It's an assembly line where you pick your style, add a base, protein, toppings and you're ready to go. I had a bowl (minus the taco shell) with chicken and all the different veggies, skipping the rice and beans so that I could maintain my keto diet. I brought it back to the hotel. The lady working today was friendly and changed her gloves after she finished some cleaning up. Nice to see that. My burrito was pretty decent, a good mix and flavorful. I'd have this again. Rolling through on the way to CO from NC. I was car sick the past day and this food revived me. The tortilla for the taco is fresh rolled, and all the ingredients are amazing. Only down side was no black beans, but they sure did make up for it. The brisket in the taco was superior to any other taco joint I've been to. I wish we were coming back this way on the way home because this place would get my money. This is like a Moes or salsaritas, but homemade everything. I wanted to go back for seconds. For the price you think they'd put more food on the Chubby Nachos. We had so many chips left over after trying to find the little bit of other ingredients we chose. Four to five different ladies made our order and honestly it didn't seem like any of them knew how much to put on any of it. I don't leave to many places feeling hungry but here I did. I ordered a $7.99 tex-mex salad in a taco bowl, it was a joke the 2 oz spoon of meat was enough for a 2yrs old, had to get the second spoon which cost $2.99 extra, and the queso cost $1.99 extra, But what really got it for me was the 7lbs of lettuce they placed in the bowl and the 1 ounce of cheese and the 2 teaspoons of tomato. For $14.00 plus tax, I could have had taco bell for 3 people and it would have had flavor to it. Worst food I ever ate, I won't never eat there again. read more

It is very typical bait and switch. A $6.99 burrito cost me $18.12. I asked if I could have half chicken half beef and she said that's called a mucho. She asked what I wanted on it so I picked guacamole and rice / beans. I asked if I could have cheaso on top so she put a spoonful and asked if it was enough so I asked for a little more. So, I was driving through Pampa, Texas and I had some time to kill that morning. I asked a few young locals (3) to recommend a place for breakfast. All recommended Chubby's and Plaza Restaurant. I drove down to Plaza Restaurant and I just wasn't feeling it. I went a little further down the road and pulled into the Chubby's parking lot. The manager/owner was in his truck out front and informed me they would not be open until 11. I was kind of bummed, but made up my mind that I'd just return later after running an errand. Wow, what a great decision. These guys make their tortillas fresh while you order. Then you get all the usual options to put in your freshly pressed and baked ginormous tortilla. (If you're familiar with Freebirds. It's a Monster sized tortilla made fresh for you.) I was hooked. Quality and taste of options for the burrito were great. If I'm ever in the Texas panhandle again I'll absolutely, positively be driving through Pampa just so I can get another burrito from these guys. They do offer more than just burritos. I have been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. I have also never had the food here to come back and haunt me in a few hours. I feel that's the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a small town Mexican food restaurant. Reminds me of a Qdoba where they make the tacos or burritos in front of you. The customer service was terrible and it was not clean in anyway. There was dirty trays on majority of the tables and flies everywhere. We did have a group of 10 bc we'rre a ream that played out of town and the ladies were very upset with us for not calling ahead even though was no one was there when we showed up and no one came til we left. I liked my food and felt fairly confident it was our best vegetarian option while traveling through Pampa. My son loved his chips and Queso. We were all impressed by their homemade tortillas. While everything was okay, it was somehow a bit underwhelming. This place has a ton of potential, but they seem to be sort of content with being just okay. Perhaps it's because some items don't look fresh or seem like they were recently made that I get that impression? I'm not sure if that's a fair assessment, but freshness is always appealing. Maybe I like seeing guacamole made as ordered or other items being cooked periodically to convince me of this? I would also like to see the place have a little more seating and keep bathroom items like soap and paper products stocked. In summary, please check this place out- help them get better! read more

Their tortillas are amazing and they cook the dough right in front of you. I just wish they had some healthier alternatives. They're going for like a chipotle scene but their options aren't very fresh or healthy. I will say their brisket is awesome though and staff is always friendly. read more

We were traveling through Pampa and decided to stop in and grab a bite. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and patient as they explained how we needed to order. The burritos were very large and filling and tasted excellent. For four us the total bill was $29. It is hard to even eat at McDonalds that cheaply. Good friendly service is the start to every visit to Chubby's. I've only had the burrito but tacos and salad bowls are also offered. The tortilla is pressed fresh right in your view. Chubby's offers plenty of fresh toppings; grilled onions/ peppers, lettuce, cheese, grilled and pickled jalapeños, pico de gallo, and corn cover most everything. First time to try this restaurant, went for lunch. Wet Paint signs posted as we entered the building. Which is odd to paint during business hours. Building was fairly clean, food looked fresh. I ordered the Tex mex bowl with beef. It was soooo salty! My husband ordered the same but with shredded beef. It too was incredibly salty. We actually joked about the salt through out the meal. Chips were stale. Don't know if it was a fluke since I've never eaten here or not. If it's always like this, low sodium peeps beware, this food will send you over the top! Excellent little place to get a massive burrito. Like CMG except less expensive. Fresh tortilla cooked right on the spot to make it soft and warm. Had the fajita chicken and the flavor was good. Not excess salt which is a problem with a lot of fajita seasonings. Owner was friendly and came out to make sure we were happy. I am so full on 7.00 I may not have to eat for a day or two.
