DO NOT GO HERE. Steve works up front in customer service and is the most un-empathetic, rude and condescending individual to have working customer service. He judges you for not having money, having a poor relationship with the person that passed and thinks it's HIS business how much money you have. I will make sure to tell everyone what kind of people work here and to STEER CLEAR. We entrusted Church and Chapel for the funeral of our Mom. We consulted with Megan at their Brookfield office. She was clearly quite patient with us (6 or so family members attended) and she assisted in making an excellent plan for our family. We held our Celebration of Life and the attention to detail and service was superb. Mom received a great celebration with pictures, music, video, and the warmth and love of all who attended. The staff was brilliant. My family had always used a different funeral home when I was growing up, when they closed their doors, the owner suggested we contact Church and Chapel. Since the change to Church and Chapel they have assisted my family with losses such as the unthinkable at 1 day old, the traumatic loss of a teen and numerous elderly family members. The care and compassion we experienced was second to none. The staff is compassionate, caring and the attention to detail each time is amazing. They were not there just to sell us a funeral, they truly helped us through the grieving process and were so accommodating to what we were going through for each of the passings. My 95 year old Mother pre-arranged her funeral through Church & Chapel a few years ago. When she passed at 98 I found working with C&C frustrating. First I was dealing with the office help, Wendy, who was great! Then as the funeral got closer I was dealing Kevin Jorgenson, funeral director, who did pretty much nothing. Never called back when he said he would. Didn't seem to know anything nor want to do anything with regard to dealing with the church which my Mom had prepaid for! I was supposed to do it all even though I live in AZ. Made an insensitive remarks about having siblings to help with the luncheon - they are deceased. He talked and talked but never said anything. Then on the day of the funeral, there is a misspelling of of my Mother's last name on the church program. I forget the fellows name from C&C, but he comes up to me and BLAMES MY MOTHER SAYING IT WAS HER LAST JOKE!!! because even though it was corrected months ago, they were going by some handwritten obituary my Mother gave them that was full of errors... she was 95 for god's sake! Plus, that wasn't one of her errors! It wasn't the error, but the blaming of my Mother for Church & Chapels mistake! TACKY TACKY! TACKY! Also hole for cremains wasn't dug large enough for the container. I wanted to be there when she was buried, but couldn't. Go somewhere else because you'll be doing all the work or it won't get done. read more

Sadly I have buried my late husband at age 46, and both my parents. They were from Illinois and that funeral home and directors were extremely professional and we could not have been more comforted in the quality of service we experienced to say good bye to our loved ones. In the last two week we had to say good bye to another young friend, at age 26. I called Church and Chapel to see if his body had arrived from Scottsdale, AZ. The person on the phone called out...."Hey, has "so and so's" body gotten here yet?, "Did the paperwork even get signed yet.?" (When I knew from this end of the arrangements it had been flown home a few days prior.) Very unprofessional! At the service he looked beyond awful in the casket, unrecognizable, disheveled and that is not how he was in life. He didn't even have his black formal clothes on that we sent with him from Arizona. Perhaps the service was based on what the family could afford but I still know it cost thousands and thousands. At the cemetery there was no green turf carpet for the grandma to walk on. She cried because of this. No dignity. Just a hole dug with the dirt sitting there. Funeral homes are a huge for profit business. This funeral home lacks the ability to lay your loved one to rest in dignity and compassion and give the family peace. I am beside myself. read more

Sudden Death... The hardest Thing to Endure. A man named Hunter came and transported my Mother from her residence after she was found deceased. Came to me using My first name with direct condolence's. His demeanor gave me an immediate peace! The funeral director Wendy from the minute I walked through the doors gave me a sense of empathy. She allowed me to talk so that I could share some stories about my mother. She made me laugh several times which was so stress relieving. I felt as if she was a friend not a funeral representative. I was very pleased with the hours They took with Our family. Listened to us and we Never once felt rushed or talked into services, items we didn't desire. Beth, the funeral counselor with her Christmas decorated cane made me smile When I'd rather cry! The cost was most reasonable for the value of service that was provided! I cannot express enough my gratitude toward this funeral home for providing me with the most favorable experience during this most awful time. Thank You! read more

Our family has used Church & Chapel's services for 20+ years. Unfortunately, we have attended many of their facilities, but each time we experienced compassionate, caring staff. Their attention to detail while planning my Grandma's funeral was phenomenal! They helped us through the grieving process and were so accommodating. We really enjoyed that there was a Kitchen that we could use and private seating areas when we needed a break from it all. I would highly recommend Church & Chapel's services, they are a class act! read more

