It was a nightmare trying to get a phone call scheduled with him. He kept rescheduling and missing the follow up conversation, without any regard for my time while I was visiting my dad who was in a healthcare crisis. This was at the end of October and the Medicaid application deadline was by 11/1. I could not get in touch with him and I was in town visiting my dad for a week, needing to meet the deadline. On 10/21/25 I emailed Jeff and said I had to hire someone else to help me because we had gotten nowhere for weeks and the stress of trying to get him to work on my dad's application was just too much. I sent him an email, left a voicemail, texts. Jeff then texted me on 10/23 "As mentioned, there's more to this, please be patient". No response after that for over two months despite multiple requests for a refund for SERVICES NOT RENDERED. My dad missed the Medicaid filing deadline because Jeff was so hard to get in touch with. How can you charge a low-income elderly person who is in a healthcare crisis that much money and not work on their case at all? I wish I had googled him before hiring - turns out he's had this issue before with other clients. I can't talk. It should not be difficult to put me on your calendar via text for when my husband is available. Discriminatory. They will not work with you. If they can't even do something as basic as have a conversation about scheduling via text, they're certainly not going to go to bat for you with anything else. It was only after I told them this was discrimination and threatened to file a lawsuit that they were suddenly capable of scheduling via text. But I don't think I will go with them. It was already difficult enough to just get a basic accommodation that I have no faith they'll stand up for me. And they'll likely respond to this with some offer to assist to make themselves look better, but I've tried to work with them for over a month now. That's not gonna change because of a review. Instead, the documents he produced placed one sibling (my sister) in sole control of everything (trustee, executor, power of attorney, health care decisions) while sidelining the others. This structure ran completely counter to my parents' clearly stated wishes for equal treatment among their three children. Even more troubling, Jeter continued with a meeting despite my father (who is 90 years old) twice stating he did not want to proceed. That total disregard for my father and mother left us with the impression that one sibling's agenda was prioritized over our parents' actual voice not to mention borderline elder abuse and coercion. My father was angry when forced into a Zoom meeting by Jeter, my sister and her second husband. The documents he created also contained red flags: "Gift equalization" language that could be used to reclassify legitimate loans as gifts. Waivers of bond and reporting, removing normal safeguards and accountability. No checks or balances, essentially consolidating all authority into one person's hands. Estate planning should protect families and reflect the true intent of the clients. In our case, these drafts would have increased conflict and stripped away fairness. I was so concerned by his conduct that I filed a complaint with the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission. I cannot recommend this attorney and urge others seeking balanced estate planning to look elsewhere.
