After taking the gondola to the top of the mountain, we decided to ski/take the train (we're a party of 11) to Chami-Hitta. I would imagine on a snowy day like when I went, it is far better off to ski to this location. The trail was a little narrow for my liking when we took the train and trail. But after what was supposed to be a 15 minute walk to restaurant (it took me, my husband carrying a sleeping 2 year old, and my mother-in-law about 30 minutes down the trail...we called it the trail of tears - don't walk, ski!)
Upon arrival we found the rest of our family sitting at our reserved tables. I wish they reserved tables near the panoramic windows but at this point, we were just so happy to be there.
The food here was decent. I order the apple streudel (a must try) and the mushroom risotto (flavors were delightful). My husband order the croque monsieur...it's not what we're used to in the States, but still good.
The service and the people who work here are the real stars of this place. With 6 adults and 5 kids, they really did an amazing job of making us feel welcomed. Our server was truly the best.
The ambiance of this place was very quaint. It felt like we were in a log cabin. The relaxing gnomes in the front were very cute. read more
