She even went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable, inviting both my dogs in to say hello! I have been walking by almost daily since moving back to the city. Anything that Monica felt was beyond her scope, she made sure to listen carefully; strategically approaching the challenges I presented with a "let's find out together!" approach, rather than acting "too busy" or worse, turning the questions back on me and making me feel insecure. I love that it is a physical location, a quick walk away from where I currently live for problem solving with a real human. Opened an account here with my wife. This bank is fantastic for one simple reason…read more It is one of the only banks that I'm aware of that has a no-minimums, no-fees checking account available. Called Citizen's Bank and B.O.A. --- all of these banks wanted to actually charge me a monthly fee in order to use my money and extend credit. Either that or they wanted me to jump through hoops like setting up regular deposits and etc. What?! Ain't nobody got time for that. Evans Bank was one of the good guys. No fees with no stupid rules or minimums (except the min of $25 to open the account in the first place). Matthew, the assistant branch manager helped us open the account and personable throughout the process. The account also had some nifty features: if you DO setup a monthly deposit and enroll in paperless checking, you get 1.25% APY and a refund on all ATM fees under $5. Now that's positive reinforcement I can get behind and rave about. Very cool bank that started in WNY and only has a dozen or so branches locally. I'm considering moving my other accounts here after the experience. Thanks, friendly staff!

A few years ago, I found myself looking for a new banking institution, one that would truly understand my needs. I checked out a few banks, and they sure didn't understand my needs - at all. Then, one day, I was walking by MemberOne, and decided to check it out. I'd heard about MemberOne from my neighbours, who work at WS&IB, and they said nothing but good things about it too, and also mentioned it had recently opened to the public so that anyone could join. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I made an appointment with Irina, and was amazed at the service, from the moment I stepped into Irina's office to open the account, to present. Irina was able to get me everything I needed. Irina (as well as all the other staff) are truly wonderful, very professional, and very pleasant to deal with. Not to mention they actually know what they're talking about. I've never had any complaints. They've been there to help me when I've needed it, such as the time I needed a small loan for some dental work and no one else would help me because of my financial situation at the time. While they may only have one branch and somewhat limited hours (M-F 8 to 3), the service more than makes up for it. The fees are very reasonable too - $8/month for just about everything one could ask for. Sure, there are free bank accounts out there, but do those banks actually look after you? Didn't think so... I think $8/month is very fair for what you get. Don't let the modern look of the place fool you - this is a place that still uses the same old-fashioned principles Credit Unions are known for. I've sent multiple friends to MemberOne and all of them were amazed. Trust me, you'll feel the same way, and you will NOT be disappointed.

However, with this credit union - their size doesn't mean you give up personalized attention. I was at two locations in one day - Fredonia and Westfield. Due to the legal accounts we had to set up for burial accounts - we needed to get to Westfield as we needed to ensure the accounts were completely set up within hours. All the staff at both locations were extremely friendly, professional and quick. I really did feel like family when I was there and my wife and I were treated with much respect.
