I want to recognize some of the staff who took excellent care of me: nurses Gracie, Alma, Erin, Stephanie, Junah, tech Christopher, and the PT/OT team -- Brian, Brandi, and Wendy. I would honestly rate them 100/10. They were attentive, kind, and made a very difficult situation much easier. While my overall stay had some challenges -- particularly with response times and delays in assistance at certain points -- it seemed like this may have been related to staffing levels rather than the individuals themselves. I also experienced some concerns around discharge timing while I was still dealing with significant pain, weakness, dizziness, and fluctuating blood pressure, though I ultimately stayed longer due to a heart-related issue. One small note: food delivery was often delayed, so ordering ahead may help. Overall, the standout staff I mentioned above truly made a difference in my experience, and I'm very grateful for the care they provided. read more

I just spent five days in Mother Frances for sepsis and pneumonia, and for the most part, I was very very pleased with the quality of care I received. The Good: Nearly every nurse I had was personable, knowledgeable, and willing to answer my questions. I'm not great at remembering all the names, but almost the entire staff on the 4th floor of the Houston tower were just phenomenal. Also, when I was admitted, I was on a "cardiac diet" that was from an incident from many years ago, but I was also cleared for outside food (imagine not being able to get a packet of salt from the cafeteria, but I could order Whataburger if I wanted to.) I appreciate that the lady working at Food Services took the time to call around and find out what was up, and get it fixed so that it reflected my actual health needs. Also, the paramedics who transported me were kind, skilled, and calming. The Bad: I had one nurse by the name of Annabelle who did not flush my IV for a full day, leading to it needing to be replaced, and who would not get the charge nurse. During my last IV antibiotic infusion of her shift, I told her it was painful (it shouldn't have been) and she told me the IV was probably just tired, then left for an hour and didn't come back to check on me, just left it going. She also basically manhandled me, rather than allowing me to move my own pajama sleeve out of the way, pulling on my IV and causing additional stress. read more

I have a Christus Medicare Advantage Health plan and just want to say their customer service is non existent. The only way to get any help is to call. and when you do, you have to go thru their automated call system. and if and when you are able to get a live person, they will put you on hold, so they can gather information about your account. I'm not talking a brief hold but 30 minutes or longer. And then they tell you to call back after they can't help you! And don't get me started on prescriptions! They can't even tell you what is covered! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! read more

I was having chest problems and ended up on the emergency cardiac ward room number 8 from 3am Monday until about 10 am Tuesday. All of the staff was wonderful. My day nurse Dana was exceptional. I give her 5 stars. Any thing I needed she was there. She is very friendly, compassionate and caring. Any questions I had she found the answer to. I feel this nurse is going places. My experience there was made easier because of how upbeat she is and how hard she worked to make me feel at ease. Ma. Dana I thank you and wish you the very best. I'm not someone who typically leaves a review. Therefore, the fact that I am should be telling in itself of the experience my family has had today. My grandmother arrived at the ER at approximately 11:30am and we did not get discharged until 9:30pm. Out of the 10 hours we we were there, we were left alone in the room with almost zero communication on what we were waiting on. Also, we would press the nurse call button only to have to wait about 20 minutes each time with absolutely no response. I would end up having to walk out into the hallway and flag someone down for every simple request. One example of this was when my grandmother requested to go to the bathroom. I walked out to the desk after no one bothered to answer the nurse call button, just to be told someone would contact her nurse to see if she could take her to the bathroom. We waited another 15 minutes where my grandmother seriously contemplated just using the bathroom in her Depends, before I finally stopped a male nurse in the hallway and explained the situation and he quickly went to assist her and set her up to where she wouldn't even have to leave the bed. He was wonderful. However, I'm unsure why the several young women who were seated at the front desk and who had all heard my original request, couldn't have done the same thing. I also don't understand why it's acceptable to ignore patient call lights. There's so much more I could say, but I won't. What I will say is we will not be back to this ER ever again. The lack of communication, the non existent nurse response time, and the absolutely absurd and unnecessarily long wait time left a bruised and battered old woman even more distressed than she already was prior to her visit. I gave birth to my son at Trinity it was horrible, I had Pneumonia and toximia. They wait almost 14 hours to let me deliver him because they would take my water breaking as it time to deliver my son's head was cone shaped because he had been in me for too long , they call CPS on me because I could get up to go to the NICU because imone lung was completely full. They never gave me medicine or treated me I got the help after I left. CPS kept my child from me at the hospital for three months. I have blood clock and debilitating pain from the c section cut. I will always be traumatized by there action and in pain from how they left my body from there lack of care and empathy. Office experience was horrible they did not care. read more

