My husband and I were so addicted to Churros with chocolate when we were in Madrid and we randomly visited Churrería Chocolatería 1902. When we were there, a couple who lives in Madrid told us Churrería Chocolatería was their favorite Churrería here and they came every weekend before church. Their churros were chunky inside with crispy layer and their chocolate dipping wasn't too sweet and creamy. They served a good variety of pastries which look delicious but we didn't have chances to try. They also sell chocolate in their brand which is good as a souvenir.

Very busy cafe and the line to get in was very long. They are known for their churros and chocolate. The churros were very good, but I did not like the chocolate specifically when you compare it to other cafes we went to in Madrid. Fast service and staff are very nice. Prices are very cheap.

If San Gines is too busy and packed..I would recommend this place.. first time in Madrid and this place did not disappoint.. not too busy and staff are very welcoming.. we got churros and porras (large churros) with warm hot chocolate.. just wow.. you have to try..

Wow this hot chocolate was like a pudding, so delicious. I'm so sorry I didn't have a second cup. It was an excellent choice!

Arrived 15 min before opening and there was already a line. Made it in on the first seating which was great. Was asked to visit their bar first as they slowly made their way through bringing people in to the restaurant to dine. Felt pressured ot order a drink, which I didn't really want to, so I didn't like this flow of entry to bar, to restaurant. Fortunately the drinks were tasty and very theatrical. Was eventually escorted into the restaurant. Seating is like a giant oval around an open kitchen. Energy is electric, loud, stimulating. Almost feels like your dining outside in a street food alley with neon signs everywhere. The food consisted of fusion and/or modern interpretations of street food classics from across Asia, and other parts of the world too. Highlights for us included the crudo japo-mexican de salmon and chili crab concha blanda. We did find that there was a high degree of citrus and thought that the tako de pulpo was a bit too acidic. For the bun cha shawarma, the noodles were okay but the beef burger and crispy Vietnamese rolls were yummy.

The Techno music is loud so just be aware of that. I loved it and couldn't stop dancing in my seat. It is first come first serve. Regis told me to go as soon as they opened. Even then, we got one of the last seatings by the bar where all the action is. It was so much fun seeing all the chefs and sous chefs shouting and working in harmony. Our server was amazing in recommending many of the dishes and drinks. I also got a kick out of their cool straight jacket chef's attire. One word to describe the food here; it is very avant-garde (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Singapore). Our favorite dish of the night was the Vieira Asada (scallop with a green sauce). Honestly, I don't think you will go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Love how they describe each dish as they present it to you. I also never had the bartender come by and take the time to describe the drink in great detail. Truly an amazing unique meal from start to finish. I do recommend that you get a bit dressed up. And don't forget to take a fun selfie on the leather cushion swings. 10/10 Experience

Before going…read morewe knew they had a Gluten Free menu but didn't realize just how seriously they take allergies. Waitress was fabulous! She asked about allergens while taking our drink order. Made great suggestions for Italian wine and beer. When she brought a tasting plate with mortadella and a bread basket she pointed out to our celiac son that his GF bread was on the way - and wow! He was so impressed with his own warm HF baguette (separate packing clearly showed it was GF) Basically the entire Italian menu has available GF options which made dining a delight for my son (probably over ordered for himself but had snack for the next day!). Delicious pastas (bolognese was so tasty!) and pizzas (crisp and chewy crusts on both regular and GF). Every part of our evening was delightful.

Spain has the best GF bread; not sure why other countries can't replicate the breads. From the bread, to the pasta, to the soups, I just can't say enough good things. The majority of the menu is GF. The ambiance, the staff, the location are all perfect, and I have mentioned the food? I traveled with a pescatarian and a non-foodie, and we all loved every bite of every dish. Flavia deserves all the Michelin Stars and more. You should definitely experience it for yourself. #1sassytravler #flavia

It's common to have a 3 course meal during this time of the day. This place has a good mix of locals and tourists and friendly staff (who answered our ridiculous tourist questions about their Spanish menu), great ambience and phenomenal food. We ordered from the daily menu even though we contemplated with the five star menu offered through gastrofestival and we were happy with the food we got! It was roughly 19euros per person for the daily set lunch. In Spain you have to pay for water at your meals. (Tip: no harm in bringing your gigantic hydroflask when travelling) We were given a complimentary bread that had a variety of different breads and house made mayo-based dips that we're all delicious. Your meal will end with either a coffee or a dessert. Beginning to end, I enjoyed my meal through and through!
