Here are the many benefits to Life Church: First and foremost every aspect of the service is about God and learning through his word. There is no hooplah i.e. Benny Hinn. The sermon is virtual. The lead pastor is video taped and his sermon is broadcast all over the world and during life church services. You can access his sermon anywhere and at anytime from the Life Church App. Pastor Craig's sermons are always thoughtfully delivered with passion. He is one of the best I have ever heard and witnessed. He also preaches based on a theme or series which is intended to relate to our current world. The music at this church is absolutely amazing. Every week feels like a live concert. I am a musician and I am always impressed by the passion and musicality. The sound system, TV screens and lighting is also state of the art. Some serious $ was invested. On the life church app you can stay in touch with Life Church, provide your offerings, read the bible and connect with small groups of which there are many and are located all over the capital region. I should also mention the people that volunteer on Sunday are awesome as well. They always offer a smile or a wave. Parking attendants, ushers, hospitality (they provide coffee, snacks, juice) work very hard and everything runs seamlessly. If you are looking for something new or are looking to reconnect with God this may be an awesome church to do that.

I have always admired the exterior and have been excited about the renovations coming. Nothing prepared me for just how astonishing it was inside! 19th Century craftsmanship on beautiful display! It was a great opportunity to expose my children to this type of architecture, and explore the stations of the cross, talk about relics, and see their natural wonder at every major work of art-including the MANY stained glass windows! There is so much to offer and it truly is unique to our area. Thankful to have been able to visit and peacefully learn together as a family!

The Sermon was spectacular, the people amazing, the spirit invigorating but your church music will ruin many children and grandchildren and Young people's hearing and you will be held responsible. Not to mention the elderly people as well even around age 50 or so. Pastor Mike and Kristi, you seem like sensible people. Surely you can make one small and important change for your congregation and tell them why you have lowered the volume for your audience. I'm sure they will understand. You have everything else. Share with them the facts about your hearing research in your Sermon. They will be grateful instead of mad if you back it up with facts. You can feel God's presence here. The people are extremely friendly and help you grow as a person, the music is okay (I prefer more classical hymns, though their worship band is good), and they have multiple times for service in case you are a morning person or a late person. They also have lots of additional activities to help you grow spiritually and interact with others, such as evening Bible studies, teen and youth groups, church dinners, quilting clubs, day-time groups, etc. If you want a nice church, come here. If you want to improve your relationship with God and others, come here. If you are lost and don't know what you want, come here.

St Mary's Parish, in Albany, is the 2nd oldest parish in NYS, founded in 1797. The original Church…read moreburned, as did the 2nd Church built at the same site. The 3rd, and current Church, was completed in the 1860's. Located on Lodge St, in a congested area, there is limited street parking. However, parking is available on weekends directly across the street in the judicial parking lot. SMC has been on my bucket list ever since a friend, Tiny Tim, mentioned his family are parishioners. On a recent visit, I was thoroughly impressed w pretty much everything... the architecture, stained glass windows, original pipe organ, statues, layout, etc, etc. The footprint is huge. You could probably fit my local Church, also St Mary's, four + times in the Albany structure. The Cantor has a professional-grade voice. The lector, Bernadette, has been doing the readings at the 10:30 Sunday Mass for over 15 years. And she drives from Cobleskill each week, a 45 minute trip (each way) in good weather. The ceiling, which looks painted, is actually a woven tapestry! I sat upstairs in the balcony. Note that the "kneelers" up there have no cushioning, just solid wood like the old days. All-in-all, a building that inspires worship and self reflection. I can see why Bernadette makes the trip each week.