STAY AWAY. These people are incompetent. Doctors are rude and inexperienced and my so-called "doctor" refused to put diagnosis codes and treatment codes on my paperwork which resulted in my insurance company, Humana, refusing to cover my hospital stay and subsequent weeks of incorrect billing, haranguing insurance people and service providers as well as the hospital. I was seen by a "doctor" exactly once, and for perhaps 3 minutes, an extremely rude and obnoxious person from some unknown middle eastern country who refused to answer questions and told me that I was "in the hospital now, we'll handle it, dont ask questions." He appeared very annoyed that I was not in a black robe with a veil over my face. As noted above, he refused to put any diagnosis or treatment "codes" on my treatment paperwork which resulted in the insurance company refusing to cover my hospitalization and subsequent weeks of hair-tearing phone calls and emails trying to straighten it all out, which has yet to be done. There is a fine hospital, UT Health, in Tyler. I recommend you go there should you require hospital care. Stay away from this place. UGH. read more

The staff is wonderful. My doctor, aides, nurses, and meal planners worked very hard to help me with my issues. They even now have an online app you can use for ordering meals a day in advance for patients as well as a family member. I will have to give a review later on my checkout experiences. read more

I advise you to read all of the one star reviews and understand that these are not just "difficult patients" being unreasonable. They are all likely true. It seems that care used to be good at Christus, but things are now dangerous. I have never received scarily bad care like I did at Christus. They asked my husband to bring my CPAP because there was a shortage at the hospital after I was admitted through the ER for pneumonia. The respiratory department then told me that they were not allowed to touch my equipment and if I wanted to use it I had to sign a release form. I said, "No problem, I'll use your equipment." The respiratory staffer said, "Here, take a look at the form and see if you want to sign it and use your own CPAP." I looked at the form and it appeared to say that I absolved them of all responsibility for my respiratory care because I had "insisted" on using my own equipment. I said, "I'm not signing this. It's a lie." Spoiler alert: They had a cpap shortage and I went without a cpap the first night. Next day I was being asked by staff sometimes whether or not I had been given certain meds yet. Finally I asked a nurse or tech, "Can't you look at the chart? Are you charting this?" A person cannot be sick with pneumonia, running on no sleep and also try to manage their own care. I heard a rumor that half of their respiratory staff had recently resigned en masse. Various employees indicated that they were short staffed. The second night I began messaging my husband at home that there were terrible issues and the next day we needed to speak to some kind of supervisor. That night my IV began to loudly alarm and said it was occluded on the patient side. I had blown out three IV's in the ER, so I was concerned. I recorded the alarm ringing and sent the videos to my husband, showing him the IV and then the clock on the wall. The IV probably alarmed for 25 minutes total. Nurse came in and she said my IV was just kinked and if the alarm went off again, I should unkink it and hit the restart button. This is when I knew that care here was dangerous and I began to get scared. We agreed that we would try to meet with a supervisor. That night respiratory therapy came in with a CPAP and, once again, they wanted to ask me if I'd like to use my own and I told them I was not signing their form. The CPAP machine did not work. Every time I had an episode of apnea, it alarmed and eventually a nurse or tech came in and said, "Let's get this off of you. It's just waking you up all the time instead of helping you sleep." The next morning the respiratory therapy tech told me that the machine that they put on me has not worked on a single patient that they put it on. My husband came in at 11am and we asked to speak to the floor charge nurse, as had been suggested to us prior. He went three times to the nurses station and found it deserted. Hours passed. It was 5pm before the floor charge nurse arrived. By this point, after witnessing the situation during the daytime, we asked if I could please be transferred to another facility. The floor charge nurse eventually said that they were going to arrange a "lateral transfer" for me and I was relieved. Then she said that I needed to speak to the site supervisor so my husband and I waited and at around 8 pm the supervisor came in and told me that he would NOT agree to transfer me because "technically we are able to care for you." I told him that I did not think they could and that we had been having issues for two days. He told me that I could not transfer and the only way I'd be allowed to leave was if I left the facility AMA. I told him that I KNEW I needed health care. I knew what the medical advice was, I just wanted care from another facility that could provide it. He was adamant that I should stay and let respiratory care attempt to fix the CPAP that did not work and said that he would not arrange the transfer. So I did something I never do and I took out my video camera and put it on a person. I asked him again to clarify that I would not be able to be transferred despite my wishes. His demeanor changed, he said he did not want to be recorded, he said he was not telling me to leave AMA and eventually he said he could have security seize my phone and my recording. In short, we ended up fleeing Christus and I refused to sign an AMA because they were trying to force me to. I went to another ER in another system that has a history of me as a good patient and I received care for my pneumonia, but I know that Christus told the facility I fled to that "I inappropriately videotaped things" because I heard my nurse getting that report over the phone. Not only did Christus NOT want me to leave, they tried to poison the well at the place I fled to. Avoid Christus. read more

