She caught my ovarian tumor on a routine physical exam on my first visit. Not sure anyone else would have checked. I plan to continue to go to her until she decides to retire. Yes Dr. Yaftali has recently started charging a $100 annual fee. However, this is a far cry from concierge doctors who charge $1000 to $10,000 annually, often to seniors, like my now-deceased parents, who can hardly afford to pay for it. So I consider $100 yearly out-of-pocket a bargain. AND I suspect it might get waived if someone is actually unable to pay it. Regarding the phone scam, the phone number on Yelp was not correct and I provided the correct number today - (805) 497-3239. Their phone was out earlier on 15Jul2025 because they were changing phone services.

Another downside, for me, is that when they order any kind of test, the order has an expiration date in a week or two. I'm a senior, don't drive, and suffer from fibromyalgia with severe fatigue. All the orders from my independent drs are good for 6-12 mos! I'm guessing that large medical corporations serve a wider variety of clients, often across the entire country, so some are unreliable and do things without discussing with their drs, ergo the corporate CYA policies. Ok, but that's not me, and the independent drs I've always seen know that. Computers do not. I'm now 65 and the doctors I was with for 25+ years straight are retiring sadly. Or going "concierge" style. I got a phone message saying that my dr won't be in the day my next appt is set after all. AGAIN!! ! Each time it's ANOTHER 3-4 months before they can fit me in. Because of my fatigue added to being a lifelong "night owl", I can only do afternoon appts. I can't get to sleep until at least 3 am most nights. I also had to change my phone's "do not disturb" settings because UCLA calls at 7 am. All my life I have been taught it's rude to call others at home before 9 am. So I never get to talk to the office or person that called, since when I call back it's routed to that call center. Extremely impersonal. No one there has ANY medical training, not even receptionist level, all they do is look for open spaces on a computer screen. No empathy, and zero offers of any other way to schedule an appointment or ask a question- you have to push for any of that. When I use the app, I can interact directly with my dr's office, but it's still a series of steps from who reads my message, to a nurse or other medical assistant, to the dr, then back to me. This leads to very poor information sharing. I prefer a much more individualized approach.

I gave birth to twins when my older son was 2-1/2. I had pre eclampsia and difficulty gaining the strength I needed to take care of them as I wanted. After seeing him and not improving, I called him again and he said impatiently that he had other really sick patients who needed him and why was I bothering him. He reluctantly ordered a chest xray and it turned out I had pneumonia. I don't know why it took him several months to order such a simple thing, when I had symptoms all along. Some time later I had another chest xray prior to sinus surgery. There was a visible lump/growth in my lung of unknown origin. Dr Margolis' advice was to wait and have another xray in 6 months. This was unsatisfactory to me. On my own I went to a pulmonologist to address the situation. I left his practice.

This doctor is respected by his peers, but he gets a 1-2 star. His Ability to explain things clearly to patient = 1. He asked if I had a symptom. I didn't understand what he was talking about and so I just I told him this is what I am feeling. He asked again not trying to explain another way. When I again said I don't understand what you mean. He still didn't try to explain himself and then he dismissed how I was feeling. He said OK you don't have vertigo or dizziness. Uh but the room goes foggy, and I feel like I will faint not normal is that? Dismissed symptom as no problem. How can he properly diagnosis conditions if he doesn't understand or listen to patient's symptoms? Arrogance = 5*. Worse office experience ever had. I ended up with better care at urgent care. Save your money pay concierge fees with a doctor who cares and a front office assistant that doesn't act like she is a licensed professional. If you like doctors that don't spend time and have no patience, then this doctor is of you.

After pushing back with the office, they got me in weeks later. When I met with Dr. Mosher, she barely glanced at my records or asked me any quesitons. I went through Function Health to order blood tests because she did not seem to care. When I sent her the results, she refused to review them because she didn't order them.
