This person installed a chimney liner which accumulated water resulting in the boiler not working…read moreproperly. First, he maintained he had never been to my house. When confronted with a cancelled check for $2,500, he came out and said he couldn't determine what was wrong, that he was going to have to break open the wall below the chimney and he would get back to me. When I followed up with a text message, he told me he needed to get a part. When I followed up again, he told me he had ordered "the part" and was waiting for it. Again, with a follow up text and was told the same thing. That was a year ago. So, he doesn't know what's wrong with it, but he knows what part he needs to get. Ironically, he was recommended by the boiler installer and I strongly suspect a kickback. You might as well set your money on fire than give it to this dishonest person.

Called for an appointment on Thursday and Friday morning the chimney guy was at the apt ready to do his job. It took him about an hour for cleaning and inspection and he told me that the fireplace was not used much in the past and it just needed a good cleaning and lookover . Rate was reasonable and the advice he gave me for proper maintenance and care was very useful ..Was thinking about having the fireplace sealed up so I wouldn't have to deal with it anymore when the new tenant moves it but the chimney guy told me , it would be a shame to not have a fireplace especially during the winter time and a fireplace in a condo apt is rare and very cool , so fireplace stays put .
