Delicious burgers. Tried this place on a whim and it was great. Highly recommend. Fun atmosphere on New Years Day.

My husband and I were traveling and spent the night in Salina. We looked online for a place to eat and Chuck's popped up so we thought we'd give it a try. The parking lot and all around the building was full so we knew it must be a good place. It was a Friday evening, the bar was packed with people but we found a table. Our server was new so she had not yet had the opportunity to tell us what was good but she was an excellent server. We ordered the rattlesnake eggs, and prime rib sandwiches. The food was great and our server stopped many times while we were there to inquire if we needed anything. Next time through Salina we will definitely stop here. read more

We stumbled in here on a drive between Colorado and Texas. One of few restaurants open after 9pm. It was sports bar, so I was not expecting much. But low and behold, great burger (bison available to my surprise), good hot waffle fries and friendly bartender who was not exasperated that we arrived just before closing. Would recommend for even a finicky eater like myself. Food presentation was superb. Again, a huge surprise since we arrived late. Cook could have easily just thrown on plate and closed up, but it was served with deliberate artistic pride :) read more

Pros: Nice atmosphere and clean restrooms at lunchtime. Waffle fries were good and waitress was pleasant. Cons: wasn't busy when we visited but it took quite a while for our food to arrive. Hubs wrap was soggy and fries were super cold. My salad was ordered minus meat and cheese. They took off the chicken but failed to skip the cheese. I was surprised to be charged the full price for the salad when it was minus the largest cost (meat). Not the norm in my experience. read more

The food is pretty good here. They have some unique offerings; trash-can nachos, hangover fries. It's not what I'd call "typical" bar food. A lot of it seems homemade. The spicy garlic wings, and the Cuban are super delish. But, they really need to work on the service. 2 seperate occasions, 2 different waitresses, both were terrible. 1 never even checked on us, before or after our food came. She walked by our table several times, but was busy "chatting up" other customers. We had to go to her to tell her we needed our checks. The 2nd one was terribly slow, and could only complain to us about her toothache, and "forgot" to put in the 2nd page of our order, so we waited 45 minutes for chips and salsa!! Stopped here on a cross country drive from boston to LA while driving clear across Kansas. You can tell it's a local hot spot, the inside was super crowded mid week at lunch time m. We loved that they had a little outside area (that was empty as it was a little chilly) and we were able to have a quiet lunch with my friends service dog , he enjoyed the time outside as well as the burger they made for him! Our food was great too.. We both got wraps and a delicious cider that I've been on the hunt for ever since! Not as good as it used to be. Food that is. How hard is it to make a plain slider or hamburger. My wife asked for plain sliders. Reminded the waitress to ensure they were plain. Stopped in for dinner on our way back to Missouri from Colorado. I ordered the chili which was good and the waffle fries were very tasty. I found Chuck's on Yelp and it said "good for kids" - and it ended up being fine for my 9 year old, but no accommodations for babies. I went with a friend last Wednesday. We went to check out the Mountain Oysters. They were GREAT!! We had some at another place last week and these were SOOOOO much better!! They also have NAB, which really sold the place for me. I've seen the Garbage Bucket Nachos before, but Haven;t tried them yet. I want one more time with the Oysters. Then the Nachos! Our wait person was really terrific, too! We stuck around after we ate to visit and she got us water and kept the glasses full. So really good food and excellent service. We were in from out of town and struggling to find something open on New Year's Day and luckily found Chuck's! This place has great decor, a diverse menu and huge portions. Made a pit-stop here on our way home to KC to watch the basketball game. This place is super spacious, clean, with huge tv's everywhere. We sat at the bar and we were greeted by Brandon who offered great meal suggestions from each category. We both went with the buffalo burgers that were perfectly complimented with the jalapeño jam. This place is very good to eat or have beverages. They have a full bar and quite a few beers on tap. Ordered chicken wings that were cooked and seasoned great. Also ordered the rockey mountain oysters which were very good. I'm not sure what they call them in the menu but they were good, they came with fries. My wife got a salad and potato soup. We thought we'd give this a try while we were in town, based on Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! We shared the reuben with home fries and okra and the Dunker burger with potato salad. The okra was perfectly cooked and tasty. It did need a bit of salt, but I'd rather add some than have something come out too salty to begin with. The reuben was not as "stacked" as the menu indicated but it was full of flavor. The burger was the clear winner! The grilled onions on 2 smaller beef patties between toast was DELICIOUS dunked in the au jus that came on the side. It was like a cross between au jus and a brown beef gravy. So good! The potato salad was pretty average, on the mustardy side with just a tinge of sweetness. Nothing special but not bad. The decor is hunter cozy...we liked it. We had a very pleasant, smiling, helpful server...forgot her name, but she was great. Hopefully we'll have a chance to stop in again. read more

In Salina overnight looking for someplace we could get the Bronco game. This place was perfect for what we were looking for. TEN big screen TV's willing to put what ever game u want on(even racing) although KC was playing so that is what was on majority of TV's. The special was wings (husband loves wings) so we got a dozen and they were some of the best wings we have gotten anywhere. Meaty, great flavor, not over done all around good wings. Also got an order of fried mushrooms and they really hit the spot. Cold beer good service(they knew we were here for the game so they took care of us without being intrusive). Couldn't ask for a better place to watch a game and get some tasty snacks almost wish I were up for a meal. Highly recommend if you live here or are just passing through. read more

I have been here three times. The upgrades are really nice but the service has been really poor. The food is good but really need to find some decent servers to get the food out. We have been to Chuck's about four times now. When we got food it was good, Reuben sandwiches, burgers, fries and appetizers were all above average. However...two times we have been there and have not gotten any service at all for about 20-30 minutes. One time inside and one time out on the patio. No servers in sight. We got our own drinks but no one even stopped by the table to say "hi" those two times. So we will not be going back again. read more
