One of my favorite coffee spots in Atlanta! Love the coffee & ambience. Tried their cold brew today and it's good (though very strong!) I have come here a few times during the week and always found a spot to work. They provide free WiFi for 2 hrs. The only downside is parking. They only have a tiny (~4 spots) parking lot at front. You can probably find street parking on weekdays. But I wouldn't count on that over the weekend. read more

This place is definitely a staple on the Edgewood community. The ambiance and service is always relaxed and friendly. The coffee itself tastes great. I always get an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. They usually don't make their drinks as sweet and I like, but it's never a problem to ask them to add a little extra syrup. My only qualm is the price, 2 drinks for $15 seems kind of steep to me. But otherwise, it's a great place and I always stop buy when I'm in the area. read more

Over the past several years, it's been amazing to see how Chrome Yellow has grown, as well as the surrounding neighborhood. The coffee menu has also evolved and there are some great new options for everyone. I was lured in by the promise of bottled chocolate oat milk cold brew coffee and I wasn't disappointed. Definitely one of my favorite cold brew beverages out there! Nitro is smooth and lattes are well done - and will usually have latte art for you (although the pristine art is usually squished by the lid...). I love the seasonal drinks they promote from time to time on their Instagram, too, but the most recent I had, the Purple Rain, was a bit of a letdown. One, it wasn't exactly purple... and also tasted meh. The Rishi tea (blue jasmine tea) didn't really mix well with the oat milk but it was an interesting idea. And Chrome Yellow has a GORGEOUS photo of the Purple Rain on their Instagram page, so check it out! For me, I'm sticking to what I know and love - the chocolate oat cold brew coffee or one of their seasonal latte offerings! read more

Great coffee shop offering quality coffee, friendly smiles and good vibes. It's a popular spot and parking is extremely limited so if you come in your car, be prepared to find street parking. I would NOT recommend their matcha as it was one of the worst, sweetest matchas I've ever had. I recommend indulging in a iced americano (my drink of choice) or one of their specialty lattes (my partner's drink of choice) and a vegan donut (not made onsite but good nonetheless). They sell other trinkets and have great spaces to sit, chill, read or get some work done. If you're into good coffee, come here! If you plan on using the wifi all day heads up: a wifi code is required, they provide one at checkout if you ask and it expires after 2 hours. read more

Its has been a few years since I reviewed CY but not much has changed. As time has passed I've gotten to know the people that craft the drinks. I always know when Sawyer or Erin are behind the bar my drink will be phenomenal. I've also tried a few of their pastries and they have all been very good. If I'm not mistaken the pastries are from Ratio Bakery in Decatur. So instead of four stars CY gets five. Perfection when it comes to drinks and food. It also seems to be a meeting ground for people. Without fail I run into someone I know or I meet a new person. It also goes without saying CY is aesthetically pleasing. It's a great place to work. read more

Feels like LA! As a Southern California boy, born and raised, I can attest that besides serving up fine beverages Chrome Yellow Trading offers up West Coast vibes in the middle of Atlanta! Now don't take that for a bad thing: a trendy coffee shop with its own gift shop serving delicious caffeinated drinks with a casual outdoor seating area... what's not to love? If you're ever wondering what hipsters on the other side of the country are doing, just stop by and you'll get to live the experience yourself. I was able to get 2 drinks here: their lovely iced Chai Tea Latte and their potent Chocolate Almond Coldbrew. For that morning pick-me-up the coldbrew here will get you started right and for a lazy afternoon, nothing beats a sweet and flavorful chai. The staff is chill and accommodating and the merch they have on sale here is always fun to browse. Decent experience, just nothing spectacular. The parking situation here was a bit frustrating and confusing. It seems like a one way parking lot on the corner of a main street and a side street/cut-through. I had to park on the other end of Daniel Street, near the dog park. Fortunately that appeared to be free, just inconvenient. We made our trek to Chrome Yellow and the line was pretty long. It was very busy inside and cramped. We didn't have to wait an unreasonable amount of time to get to the front of the line though. The baristas weren't the most friendly and we felt rushed while ordering. I wrote it off as an off day because they were slammed with business. Friend and I had iced bourbon vanilla lattes with oatmilk. They were good, not special though. We couldn't taste any subtle bourbon flavors. We decided to come here since you can't find vanilla bourbon syrup at most coffeehouses, but I decided that I could get better coffee elsewhere next time I'm in the area. The interior was pretty cute and I'm sure it's a lovely experience when it's more quiet. read more

