Last Spring we hired this company to renovate our front lawn. They came & did the work, but we were not pleased. Our front yard was torn up & not evened out after roto tilling, & there was still a huge amount of thatch left unraked. We called to have them come back. They said it looked good. We said that it did not, and asked them to redo the seeding. They did. When the grass started to come up, we were horrified to find that there were 2 different colors! I placed 2 or 3 phone calls to the company to say that we were very unhappy. Our calls were not returned. I spent all of last Fall re- raking and dethatching my lawn. It was an enormous amount of work, especially as I have a bad back, and am no longer young. When Spring came around this year again, I had to dethatch my lawn again because so much thatch had been left unraked by the company to begin with. I also had to reseed, to try to get the lawn all one color. We specifically told the company that we needed to have our lawn looking great, so that we might have the option of putting the house on the market within a couple of years. This company was highly recommended, so we are very put out and disappointed. We paid a lot of money for the work, & I ended up having to redo everything myself by hand. I am including pictures of the patchwork looking colors of the lawn, as well as the wheelbarrows full of thatch that I raked and hauled back into my woods. Had a very simple job to lay stone in my side yard. Moved my ac unit and disconnected the refrigerant line. They did not have the decency to tell me. Unit sat disconnected all winter and is now damaged. read more

I contacted Capital Stone through yelp and 2 guys showed on my property to give me an estimate. They were extremely nice ... convinced me to do the job in no time. We signed an agreement and I paid them $3500 cash. After that they started making excuses and pushing the start date. Today when they showed up ... they brought one guy no equipment no nothing ... when I complained it's not professional ... they left. I asked them for my deposit back. They started making excuses and want me to sign papers that I received before even returning the money. I never ever experienced anything like .... The project was much bigger than I expected, it took approximately two weeks from beginning to end, but it was worth every stress filled minute. The company spokesman Nick, just as I expected, was true to his word. He checked up throughout the project and made sure all the details I asked for were delivered. Jose was awesome, he treats his workers really well, they work with enthusiasm and love what they do. They were there everyday working from 8 am until the end of the day. Jose brings them lunch each day, they eat and continue working. They clean up after themselves and take their garbage with them. When the job was finished they cleaned up the entire area and left everything beautiful. If I could give these people 10 stars I would, they deserve it. Wanted our backyard patio area to be extended with pavers as well as landscape/mulch around our property. Capital Stone was able to deliver. Nick was responsive and pleasant to work with. They were not the cheapest around but we decided to go with them based on the positive reviews online. It was a big project as they had to remove existing concrete but their crew were able to finish everything in about 4 days. They also fixed/leveled my gate at no cost. read more

Rude, unprofessional and insulting! Do not recommend! Nick is very unprofessional and inconsiderate.

I will start with a positive and give the 3 stars. At the end of it all the job was finished well enough for what we paid (in my estimation). Second, I absolutely recommend, do not be convinced into signing the contract by Nick or rely on any word or promise from him, though he seems incredibly honest. Research the steps for whatever job you want done, and have it written out step by step. Have a estimated start and finish date. And make sure your contract has a length of time to guarantee the job. D Not Sign if everything is not detailed. Watch the work they do, because every time you turn around, corners will be cut. There were many issues from beginning to end. The work was sloppy and unprofessional. They continued to urinate on my house even after multiple offers for them to use the bathroom. The job could have been finished in a couple of days, but took almost 2 months. Used materials were laid down and had to be removed and replaced after long arguments with the owner. Nick the salesman was great at what he was there to do, sell us a contract. The people hired however were not connected to him. It was as if they just picked up two random workers from the Home Depot parking lot and called them masters. They came and went whenever they felt like it. They damaged multiple things and left garbage on the way out. They didn't finish backfilling and leveling the yard. I was told I need to do it myself. I have about 30 photos and 10 videos that I can explain issue after issue, but like I said in the beginning, they completed the work enough and fixed many of the complaints we had along the way, and that's fair enough. read more

I started off by saying I wasn't completely sure about what I wanted cause I'm not very good with plants and kill everything and he said 'I'm the same way'. We had a messy backyard with a mulch hill and some grass and we were not sure were to begin with having a beautiful green yard - we contacted few landscaping companies but Jose from Capital Stone gave us a honest assessment and was right on target. He came out with his team and completed the work within a few days as he promised. Because we liked his work and trust his company so much we had him come back and rearrange and add more sprinklers to our lawn. Excellent Mason. If you are looking for a skilled, reliable and affordable mason, I just used Capital Stone Corp, located in Park Ridge. They did an AMAZING job on building a retaining wall, fire pit, and patio, in my backyard, using mostly stones and blue stone, located throughout my property. Jose, the owner, is so easy to work with and flexible with anything I asked. Karen, his assistant, is friendly, informative and kept reminding me throughout that I have to be 100% happy with the results. Wilson was meticulous with literally every stone he placed. Even my neighbor commented, as he watched him build, from his own property. Jose's team of men worked hard and left everything spotless.
