I am not sure if the accountant that I met with was incompetent, a crook, or both…read more I started a business in 2016 and I went to here have them file the taxes and adjustments to my books. When making adjustments to my books for 2016 he left several items that would need to be "cleaned up" the next year. Thus, making more work for himself next year if I would be a returning customer. He also made a very concerning entry for 2017 that essentially hid thousands of dollars. I am not sure what his intention here was. There are only two reason I can think of why this would have been done: 1.) Again, creating more work for himself next year, or 2.) It was an attempt to steal. To top it all off I found several errors on the tax forms, which showed that there was very little attention to detail. Luckily I noticed this before anything was filed.

I had a good experience with Henton & Associates last year, however, this year I did not. I was in…read morea hurry to have my taxes done because I was trying to secure a rate lock on a home loan and my lender required my tax return (to use my rental property as income). I was told it would take 2-3 weeks to have my taxes completed, so that is what I expected. When I emailed my final tax documents over I asked to please forward my taxes back to me as soon as they are available and said why I was in a hurry for them. After 4 weeks I sent an email asking for an update of the status. I didn't hear back so after 6 more days, I sent an email asking someone to please respond to my previous message. Someone responded back later that day saying that my taxes were in the mail that day, which was good, but it took 5 weeks total. Interest rates are climbing quickly right now and this also delayed me in being able to start looking. It was frustrating. When I received my invoice, the cost had gone up by 28.5% from last year, which no one had previously mentioned to me. It doesn't feel good to pay more for a lesser quality experience. I emailed them last week after receiving the invoice to let them know how I felt and even outright asked them to consider discounting the cost and didn't get a response. I paid the invoice today, so that I could post my review. Will never go back!
