We called one place and went there. It was a bust. We tried a second place, and we would need a consultation first. The last place I saw on yelp was the Dead Hamster tattoo besides the fact that he's a veteran and we saw some of his previous work, which included a Hinata tattoo (huge coincidence). We called, and he just had a cancellation (another coincidence) and took us in. The place is COVID compliance and super clean!! They wipe down everything in between sessions. The artist, Ryan Swift, is incredible and a perfectionist!! He adjusted the placement three times until we got the right spot. His apprentice Sara (forgive me if I didn't get your name right) was also amazing!! They def have great equipment, and he uses an iPad for the drawings, and they came out awesome!! They make you feel right at home. I watched the Naruto movie for the first time during the session. It put me at ease. They also started playing the Moana soundtrack, and it was awesome!! I am beyond elated that this place was above and beyond my expectations! The only sucky part was how COVID requirements dont allow walk ins or over the phone appointments. You would need to contact the tattoo artist through their Instagram account. Luckily we had a great pair of artists that were patient with us for our schedule! My best friend Marie chose a random mandala on the internet for us. We also chose Debo as our artist because of how awesome his stuff was on Instagram! (d3380 is his Instagram account, just fyi!) He didnt mind being able to do ours one after the other! So we sent him the picture she found and formulated his own beautiful/original version of one! I wanted him to add beads to mine and he made that come out beautifully as well! He was super patient with us. Firstly, we were 10 mins late which i hated but he understood what happened prior to. Then, i kept switching if i wanted my shoulder or forearm before finally settling on my forearm. And then, when it was Maries turn, we kept chatting away like crazy that it took a bit longer for her to even get started and i made her move too much. Our poor guy! Lol. The other artist David Glim did one for my husband before us. Magnificent work! We did the same picture submission and made it that much better! We are super super satisfied aboht our new tats and i cant wait to come back for touch ups on an old one and add water colors to my mandala!

I asked her who was her artist and her exact words "Eric Melendez is the only artist I go to". Of course after the conversation and some research, it lead me to this awesome establishment. Dapper Ink, these guys know their craft with no sense of arrogance. Everyone is warm and welcoming. This friendly staff listens to each clients request, and advises them with their professional evaluation. I was in El Paso for 3 years and I became a regular because of their hospitality. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The quality of work is superb. The environment feels clean and homey.

There's this awesome tree in the middle of the open room that's in between some other tattoo artist stations. You can also tell the owner is military affiliated with a board of military patches and a military grade rocket launcher. That's always fun to see! Sarah was the tattoo artist for my bestie Marie and I! She is PHENOMENAL and would recommend her to anyone for their tattoos! Whether it's their first or 100th tattoo, she will kick ass with it!! She really listens to what you want and was able to help bring my vision to life with a series of pictures to use as reference. Her skills and ability to do her fine line tattooing and shading just made everything MAGICAL. I pretty cried happy tears looking at this Sailor Moon silver crystal shining on my arm! Later I found out he was hungover, which explained a lot. His excuse for being late was that he's a "heavy sleeper." Despite that, I decided to go through with the tattoo since I had already paid a large deposit and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt -- he seemed like an honest person at first. Unfortunately, the quality of the tattoo was very disappointing. It was all shading with zero line work, and when I asked, he said it was "just the first session." I had already paid for the second session in advance, but ever since then, he's completely ignored all my messages when I tried to book. Overall, it was an unprofessional and frustrating experience, and I wouldn't recommend getting work done by him.