The London fog was quite good and the cheese empanada was ok but nothing super special. I wouldn't recommend this place for studying/working if that is what you are looking for. The Wi-Fi requires a code which you can ask the cashier for but the code does expire after two hours and sometimes the code doesn't work. I had to go up and ask for a second code which didn't work either, at which point I decided I should just leave and go elsewhere rather than continuously bugging the cashier. This was disappointing after spending 15 dollars which I could have done elsewhere. But I would go again if i wanted to meet someone to chat or read a book bc I think the quality was good and the vibe the cozy and pleasant. read more

I was looking for a local coffee shop in the area and stumbled across Chrome Yellow. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the limited parking. I ended up parking on the street, but the street is very narrow, so I wasn't very comfortable parking here. Once I entered, I didn't get a warm and fuzzy welcome. I was a bit confused on where to order and ended up asking a customer, who was picking up his order. I finally got in line and was trying to decide what to order. Some of the things on the menu weren't available, so I asked the barista for some guidance. I decided to go with the vanilla bourbon latte with oat milk. While my latte was being prepared, I looked around in their shop. It's a cute and cozy coffee shop. Once my order was finished, I didn't hear anyone say anything, although I heard them calling out orders. I decided to go to the counter and I had to ask the barista if it was my latte and she nonchalantly said, yes. Chrome Yellow reminds me of a hipster coffee shop you would find in Los Angeles, but instead its in Atlanta. With customized clothing and stickers you can buy this coffee shop is extremely aesthetic, has oat milk on the menu, and plenty of study space. I ordered the maple oat milk cold brew and it was absolutely delicious! Although not a fan of the $6-$7 price range, if I'm here to study I would definitely do it in a heart beat. Parking in their lot might be difficult depending on how busy it is, but there is street parking! I would advise coming here on a weekday, since I'm sure weekends get busy, or order a drink to-go! I wish I got the chance to try one of their vegan pastries but I was too full to begin with. read more

They have free, non time permitted parking in both the private lot form and a one way street block. So many options! I had an iced oat milk latte while plugging in my laptop and sitting at the bar, feet dangling with joy knowing and the free thought I will not be getting a ticket while enjoying my time here. Pure ecstasy, really. My latte was fantastic and gave me the most long lasting, casual yet effect caffeine buzz. It also paired oh so wonderfully with my Gluten Free banana muffin that was warmed and crisped to perfection. CYT has their own local Atlanta roasts, as well as Stumptown and Methodical for sale in bags at the counter. As wonderful as Stumptown is I would recommend shopping local at this one with the Chrome Yellow Trading roasts. Take a stroll around the cafe before plugging in or sitting down for breakfast. They have tons of cute merch including very hipster home decor and office options. Their stickers and mugs are very well branded and a little out of my price range but you got to treat yourself sometimes. I'd 100% recommend visiting this spot for a coffee with friends, plugging into work, meeting colleagues, writing to your long lost lover over seas, and rediscovering your passions in life. All I need to say is three simple words.... grapefruit coffee soda! This was a life changing experience. I was going to just get a regular old cold brew, but this coffee soda caught my eye. I know coffee sodas are making their rounds here in ATL right now, so I figured I'd give it a shot. There wasn't going to be tooooo much sugar in it, and Chrome Yellow makes theirs with a topo chico, which is always a good time. Ordering this drink was my single best choice of August 2020. The cold brew concentrate was OBVIOUSLY fabulous, the Topo Chico was as great as always, and the grapefruit syrup they used was just perfect. They put the perfect amount, the syrup was not too sugary - it complimented the floral coffee SO NICELY. Highly, highly recommend. I'm not sure if this is a seasonal rink or not, but I hope it's here to stay. The coffee soda was served in the topo chico bottle and it was so adorable to watch the barista try to fit it all back into the glass bottle. It was messy, but it was very much appreciated. I can't wait until I can work from CY again, but for now I will happily take this portable coffee soda for the road. YUM!!! read more

I loved this funky place. I had some time to kill between a business meeting and dinner so I stopped at YCT. Hipster alert: I was the oldest person in the coffee shop by a long shot and seemed to be the only one in the shop without cool tats and extraordinary hair. That said, the guy who took my order was super welcoming and guided me to the Lemon Ginger Coldbrew Soda. (Orange blossom water, lemon, coldbrew concentrate, and ginger beer.) Best tasting craft coffee in Atlanta! Plus they have almond milk (many craft coffee spots only have oat milk as their alternative milk option). Wifi code only lasts for 2 hours and then you need to buy more things for another code. Service is mellow and not in a rush. The coffee is the best though and I'm a regular here.