Removal staff: Not appropriately dressed, unfamiliar with how to use a gurney (wth?), and put Papa on it backwards. Maybe they need to have a local nurse come in and teach them how a gurney works and why you don't put a person's head on the foot rest? The Meeting at the Funeral Home: Kevin Martinetti, the director who met with us to do the arrangements was OK, professional, but did not follow up with our family regarding problems after the funeral. The Cemetery: The director, Mr. Donald Wenzel, was atrociously unprofessional. Church and Chapel really dropped the ball. Grandma's headstone was covered up by astroturf, so we had to roll that off of her. The hearse got there fifteen minutes before the burial was about to begin. (We have been there an hour). Mr. Wenzel had forgotten the pallbearer gloves. He had the audacity to go back to the hearse as soon as the casket was on the grave, to sit in the warm heat (it was winter, but not single digits), while the military honors did their thing. He did not say anything to our family, just ignored us. He just asked the cemetery guy "What are we doing here?" I could have asked Mr. Wenzel the same thing. We paid for a full service funeral. VA Honors Tea: Great job. Burial Ceremony: "cringe-worthy." We had to go find a gravedigger, since Don Wenzel was busy with the heat on in his hearse. When we did, they came over with a friggin' sump pump, because apparently Papa's grave was filled with FEET OF WATER. Since there was no communication with the funeral director and our family, the cemetery guy started pumping away, dumping the excess water... on the graves of the other members of our family. Fantastic. This is when Mr. Wenzel decided to get out of his warm hearse. To watch the gravedigger use a broom to try and position the vault down in the grave "because his shovel was too short." Mr. Wenzel decided to stand on Grandma's headstone to do so. Good thing I had cleared her headstone off from the astroturf carpeting and dirt so he'd have something nice and clean to stand on, hey? Overall: 0/5 stars, would not recommend to my worst enemy. (Except for the honor guard, they were great. But the cemetery coordinated that, not the funeral home for some reason.) read more

Years ago we planned grandma's funeral and had Don W. as the director. Granny had prepaid on in full but we were told that casket not available and would need to pay more... The family still has such BAD memories of this and have told others. Post a bad review on C & C site and they remove, sent letters to the owner regarding and no replys. Don seen to it that the family paid more for casket talked family out of going from home to church for service apparently more cost and procession would be hard to do, and to get the cemetery would be easier to meet there after the service at the home was over...wow. Day of service at C & C home, Don arrives, missing visitation and late for service finishes buttoning shirt, putting on tie and suit coat, family had concerns with casket wood was dinged up, edges missing some pieces,- never got chance to discuss with him regarding - he was so late. We know it will not be seen again.... but still. Hearse furnished he told us he could do at n/c, we should have paid for one vs rough looking, paint blisters, looks like should have been retired. Family waited at cemetery for hearse, well got lost on the way.....Don should have known where they were going. The only thing that was good was not with C & C, The staff at the cemetery went above and beyond to help and assist family for graveside, there was some snow, Don...well he was by the hearse having a laugh with the driver. Have told many others of bad experience, very sad. I guess the saying goes you get what is paid for. read more

When my father died in a local nursing home, I chose Church & Chapel for cremation. I was VERY impressed with their staff - When they arrived to pick up his body, I was still with him. They were gentle, allowing me more time, and then they respectfully removed him from the nursing home. I picked Church & Chapel because I thought it would be the least expensive option - I still believe it was - but I was not expecting to be treated with such compassion. I lost my Mom on June 19, 2014 and 2 days later lost my Grandma (My Mom's Mom). The day my Mom died, my Sister decided to go with Church & Chapel. So we went the following day to set my Mom's funeral. We gave them a picture of my Mom, told them exactly how we wanted my Mom to look as far as her make-up (just like the picture provided, only difference we wanted was her hair color and we provided that as well). Kevin the Funeral Director "Highly" recommended Pastor Tom Griffey, I had been to another funeral just a few months prior and loved how the Pastor gave a beautiful life story/eulogy of the deceased and with this being my Mom's funeral, I wanted the best! My sister said let's go with Pastor Tom because less for us to worry about as well as he was highly recommended. Then the next day my Grandma died. So my Aunt & Uncle went also to Church & Chapel. We decided it would be fitting to have both my Mom & Grandma laid out together at the funeral. We thought it would be a beautiful thing. Not at all! First of all they only gave $500.00 discount to my Aunt & Uncle for my Grandma's part of the funeral. We had already paid for using the funeral home for the service of my Mom. The only thing different was that we added my Grandma to that planned service, nothing extra. I got to C & C Funeral Home 30 minutes before the service. I went up to the two caskets to view my Mom & Grandma, I was and still am horrified! NEITHER of them were recognizable. Their make-up was atrocious, the eye liner on my Mom went way beyond her eyelid on both eyes! All I could think to say was....."WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE"! THIS WILL BE CONTINUED with more, I've run out of time to finish, working a full time and part time jobs. P.S. Mr. Larsen was on vacation with his family at the time we planned my Mom's Funeral and again on vacation 3 weeks after the funeral. I found that out after speaking with an employee of church & Chapel and I asked if Mr. Larsen would call me, HE NEVER DID! read more

I was very naïve to funeral planning and I'm sorry to say that they were not helpful at all. Just remember that if you have life insurance, this can pay for part of the funeral, this funeral home didn't want us to know about this service. Our life insurance company informed us! I wouldn't recommend them at all!!!! read more

When my father passed away, they were very good. Sensitive to our feelings and sympathetic. We had no complaints. A couple of years later when my mother passed away it was a totally different experience. My mother had very little insurance and they insisted we pay the bill up front or use another funeral home. My mother was already at church and chapel so we didn't want to have to move here some where eles. They said they would give us until the next day to pay or decide where to have her transported to. We ended up taking out a loan and paying to have her funeral stay there. I have since found out that most funeral homes give you 5 or 6 months to pay after the funeral. Considering what you go through when a loved one passes, you would think that they would work with you on paying for this service. For this reason I will never use there service again. With that said, they did do a very good job on the funeral service. read more
