Excuse my fingers, but I climbed some rocks to snap the pic. I didn't want to loose balance

Love Christmas Tree pass, because this dirt road took us off the beaten path to explore a new adventure. What we found were native American pyroglyphics, caves and a road were the locals decorate trees for Christmas with bulbs, lights, ornaments and tinsel. The road stretched out 12 miles long. Beware, the road is unpaved narrow road. But the sight seeing is pretty sweet. We visited this spot during our trip to Laughlin and on our way to Vegas. This spot only put us off detour 30 mins, and worth the 30 mins to explore the desert. If you're wondering if you can park your car at the entrance, sure you can. But its definitely a hike to the pyroglyphics, and a dusty one at that. I recommend a lot of water. A car full of gas, maintenance and snacks for the kiddos. But, if you're not prepared to drive the narrow rocky road then and just walking, you probably won't be able to view it all just walking.

This place is a fun drive, if u have not done it give it a try. I recommend only drive it in a SUV or truck I would NOT take my car thru this pass way to rough. If u have the time, well u should park and walk around alittle if u like to climb rocks this is s good place or just explore. Take lots of water a snacks maybe even a picnic would be nice out there. We will be back again to spend more time out there.

I love this place. So much to see. You can literally spend all day up there. Short walk to the rocks but it's so much more of it.

There's a hole-in-the-ground toilet facility by the petroglyphs if you need it.

Big Bend is beautiful! Perfect place to spend the day with your family. There are a few rules one…read moreshould know before heading there which can be found on their website. The park has improved since our first visit about 3 summers ago. We come here at least once and we all enjoy it, we get there early morning and leave right before closing. I may add, if you go during the summer, you MUST wear sun protection and bring lots of water, the heat is no joke. The water is really cold which is refreshing on a hot summer day. The staff is very friendly and informative, also very helpful!! My tent blew away during a little windy moment and they helped me bring it back while also providing tips to prevent it from happening again. In the past, we had to get there before the park opened to secure a spot and once capacity was met they didn't allow anyone to enter. This was tough since there were a couple times we didn't make it on time and had to go elsewhere. Now, things have changed, which is a lot more convenient. They only allow the people that have reserved online go in from 7am-11:30am. If you DO NOT have reservations, you will NOT be allowed in before 11:30. At 11:30 they will only allow you in if they haven't reached capacity and it's first come first serve. If you did RSVP and make it after 11:30am, you risk losing your spot since general people will be allowed in at that time.

Many of them were docked right in the beach, resulting in a lot of people ripping through very closely to where people were swimming. Between that and the strong current, this was in my opinion not a very family friendly beach, at least for one with small children.

I was searching for a place to shoot some hoops and clear my mind while visiting Laughlin, and I found this great little park. I wanted to survey the situation before getting out (since I was a female traveling alone). I stopped by around 4 pm on a Monday afternoon, and it was buzzing with families at the playground and couples bringing evening picnics to enjoy. There are a lot of picnic tables, but they were getting full by the time I left! There isn't much parking, but it's free. Take the first space you see. Nobody was using the basketball court, so I had it all to myself. It's located by the picnic areas, so I had an audience which gave me performance anxiety, LOL. One big problem with the basketball court is that it's right next to the main entryway road, and I'm a terrible shot so my ball kept rolling out into the road. Traffic isn't bad, but it stunk having to constantly chase it. I guess if you were good at sinking buckets and had some sort of talent for accuracy, this wouldn't be an issue.

Not…read moreonly were the previous years cheaper but we also got a T-shirt . 2015 Waiting around in the hot heat for a shuttle with no a/c sucked. Then at the end of the float we waited in the hot 112 degree heat 3 plus hrs in the looonnngg shuttle line to get back to the casino. Our stuff got stolen from the below luggage area. So in 2016 & 2018 we dropped off one of the cars at Rotary Park (end of the river float) so we didn't have to take the shuttle back. Previous years we stayed at the Trop. We waited 15 plus minutes just to get into the casino elevator to go down to ground floor. 2018 we stayed at Harrahs and at 8 am we had no problem getting down. Previous years you could leave your floats at Davis Camp and pick them up in the morning. I don't think they offered it this year in 2018. It was unorganized in previous years. I saw some floats get stolen from the storage area and then others that didn't have their name written on their float and matching id so they couldn't get their float. Anyways we started bringing our own battery operated air pump after our first year. So 2018 the price jumps to $70 per person to float. T-shirts are $15. We don't use their shuttles, nor air pumps, or eat their "free" hot dog. So we think we have worked out all the kinks from previous years experiences but you can't ever plan for a coast guard flying on a jet ski driving full speed towards me then at the last second turning feet away from my float all to splash me and my dry valuables. Water actually shot up my nose! My float has a center storage compartment. All our dry valuables were nice and dry in in plastic baggie. But baggies aren't water proof when covered with water. My bf's iPhone 8 Plus was water damaged thanks to the coast guard on the jet ski. He even turned back to laugh. I got a little satisfaction giving him the bird. There are several people that complain and blame the floaters for all the trash but if the coast guards on the jet skis weren't zooming by so fast and so close to our floats causing some floats to over turn and/or everything to wash out we wouldn't have so much trash. My trash and any others' trash that I could reach has always been disposed of properly. Parking is now $30 per car but you can't drive back thru at the end of your float to pick up ur parked car. They make you drop off one person that has to wait in the hot heat for 20 mins for a golf cart to give them a ride from the parking entrance to their parked car then drive out to the street and back around to the entrance to pick up the rest of our party. It's gotten ridiculous. Sorry to say but we won't be floating again until several things change.

This friggin regatta should be free.. everybody making $$ its ridiculous! Staff was very unprofessional.. seadoo life guard came at us and splashed us almost knocking us off our raft, flooded our raft, ruined my iPhone 7plus because I didn't realize it was submerged the whole time..coast guard boats flying by us stirring the water up, knocking people's belongings off their rafts- most of the litter was from this.. get to the veterans park and set my $60 raft down for a minute and staff snatched it, had to search all over to find a worker had it stashed under their table. So we get a ride back to Davis campsite to pick up our vehicle, and after we paid $30 earlier, wouldn't let us in to retrieve our vehicle.. this is a joke! We're sitting out waiting for a shuttle that never came and it was the hottest part of the day- BS!! I'm joining the protesters next year!