I was in the area staying at a vacation home when I had urinary blockage. I went to the Christus ER in south Tyler. There was only one patient there when I arrived, so I went in right away. They determined that they needed to install a catheter which was very painful. The nurse that treated me was friendly and knowledgeable. Despite being the only patient, the doctor only spent one minute in the room. They sent me home with a perscription. I did not notice at the time that there was no perscription for pain. They told me someone would call the next day to schedule a folow up visit which did not happen. The paperwork they sent home was printed on a printer with no toner and was illegible. I called the ER the next day to inquire about pain meds but they said they do not do that. I asked to talk to the doctor and they told me he was not there. When I asked when he would return they said that they do not release his schedule. Fortunately I had my own pain meds. I started calling the Christus urology department to schedule an appointment to remove the catheter. Two days later with no apointment at Christus I decided to call UT. They could get me in a few days later but they needed the referral from the ER. I called the Christus ER and they told me they were not allowed to send medical files outside of the network. After many calls to the Christus urology department I finally got in after 9 days. The appointment was a total disaster. When taken to the exam room, it was like they all had stop watches and rushed thru the process. The med tech was new and had no answers for my questions. The doctor assistant came in with a HUGE attitude. He did not want to waste his time answering any questions. After rushing thru what they were going to do I asked about pain meds being in extreme pain (far worse than root canal). He again said they don't prescibe those. When I told him that I had my own he went ballistic and asked me if I wanted to leave or get this procedure done (only 8 minutes left on stop watch). I was always told that Tyler was a great city in part due to having two large reputable hospitals. From what I can detemine, Christus has completely destroyed the reputation Trinity Mother Francis had earned prior to being purchased. Summary: The Tyler Christus organization is like a chinese fire drill and most of the workers are inexperienced and/or have bad attitudes. After my own experience and reading their online reviews, I will never step foot in the hospital again. In fact, I have signed an advance directive prohibiting them from ever treating me again. read more

My boyfriend was injured in a car wreck on 9/20/2025 and was transported by ambulance to Sulphur Springs CTMF. Everyone was compassionate and caring. The paramedics that transported him to Tyler CTMF were great in explaining the trip and the transfer. He was in a lot of pain and they understood and tried to make the trip as comfortable for him as they could. Everyone at the ER in Tyler were just as compassionate and understanding of his injuries. He was on the 5th floor for 4 days and he received excellent care. The 5th floor medical staff, nursing staff and physical therapy staff were amazing. They really seem to understand the extent of his injuries and were patient with him as they lifted him from the bed to the floor to start walking. They did not try to rush him and they listened to him as he repeatedly said "slow, slow, slow". They could have gotten annoyed with him but they chose to be patient and kind. Whenever we asked for something out of the norm they were quick to get an answer or bring him an extra blanket or just a cup of ice. We will be forever grateful for the care he received. I wish I could call each name and give individual praise to each. Thank you for getting him up on that walker and making him stronger. As we were waiting for a wheelchair to take him to the car two paramedics came by with a bed and offered to roll him down to the car which made his transition to the car amazing! He was dreading it! But they lowered him to the ground and patiently waited in the hot sun as he slow, slow, slow ambulated to the car. It's the small things that make a hospital experience better!! My 86 y/o mother is waiting in the lobby to be picked up by my brother b/c this so-called caring staff and a hospital that claims to be "with you on the journey", decided to discharge her RIGHT NOW and wouldn't even let her wait in the room. I am out of town and it will take me 5 hours to get there. Caring??? What a joke!! My husband was seeing a urologist there for prostate CA. He has a biopsy and after procedure had a UTI. Found out at that time he was to have had pre-procedure antibiotics that were never ordered. The MD would not see him during the UTI but told him to go to the ER. When he wrote a negative review about the MD he was told that he could not change MD there but would have to actually change hospital systems. Now we are stuck seeing this loser or change to UT where we have never been. read more

