The employees are kind here. She held my friends item until we came back two hours later, which was sweet. A Christmas store to die for! So many items to look at. It also has decor for any season. I especially loved the mermaid skeletons. My friend ended up buying a pretty blue turtle. The shop is a perfect place to spend your time if you are waiting on food. Went here for the 1st time on Saturday October 4th 2025 with my mom. We were at Barefoot landing because of the Octoberfest festival and decided to look around at the stores. This was another one of them! The Christmas Mouse is a store for all themed Christmas decorations from Trees, to ornaments, a whole assortment of Ornaments as well, to plushies, to lanterns to snowglobes, and to other decorations for other holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving as well! There are 2 levels of fun! Store is organized, and has lots of items! We got a blue starfish ornament, and a seashell ornament that was $6.00. We paid via credit card. Cashier was pleasant. My wife LOVES Christmas so this store put her in Christmas Heaven! This store is breathtakingly beautiful and just tugs at the nostalgic Christmas spirit. Every kind of decoration, ornament, Christmas trees, and any other item that are even close to Christmasy you can find here. The trees were everywhere and beautifully decorated (See pics). So if the Christmas Mouse has all of this, why the 3 star rating, do you ask? Well, I didn't see anything that blew me away. Listen, I'm the person that puts her Christmas decorations up in October. I go all out...Christmas EVERYTHING, so I know unique when I see it. I made a special Lyft trip here from my hotel to haul some goodies back home and I didn't see anything here that I wanted. I literally left empty handed. Sure, I saw a few interesting pieces, but they would be too heavy for the branches of my tree, so that would defeat the purpose. I also saw plenty of stuff I either already have or was way overpriced. Moreover, some of the items I could find at my local Hallmark, so what would be the point of buying it here. I was just a bit disappointed, to say the least. They were even playing nonstop Christmas music, my favorite! All the hype that was built up, only to let me down big time. Sigh! The trees not stop there. They have the wine tree, beer tree, mash mellow and chocolate tree. Sound like the munchies and beer and wine. The tree also includes sport team like NFL tree, college football tree, and MLB tree. Well, it did not stop there. It has Cowboys tree, Angelito tree, ballerina tree, music instrument tree. Truly a great place to go if you want Christmas items and accessories. From plushies to snarky sayings to Jesus items, there is truly no other local place to go but the Christmas Mouse. The only problem I have is the air and the rotting on the floor makes the place seem uncomfortable. The air feels like St. Nick himself has a slightly tight grasp on my neck. What a fun store! I admit I'm a sucker for Christmas! As soon as you walk it, there are tons of ornaments & decorations! There are so many different themes and sections for you to find what you are looking for to complete your holiday decorations needs! I was a little disappointed in the sports ornament/decoration section. Why isn't South Florida represented? Couldn't find anything Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins or University of Miami - and let's face it, Miami is a big city! Some of the items are pretty pricey but seem to be very good quality. Christmas year round. This particular shop in located in the Barefoot Landing shopping plaza. It's not as big as the store that I've frequented in the Outer Banks years ago. There are several of these stores in N.C., S.C. & Va. With 2 floors there is quite a selection of ornaments for all ages. My favorites had to be the tree that had rock & roll icons ( such as Elvis & the Beatles). Plus movie stars from yesteryear like Marilyn Monroe. On the wall near each tree are the ornaments for sale. This made it easy to pick up a few favorites. Of course, no trip is complete without picking up a Myrtle Beach and the year on it. Prices are pretty reasonable, about $ 7- $15 each. They also stock light sets & repair kits. Plus pro & most college teams available. If you like Christmas this is your place. If I could do a minus rating I would! I bought some ornaments last night from this store. I got to the car and unwrapped one to show my mother. As I lifted the hanger a part of it broke away. I took it back in to request a switch and was told "we don't do returns". I explained I didn't want a return I just wanted to switch to one not broken. First of all the Do not X Christmas out. You have to love that. They have it all for decorations. OMG, I even found Guitars to hang on my Christmas Palm Tree. Trees, Lights, Ornaments and everything in between, they have it. They have a vast variety of Nutcrackers ! I think I counted 32 and even seen more. The store has a good display, I've seen a lot that have been better. The prices are reasonable compared to other Christmas stores. However I am rating this store a 2 due to the customer service. I got 3 ornaments that were to be personalized, the girl wrote the names down on the tissue paper checking the spelling. She wrote it on the ornaments and quickly wrapped them. When I got them back to my hotel I opened them and found 1 incorrectly spelled (though she wrote it right on the tissue paper) and they all looked like a five year old wrote them. They were horrible! Not to mention they use a regular sharpie rather than a paint pen that most places use. Buyer beware make sure to check the ornaments before you leave. read more

I like to collect an ornament from any place I have travelled to and hang it on my tree. I prefer to select an ornament that has the City and the year that we were there. This shop has something for every life style. It is so well organized that it makes shopping here so easy. After looking around the entire shop we selected a lifeguard chair ornament that showed the City and the year and we love it. I also purchased a little coke bottle and a sparkle shoe. Don't sit on the stairs, it's not only Rude to do so, but in the state of South Carolina when a business has only one stairwell, that business can be fined enormous amounts if they happen to have a firefighter come in! With that said.... The store is a nice concept, sure a bit pricey on some items, but in the end, where else can you go in the middle of July? read more

The ornament selection is great, but the ladies that run the location near Surfside are rude. Refused to let us use their restroom, weren't helpful and ignore us in line while talking to other customers and having personal conversations. Like we weren't even there. Ventured in last month while shopping around Barefoot Landing. The store is really cool and has a lot of unique ornaments you won't find elsewhere. The store is a little cramped and made looking around difficult with others bumping into us. Although this store is a place we yearly visit, we are sad to say we won't be visiting anymore. We come here every year and buy a ballerina ornament for the tree. Well this year we bought one at closing. When we got back to our condo, we unwrapped it and the arm was completely broken off. I went back the next day to ask for an exchange. The manager of the store, Barbara, was rude, short and would not even let me get my words out. I know that most people that shop here are on vacation. She can put anyone in a bad mood. Needless to say, she would not let me exchange my ornament and said "Sorry. People break them all the time and then come in for new ones" There should at least be a 24 hour policy or perhaps some customer service and tact. It was for my 7 year old daughter!
