I met Dr. Chauvin about 3 years ago, looking for a good GP that gave me a good gut feeling. We hit things off great....little did I know that I'd spend, off and on, 140 days in the Infirmary during the next 2 years. Dr. Chauvin practically visited at least once a day for the first 72 days. I was consumed with different infections from an abscess in my hip/buttock/thigh due to very heavy radiation 33 years beforehand. He was my cheerleader, internal medicine doc and liason between all of the hospital specialist that dealt with me. I have been seeing Dr. Chauvin for the past four years . It started as just routine visits, then I had a cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgery last year, and am currently cancer free. Throughout my ordeal, during my regular care visits, Dr. Chauvin closely monitored my treatment and tests. He made sure I understood important medical terminology and concepts so I could have meaningful discussions with my oncologists. He even drew graphics to help me understand. During our regular office visits, he also takes the time to discuss my general health, blood work and allows me to ask as many questions as I need to for understanding. I never feel rushed with him.
