The pizza crust was terrible! We ordered hand tossed, which we've had before, and this crust was even thinner than actual thin crust pizza! UPDATE: www brought it to the waitresses attention and she said it was hand tossed crust. Later i stopped a male employee that had come out from the kitchen. When I started to point out the crust he seemed to already know what I was talking about and said he would bring another pizza. Obviously, the waitress had reported it to the kitchen, but no one came out to correct the problem until I flagged a person down to complain a second time. While I'm pleased to get the pizza replaced, it wasn't until we had already eaten half of the first pizza and only then because I complained a second time. read more

Went out for my dad birthday, we were seated with a big group so we understood the little wait. Had a good menu and lots of choices. If you do get the Chicken & Mac, ask for extra sauce, if not it will come out dry. Had to wait to eat, silverware came out after food. After the Boz Skaggs show on Nov 2, we stopped by for a drink. Server/Bartender had a very bad attitude. Passed on taking our order and went to customers who arrived a few minutes after us. No way she would have missed us. Another employee took our order and gave it to her. My husband got his drink and I never got mine. lt felt deliberate. She wasn't busy at all. We watched her on the other end of the bar as we waited for her to mix my drink. Never happened. But she was DIGGING BOTH FINGERS INTO HER TEAR DUCTS. That's when I decided I didn't want her mixing anything for me. As we got up to leave I calmly let her know my husband didn't touch his drink and that we were leaving. As we turned to walk away we heard a loud slam. Another pair of customers came in a few minutes before we left, they saw her antics. There was an hour to 45 minutes before OC closing time when we got there. I've read the reviews and there are some bad ones for this establishment. My last few visits have been good but this particular visit was a very bad experience for this paying customer. read more

Stopped in after driving all day from Tennessee before we head to our hotel for the night. We had the chi trio. All very good. I'm very happy the red sauce came on the side as I'm not a fan. I had the chicken apple walnut salad and it was very good. Hubby had the wings. Asked for them to be naked and they were served sauces. He did admit they were still very good. We use to love Old Chicago. Then management change a year or so ago. Since then it's been getting worse and worse. Service is slow. Our appetizers were short on count and I was the last to get my meal after they forgot to put in with the rest of the order. Waitress to the manager took zero ownership. We were in Salina for a day and, when we visit new places, we check out their pizza scene (as well as coffee and bookstores). Old Chicago did not disappoint! We went early-ish on a Tuesday, so no crowed and the staff was just begging for people to sit and eat! We were promptly seated and served. Riley was our server and see was on top of it: getting our drinks, recommending items, and all with the friendliest of demeanors. We ordered a large hand-tossed crust pizza with mushrooms, onion, and half sausage and a short order of buffalo wings (5 wings). The food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. A large pizza there is not a huge NYC-sized pie. 8 moderate pieces, but the hand tossed crust was amazing, in you like a slightly thicker crust with and nice handle of dough to hold on to on the outside ring. The toppings were plentiful and no need for extra cheese. The sauce has a touch of a kick to it on its own, but mixes really will with the toppings. The wings were meaty enough and the buffalo sauce was superb. And if you go, try to sit in Riley's section. She checked on us often (but not too often) and would sing here questions, "How's it all TASTing?" etc. So pleasant and who knew we'd get a show with dinner? All in all, a great experience in Salina (along with so many other places we visited that day). read more

First timer! The wait wasn't too bad. We got to our booth but the chair was dirty. We went ahead and ordered. I got the Farmers Daughter and was actually very good! I got it hand-tossed in individual. The server was nice but did forget a couple things like my co-workers sauce and napkins. We had to remind them a few times till we got it. We've had the opportunity to visit Old Chicago twice. The first time was at a location in Wichita. That was some time ago, and I did not write a review, and honestly, I can't recall the experience. So, that being said, I decided to try the local one here in Salina. Let me preface my review, by letting you all know, that I've been to Chicago, IL a few times, and have had the pizza at Lou Malnati's. Because of that, I had a few expectations about what I would experience during our visit to Old Chicago. And I can tell you, my experience was exactly as I had expected. We stopped into Old Chicago, and was given a limited menu. Ok, This is understandable given the current situation. We decided on the "Chicago Thick" pizza, which I naturally assumed was a deep dish pie, similar to that which you would actually find in Chicago. Turns out I was wrong. When I asked if they could make my pie the actual way they do in Chicago, you know, with the sauce on top. They said that that was not possible with the pizza I ordered, and they did have one that was a "Deep Dish" that was made that way, however, they could not make that one. Turns out, the "Deep Dish" was removed from the menu and is not planning a return of any kind. So, we ordered the "Chicago Thick" which came out in record time. And let me tell you it was very thick. The crust was well over 1 1/2" thick. It lacked a decent layer of sauce. In fact, at some point, we were dipping our "pizza" into the sauce that came with the garlic bread and cheese sticks we ordered. The cheese layer was acceptable, and the toppings were a bit over cooked. Now, a little background... Old Chicago pizza was founded in Boulder, CO. Old Chicago does NOT have ANY locations in the Chicago area, and to be honest, I doubt they could survive in Chicago. There are MANY misconceptions about Chicago Pizza. The biggest one is that because it's a deep dish pie, that the crust is thick. It's really not. It may be thicker than a NY Style crust, but what we got at Old Chicago had mostly bread with a scant amount of sauce, and an adequate amount of toppings. I can say that I won't be eating there again. I will, however, plan another trip to Chicago, and stopping off at Lou Malnati's. In the mean time, I will be making my own pizza's at home. read more

Went in today about 3:30. Ordered drinks and an appetizer and asked our waiter if we would have drinks and appetizer first then order a pizza. No bartender at the bar and we waited 10 minutes then I saw someone come from the kitchen to the bar, chewing and wiping her mouth with her hand. Our waiter came by and we asked for our drinks. He said he told her and she was going to start them. Waiter said our spinach dip appetizer was almost done and asked for our meal order. So we ordered our pizza even though we wanted to have our drinks a appetizer first. The drinks came. My Margarita was terrible! The mix tasted old and no salted rim. Dip was ok and the pizza nothing special. Second time we have tried and disappointed both times. Maybe bartender needs to review health codes and making a good margarita. No, Friday was cold but Saturday afternoon was nice, took lady there to eat,the patio was Saturday afternoon because of sun but not all the time,pub Irish crawl was that day,the staff was super nice and when you meet lady, you would luv her too just like the staff,I forgot I'm not Olathe, where happy hour is seven days and here it's just Monday to Friday,the building is nice and two ways to get in,nice parking lot in the back, easy to get in and out,just finished a mini tour and had to explain to server what to do, I don't mind helping out, as a mug member wanting other guests to have the same experience I had, looking forward to go back read more

Best beer location in Salina, hands down. At 40 taps, they have about double what nearest competitors have, with very strong selection of central Kansas beer including Defiance (my favorite), Three Rings, and Blue Skye down the block. The "Chicago deep" pizza is in the style of Uno Pizzeria franchises, which is not actually Chicago style, but it's satisfying. They also have other crust styles. Good lunch value with personal pizza bottomless salad. Wings also solid. Antacids helpful with their whole menu though... But mainly I'm here for the beer, good happy hour deals, and great weeknight late night deals (half off!). Very busy, long waits during peak times, so happy hour and late night is way to go. read more

However, without missing a beat, one of the managers, Andrew, had already come out with 2 fresh pizzas and said there was a mix up in the kitchen. So, we ended up with 2 pizzas to go on the house !
