I love a trip to the Christmas Tree Shop! This chain originated on Cape Cod, but has grown quite a bit over the last 20 years. This store is conveniently located in a strip mall about a 15 minute drive from Burlington, Vermont. I now live in South Florida, so I kind of miss this chain. We have one in my hometown in New York too, so I used to frequent that one. Christmas Tree Shop has quite the variety of items... Patio furniture, gardening supplies, holiday decor, toiletries, sunglasses, flip flops, frames, food, lamps and so much more! I was looking for a Vermont souvenir, I was ecstatic to find a beautiful embroidered decorative pillow for $17! I've seen slightly nicer items like this retail for $150+. They also had a limited selection of items like hats and t-shirts. I think it's a great spot for inexpensive home decor, it's usually somewhat geared towards the region that you are in. This city is right by the lake, so there was a lot of cute stuff related to that. If you need something like plates, mugs or home decor, this is your spot. It's also a good place to pick up party supplies. Inventory at these stores is always changing, on this trip I spotted a lot of summery items like patio chairs or pool toys like inflatable rafts. If you like to shop and not spend a lot, this is your spot! If you see something you really want, better buy it because it might be gone the next time you come in. read more

I live almost 2 hrs away! So don't get up here a lot in the Winter! But I do always find exactly what I'm shopping for! Pleasant assistants and a clean area to shop in!!! However much I may enjoy shopping here not having the hours posted publicly or on the store physically was a hassle. I called the store to get hours. Had the times been posted at each of the doors I would not have had to check both entrances. I checked online prior to stopping, and the hours were not available either. I work in the area during the early morning, so stopping was not the issue. The issue with it having hours posted just slowed my errands down. There is no real reason not have the hours posted for customer service purposes I'd think this should be thought out. Ok so I've killed the "you have not posted hours". I love their stuff but was there tonight and did not enjoy the rude lip from one of their 17 teen year old employee. Apparently on Sunday evenings they close at 7 which is fine but you would think they would have made an announcement...nope instead I was rudely asked why I was still in the store and that they closed 15 minutes ago. News flash people if you make an announcement that the store is closing soon we wouldn't still be in the store...apparently doing so is above their pay grade. read more

Just about everything you possibly need is here! This is my favorite store in the area, and when I moved to NY I would drive 1 1/2 to get to one. I buy ALL my kitchen stuff here, it's basically 1/2 off! Sheets, pans, spices, kitchen tools, you name it! They also have household items, frames, food, toys - I can't list it all. You just have to go and see yourself! Prepare to spend hours in there, its like a blackhole - time just disappears as you get lost in the aisles upon aisles of things you Have to Have! read more

They sell stuff here. Lot's of different kinds of stuff. Not like hamburgers or pizza. And you won't get a 2x4 or plywood but you might get an air conditioner or some funky lawn ornaments. read more

I was introduced to Christmas Tree Shops at Holyoke Ma. Now that I live in Canada I bring my friends and go to Williston VT at least 4 times a year. Stepping into the store is like coming downstairs on Christmas morning and I get to do it 4 times a year! What could be better than that?? Maybe 12 times a year????!!! Just as an aside - when I lived in CT and my Canadian relatives came to visit - we were asked to be a part of their commercial - unfortunately the timing was wrong, but they went home very happy with all their treasures. I really like the Christmas Tree Shop! I know its all cheaper items but it does serve a purpose! The simple things in life. That's it really. Like I said the items here are cheap. So what would you buy from here? Glassware, kitchen items and even holiday items. It makes a great stop for the college student who is on a budget. The only items that I stay away from are the food items. While they are cheap and seem like a great deal they are for a reason. Quality, dates are about to go or they just didn't sell well. So I stay clear of the food as a rule of thumb. The staff here are also friendly and ready to point you in the correct direction for whatever your looking for. Checkout lines are quick and simple. Over all is a great alternative to something like a Big Lots or Walmart if your in need of something small. Even the Holiday items are fun to look at sometimes. I say check em' out! read more

Any time I go to Vermont I HAVE to make it to this store. This place has everything from house decor, to toys, to food and all for cheap, cheap, prices! At Christmas this place is filled with all kinds of goodies I can't get over hear in Maple Grove! You can literally spend hours in this place and come back home stocked up with everything you could ever want in the house. When in Vermont make your way down to the Christmas Tree Shop, you will not regret it! read more

I love this store. They have everything from rugs to linens to dishes and everything in between. Reasonable prices too.

Buyer beware. I went to this location for the first time and the clerk made numerous mistakes ringing me up. Completely overcharging me. I immediately looked at the receipt and questioned some of the charges. Without a word of apology he referred me to customer service where they were beyond rude. It became clear that there were so many errors that it took two of them 20 minutes to sort it out and void out the items. Never once was I offered an apology. Customer Service 101 anywhere, in any business- if your establishment makes a mistake with someone's order the clerk or manager apologizes. It's basic human decency. My receipt at Christmas Tree shop was $52.00, I left and bought the same items at Michael's- the bill was $18.00. The clerk at Michael's carefully rang up each item making sure each rang up correctly. I doubt the clerks were making any more at Michael's they just had been trained under better management. read more