I've been a patient of MF as well as my family for many years. This last visit (Jan 30-Feb 1) has got to be the worst experience. I definitly came in here with some form of a neurological disorder. (I do have brain cancer and a mass on L3 that has spread to the middle and upper parts of spine). I did not see a doctor at all Friday and aftercomplaining this morning they finally found one and all he did was show me results from my chart! Plus...I'm taking a very specific drug for my cancer. The pharmancy here decided to play God and confiscated the drug preventing me from self administering. They have never done that before, even my visit here in August (x2) and September. If I have a situation that requires me to come here again, it won;t happen. The EMS drivers had better prepare to drive to UTSW in Dallas. Thanks! read more

Where to begin? 1st, my grandmother went to the cardiologist who wanted to admit her immediately but they can't do that (even though the heart hospital is connected to the regular hospital). She had to be admitted through the ER, which is absolute nonsense. That was at 11 a.m. She told them she hadn't eaten and they said they'd get her some food when she got settled in. It is now 6:30pm and she just got admitted to a room about an hour ago and now she is told she can't have anything to eat or drink because of her procedure tomorrow. SHE HAS HAD NOTHING TO EAT OR DRINK ALL DAY!!! And who ever heard of getting nothing to eat starting at 6 pm the day before a surgery. It is standard to start fasting after midnight. When I left her, I left under the assumption she would be getting food. I could have walked down to the cafeteria and gotten her something but they just kept saying she'd be in a room soon. This is actually elder abuse in my opinion. She doesn't want to say anything and I am an hour away or I would be up there with food and speaking to the charge nurse. Someone is either misinformed or lazy! I initially planned to write a review because they have Fox news on in the ER but now that seems silly. But, since I am here, hospitals should not have partisan and divisive stations on the TV in the waiting areas. Put on something that isn't controversial like HGTV or Food Network. Fox disseminates misinformation about vaccines and therefore should not be on in a medical facility. We live in a kind of rural area with minimal choices for healthcare. If there were more options, I would never let her step foot in this hospital again, nor would I or any of the rest of my family go there. read more

The experience has been very disappointing with regard to the care of my Mother, apathetic nurses, her room was untidy, trash on the floor, waited an hour before someone would help me change my Mother's soiled gown and pads, very little if any communication with doctors, the staff. I asked the doctor to re-image her as I knew there was imaging that was missed at a nearby medical facility, the doctor agreed and sure enough he found blockage that was preventing her foot from healing, she had to endure a surgery with amputation and subsequently another surgery to open the blockage. I hope they got all the infection and removed any and all blockage. Also during a shift change, nurses were conversing in her room and mentioned pneumonia, but never had the courtesy to tell me directly, I literally had to ask, ask for everything, information, assistance, etc. If you have a loved one, YOU MUST ADVOCATE FOR THEIR HEALTHCARE, FOLLOW UP TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE DONE THEIR JOB EVEN DOCTORS. I had to request physical therapy after discharge, not sure why the doctors didn't automagically refer her to rehabilitation which has been standard procedure from previous hospital discharge protocols. This is all very concerning as there are only two major hospitals in this area, the level of care, promptness, communication, professionalism are all lacking. I don't know if morale is low post COVID waves or if nurses are leaving, if it is difficult to retain top notch staff, if it's poorly managed, but the whole experience has been very concerning, I would not want to go back to there, not my first choice, I'll pay out of pocket to be sent to DFW but unfortunately for elderly patients, they don't have many options in the Tyler, East Texas area. I also had a horrible experience in the ER as a patient myself. The ER doctor did not give a damn about my injury. Very cold, very rude. I was told that I could not be treated unless I had a gun shot wound or if I was about to die, an ER doctor told me this after waiting for over 5 hours, wow Are nurses and doctors not adequately trained in East Texas, what is going on? My son is a veteran. He was admitted to the emergency room with deep vein thrombosis. They left him in a wheelchair for 6 hours before giving him a room. At first they were going to send him home. They performed surgery on his legs and released him on a Sunday with a prescription for meds that were not available in Tyler. They had failed to notify the va of a change in his blood thinner medication so he had to pay for meds until he could get to the VA. What a poor way to treat veterans. read more

