I gave Fiona a call and after all documentation was sent to her she was able to lock in an interest rate far under my expectations! I was at awe with the rate she locked in for me. After reviewing her loan application, Power Express Mortgage Brokers, decided to take the next step and ordered an appraisal on her property. Believing that were going to fund her loan after they sent her an estimate of loan costs to sign, she made an appointment with the appraiser of their choosing and paid for his services, which were the cost of $895.00. Although, it was a much higher rate than it should have been, she chalked it up to the cost of doing business. After a couple of weeks had passed, she hadn't heard a word from anyone from the Power Express Mortgage Company. She thought it was odd and decided call them. No one would speak to her regarding the status of her loan, and if they did, they had no idea what was going on with it. She continued to call for another month and still no letter of approval or disapproval.Again another month later she could not wait any longer and begged for someone to talk to her about her loan.It took a third month to get anyone to actually tell her what was going on with her loan. Much to her surprise and shock, she found out she had been turned down for the loan, because this particular company only contacted Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who work with mortgage loans that specialize in loans for owners who do not live on the property if there are rentals.From the inception of the loan they knew exactly where her income came from(the rentals) and that she lived on the property.They caused her a great amount of anxiety and of course the $895.00 appraisal.Do not go to this mortgage company and expect to be treated fairly and respectfully.

Once I arrived at the location I was told that they weren't in and that I called a different number. I called again and the same guy answers and when confronted he was confused and giving bogus excuses. If you can find a different notary location then I highly suggest going the extra mile to a different one.

She made it very clear that she "needed a rental", meaning she was more interested in the quick month's rent as her fee, instead of meeting the needs of the renter. I was very let down, and even when I tried to continue working with her - she stopped returning my calls and e-mails. You are not doing me a favor by helping me find an apartment. The real estate agents are the middle men getting in the way and taking a month's rent from me. I'll go somewhere else when I buy a house. Their loss.

In addition to their lack of professionalism there is an air of "entitlement". Went in to do my taxes, then realized I didn't want their services. Still charged me for services *not rendered*. If you're into being charged "for their time"- go here. If you'd like to do your taxes and/or deal with professionals- either do your taxes yourself (online quotes- they will be more accurate!) or find a Borough representative in your borough who will do them for you for free (they do taxes for folks dependent upon how much you make a year) or you can just go to the IRS and then do your state taxes yourself. Either way- you don't get anymore money from your tax return by going to these guys. And, since it's all about customer service-why give them your tax return/hard earned money if they'll treat customers horribly? Not worth it! Save your money and pay yourself first. Not someone who will gladly take your money for doing nothing. Pass!