I had a heart attack 10/20/25. From the Christus Jacksonville ER, to the flight crew to Tyler, to the cath lab, and to 2 cardiac wards, the care I received for the next 3 days and nights (10/20, 10/21, 10 /22) was superb. Every discipline (and there were many) that I interacted with were smart, sharp, kind, and professional. On Thursday 10/23/25 that changed. The 7am-7pm Registered Nurses were an embarrassment to their profession. There was a clique of them that horsed around in the halls, obviously dumped their work on others, were not honest with information, could not be bothered by my one question, and overall very unprofessional. When I was discharged that afternoon, I was rolled off the ward in a shower chair and as I passed the RN clique, they did an insulting choreographed physical demonstration. I was not a PITA patient. In fact I did not want to be one of those because I know how hard the job can be as I got out of RN school in 1979 and did the job until retirement in 2024. I'm going to start from when I was admitted to the Tyler ER on May 29th, 2023 against my will and taken there by police officers from Tyler PD. A family member (my mother) had called the police and told them I was suicidal, but I wasn't. I was intoxicated and had been drinking at my home prior to being taken to the emergency room. I was not told what was going on, even when I asked repeatedly. The nurse would not give me any information and neither would the police. All of a sudden, the two heavy set cops and the nurse jumped on top of me. They forcefully held me down as they ripped my clothes off me. The nurse held my arm down and shoved the needle into my arm roughly. It was very painful and I screamed "Ow!" as loud as I could. It was the most traumatizing experience I've ever had. I started resisting because I was scared and didn't know what was going on. I was given fluids through an IV and without my consent, injected with Ativan. (a type of sedative) It made me black out and as I woke up, I was still unaware of what was going on. Nobody would talk to me, until a nurse came in and asked me to speak to a therapist on a computer screen. The therapist asked me questions for a couple minutes and then she diagnosed me with "suicidal ideation." I was not suicidal and I told her that. Another nurse told me that I was going to be taken by a sheriff to a mental hospital. Since the therapist had recommended in-patient hospitalization , the nurse told me I wasn't allowed to leave the emergency room. If I tried, she would call the cops on me and I would be arrested. I learned that the cops went to the county judge and had them sign off on a POW warrant to take me to the mental hospital. I was treated with no dignity or respect whatsoever. No patient should ever be treated the way I was. Shame on the nursing staff and the police who brought me there. I did not give them permission or consent to access my health insurance information, but they did. Then, it only got worse for me. The same day, I was taken to Glen oaks hospital and admitted involuntarily against my wishes. read more

This is more of a warning than a review for those planning to use Christus telemedicine services. They clearly advertise flat rate "fee for service" of $30 but if you have insurance, be aware that you MUST not only ask for the uninsured rate (which I did) but also pay that $30 AT THE TIME OF SERVICE, or they will still bill your insurance irrespective of your request. Oh, and they will NOT entertain modifying the charges at all. For some that maybe fine (and even cheaper) but for others your deductible may mean you pay 100% out of pocket (which is $100+). Of course, Christus will be able to benefit far more from an insurance claim, so the requirement to pay immediately is not made clear either when you book the telemedicine appointment, during the appointment, or after it. I was told (by a very nice and patient billing support agent) that it was MY responsibility to figure out how to pay at the time of service (I don't recall any obvious way to do so). Christus bill everything else to existing patients with an account, so why not telemedicine? I'll let you decide...... read more

My mom was in the ICU/IMC for 12 days. The nurses were the highlight of the time here. I do have one concern... there was 2 nighttime nurses that refused to re-position my mom because she was uncomfortable. The nurse stated it wasn't her/his job to re-position my mom. My mom ended up being in pain. Aren't nurses supposed to care and make sure their patients are comfortable? We appreciate all the kind nurses- Alisa, Fortune, Joy, Sandra, Lourdes, Mona, Crystal, Francisco, and Rusty- for taking stellar care of my mom. I went to the Tyler ER during the Pandemic and thought I was having a stroke or heart problems. The doctor never tested me for COVID and I ended up about ten days later in the Winnsboro ER with Pneumonia and very low oxgen levels due to guess what ? COVID. Due to the misdiagnosis my health was endangered and my insurance would not pay for $10,000 in ambulance and ER bills. Now they are fighting me with typical bill collector BS when I am paying them what I can every month. I have already paid down about $3,000. My 84 year old mother was in this hospital for a week. No mention of a Covid vaccine, so I asked and was told, "We're still watching for allergic reactions to the vaccines". Really? I have made numerous calls to scheduling and also spoke with the supervisor and it's still not resolved. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Go somewhere else! I used to enjoy the great service this clinic offered, until billing department charged me $11,329 for a sensor the doctor (Sylvia Kariampuzha, MD) put on me without telling me how much it was going to cost. So the next appointment I had, I told the doctor what had happened and she told me that it was billed incorrectly and she was going help me fix the bill. My appointment was back in May, 16, 2023 and until now the matter has not been resolved. I tried calling billing at least 5 times on different occasions and still no support or help. It has been highly frustrating and stressful having to deal with this problem especially since the cost of living is so high. I used to leave near the area but I moved, so now I drive over 2 hours to use their service since I've been using it since I was about 13, and I'm currently 31. I've always paid my medical bills on time and have never had an issue, but when you are wrongly billed and can not get anyone to resolve the matter that's what I call horrible service! read more

It's terrible when you're in severe back pain and you're herded to a curtain enclosed area with two uncomfortable chairs to wait and the arrogant doctor treats you like you've wasted his time. This used to be an emergency room where the doctors and nurses showed care and concern. Now they try to run you out of there asap. After being with Mother Frances for decades I am giving serious thought to transferring my medical records to UT. read more

Staff is great for the most part. That is where quality ends. Like pulling teeth to get information. No matter what you ask, it's always some other persons job to answer your questions. If you only bathe once every 5 days, you'll have no trouble at this place. Very unorganized. If you have a loved one there, you better be prepared to take care of their needs, yourself. read more

Don't go to this hospital because the caseworker Ashley doesn't care about nobody but her own self this hospital is worthless they don't care about a person they are willing to send us an 800 lb man back to a house where the floor needs to be fixed or he's going to fall through and die and they told him he has to go back there or the police are going to be called they don't care about their patients read more

My profession has taken me to some of the worst hospitals in some of the poorest countries, and this one has a lot of the same issues. Major delays in getting procedures and tests, leaving patients on bedpans and laying in urine for hours, not correlating medical care with status of vitals, and forgetting to turn patients at night. My relative went in for one procedure, and has since developed major issues with speech, cognitive function, depression, and severe weakness, not to mention respiratory issues that aren't being properly addressed. Many staff, primarily at night, seem stretched, over worked, and uninterested in providing adequate care. Although there are a few bright spots, those that do care have too many patients. Update: After weeks of being in the hospital and continued neglect and mismanagement of his case, my relative passed away. read more

I noticed the place is expanding so there is construction on some parts of the hospital. this was a nice facility with two cafeterias from what i noticed. I mean this is a hospital what can you really say either you love them for what they have done for a loved one or you hate them for not responding the way you wanted them too. Just judging by my visit it was a pleasant visit with helpful staff. read more

So where do I start..... Daughter was sent here by her doctor to be induced and deliver her first child. Show up at given time and we were told "oh well we are running low on equipment staff and rooms because there's tons of mothers ready to deliver right now"......Wait what? Low on equipment? No rooms? Do they no communicate with doctors office's about scheduling? 12 hours after the time my daughter was scheduled the hospital calls and says " get here as soon as possible your next on the list" So yet again I'm floored! She was scheduled for 6am it wasn't a draw a number and wait your turn deal. Second issue...... the attitude of workers up front......horrible. I mean they were rude as rude gets. Even workers at the call center were rude. Third issue...... nurses in labor and delivery after finally making it upstairs were also rude. Not a single one was welcoming. All of them sitting around playing on phones laughing making it seem like it was a bother to ask them anything. Personally... I do not recommend this hospital for even a dying horse. Sickening to think this is where my daughter has to experience her first child being born. Will never return to this place no matter the issue. read more

I AM PISSED THEY WASTED OUR TIME AND THEY ARE COMMITING INSURANCE FRAUD !!!!!!!!!!!! My husband was sent to Trinity Mother Frances by ambulance from Hospitality ER on Sunday evening he needed to see a Neurologist ASAP and they are the only hospital in the areas with a neurologist on call. When the neurologist finally came to see my husband the next morning she ordered a STAT MRI of the Brain and Spine and then ask the nurse " Do you think that could be done today ?" Well needless to say it wasn't and 12 hours later still no MRI. On one occasion the transporter came to get my him to take him and she got a phone call and had to go back because her words were " There is another patient that needs an MRI more urgent than you " Well still no MRI !!! The nurse came in the room and states that there are patient waiting in the hospital for weeks waiting for an MRI to be done. They was only giving my husband his daily meds nothing for pain but OTC Tylenol because they are waiting on MRI results and for some reason their radiology dept SUCKS they are disorganized !!!!!!! My husband could possibly be suffering from symptoms of a stoke and they could care less. The lack of patient care is unreal we ended up discharging my husband because the level of care is awful!!!! I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU DONT HAVE FAMILY UP THERE WITH YOU I FEEL SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS WITH THEM --- YOU BETTER GET YOUR AFFAIRS IN ORDER BECAUSE THEY COULD CARE LESS !!!!! read more

Unbelievable experience from a hospital that I have previously trusted. It has gone downhill. My father contracted c diff after a 1 day surgery. He was released home and returned in 48 hours due to c diff, though they did not acknowledge it yet. In spite of overwhelming evidence, took 3 days for them to run the c diff culture for diagnosis. During that time he was given drugs that cause c diff. His severe colitis progressed to ileus. He was in the hospital 2 more weeks to cure his nosocomial infection. He was given inappropriate meds, room was not sanitized properly, infection control by staff was spotty, etc. I felt like a mushroom- fed stuff and kept in the dark about his diagnosis and treatment. The right hand never knows what the left hand is doing. Communication is negligible between doctors and nurses and family members. FINALLY GI consult was called in and things improved. We had excellent care by at least 2-3 doctors, but shoddy or mediocre care by many. Huge variety in nurses- some great and some not fit to be in nursing. In general, there was no one driving the ship in most of the 3 weeks we were there. They were out of many supplies- we brought paper towels from home (c diff requires constant hand washing) because they were out, took days to find bucket for potty chair, out of menus, llow on urinals, and my favorite- could not get a needed antibiotic due to "nationwide shortage". They found the antibiotic a week later when he was getting worse. I am on the antibiotic with the c diff that I contracted there. "Nationwide shortage" appears to have been a stretch. I could go on and on. Please, reconsider sending your loved one here. If you do, watch out for c diff and be prepared to advocate long and hard for care. read more

Entered emergency room 4:15 pm. Not too busy, several empty beds. Wife needed 4 units of blood. Received 2, then was transferred to regular room for a one night stay. Blood unit ordered at 5:30 am, to be given at 7:00am. The nurses were confused, and poorly trained. Communication was always NON-informing. Doctors were trying to always push unneeded meds and services. Nurses did not know doctors, nor were well-briefed on patient's program. We ended up staying over another day than should have. We were an opportunity for them to make money, and they were eager to boost the revenue at our expense. It was similar to buying a car at a dealership!! read more

When my primary care doctor retired, I was relegated to the status of "new patient" after 15 years with them. Because of this, I cannot see a doctor until the middle of June. These vertigo attacks may kill me by then. I think I will move over to UT Northeast. Christus says it is not personal. It is just policy. read more
