I came here for a yelp event, and after trying such delicious small bites, I had to order more. The pabellon bowl is fantastic! The shredded chicken is juicy and packed with flavor. The plantains add a subtle sweetness that balances the bold, scrumptious flavors in the bowl. Plenty of beans, rice, and cotija cheese. I can't wait to try more on the menu!

La Vegana from Cilantro & Ajo at the 2025 Pittsburgh Taco Festival was a wonderful choice. The price was reasonable and I appreciated that there was a vegan arepa on the menu--one that didn't require omitting something to make it totally plant-based. The sauce was THE BOSS and brought together the sweet plantains, fresh avocado slices, and savory black beans. I was surprised at how filling it was!

I attended an event here and they prepared small samples of sufferer foods. I love beans and rice and the black beans and rice with seasoned chicken did NOT disappoint. I will definitely be back with friends!

Really good Al pastor tacos. Visited the food truck while at Grist House. Love the additional toppings bar they offer too. My son really enjoyed these, he said they were much better than he thought they would be. It was also nice because you could order, go grab a drink and they would buzz you when your food is ready. Prices aren't awful too which is nice.

I had an amazing brunch experience at Cilantro & Ajo, a Venezuelan street food spot with a brand-new brunch menu! The food was absolutely delicious. To drink, I had the Papelón con Limón, a refreshing brown lemonade made from sugarcane and freshly squeezed lemons. As a starter, I tried the Tequeños--Venezuelan cheese sticks wrapped in flaky dough, served with pink sauce. They were perfectly crispy and cheesy! For the main dishes, I went with two different egg-based plates. First, the Llanero, a hearty steak-and-eggs dish featuring grilled steak, two eggs, fried cheese, two arepitas, avocado, crema, and black beans--such a satisfying combination! Then, I tried the Chilaquiles Criollos, crispy corn tortillas tossed in a rich tomato-guajillo sauce, topped with two eggs, queso fresco, avocado slices, and crema. Beyond these incredible dishes, the brunch menu also includes other egg plates and sweet treats. It will be launching very soon but only available on weekends. Cilantro & Ajo also serves lunch and dinner daily. I can't wait to go back to try their street corn and empanadas!

The arepas here have a healthy amount of filling that left me full after half and some yucca fries. I love that they use Gouda cheese in some of their arepas and their green sauce is the perfect accompaniment. Here, you order at the counter then sit in the back, there's more room than you first expect when you walk in just fyi!

Cilantro & Ajo is my favorite Latin place in the city. It's always delicious, always fresh and authentic. The Pabellon bowl can't be beat - it's the best of all worlds and the cilantro ajo sauce is everything! So happy they're open in Lawrenceville now. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Holy fuck. That's all that came to my mind the second I bit into these arepas The girl working the counter was friendly and helpful. I just asked for her two favorite and she gave me the Lanera and Reina Pepiada Arepa The steak in that Lanera will melt in your mouth and seasoned perfectly. The tomato too?? Beautiful touch The Reina chicken was flavorful but the star was that avocado and mayo. The cheese was plenty too and paired perfectly with it The arepas themselves are awesome. Not dry in the slightest, don't break apart for how filled they are and MASSIVE It's a nice little quick sit down spot that you won't need more than 30 min in. Everything made to order which you love to see I'm a big ass dude and a glutton. Two was the perfect amount

    Shredded Chicken Empanada

Food is amazing. So fresh and delicious! The chicken in the shredded chicken empanada is so flavorful and I love how crispy it was. Perfect amount of filling. Their plantains are so good as well.

I was looking to try a different cuisine and came across this on my drive home. I placed the order online and the food was hot and fresh when I picked it up. I ordered the arepa pabellón, which had beef, beans, and plantains. The order seemed small but it was delicious and SO filling. The green garlicky sauce that came with it was perfect. I can't wait to try more off their menu.

Strawberry Margarita (on the rocks) - perfect sour base, the strawberry takes it to another level. Strawberry Mojito - super minty, insanely refreshing. Chorizo Cheese Dip - salty, savory, creamy perfection. We almost licked the bowl clean, no lies. Queso birria Tacos (w/ rice & beans) - I'm calling it right now: hands down the best birria I've EVER had. The corn tortillas were crisped to perfection. Plus, cilantro on the side? Huge win in my book. Chicken Chimichanga - totally loaded and the chicken was so juicy and well-seasoned. The queso on top was fire!

My sister got the chimichanga and liked it, but didn't like that it was only beef inside. She loved the plantains though! I was very excited to try El Sabor based on the several high reviews, but I was a bit disappointed. Maybe I set my expectations too high? The food was pretty good, but the meat to veggie ratio was way off for the fajitas I ordered. I ordered the trio fajitas (chicken, steak, & shrimp) and asked to only do the steak & shrimp, and to just do bigger portions of those two instead of having the chicken. There was barely any steak, and just a huge amount of peppers & onions. I don't mind paying $20 for decently portioned fajitas, but I was pretty disappointed that there was barely any meat. I would have liked more shrimp on there as well. I'm left with mixed opinions honestly. It wasn't necessarily a bad experience, just a little disappointing. Most folks seem to love it, so I'd say to leave it to your own judgment and give it a try!

Heads up, this location in Lawrenceville is a food truck. Not hating on food trucks, but I wish I had known that before going. It was chilly - though being from So Cal I'm usually cold out here. With that out of that way, dang it was good! I normally don't like drinks with flavors that overpower the espresso, but with the mocka latte I had, that's exactly what I wanted. The bittersweet flavor of the cacao shone through, like a indulgent dark chocolate. Haters gonna hate, but dark chocolate is one of the purest forms, and each sip gave me exactly what I was looking for. As for the arepas... Well, I've never had one before, so I don't have a measuring stick for this, but I really liked mine! I had the breakfast arepa with bacon. Scrambled eggs, nice bacon chunks, cheese, a little green sauce, all sandwiched in what I can only describe as like corn flatbread pieces. So good and surprisingly filling! I will probably go to the brick-and-mortar shop next to see how it compares, but if you're in the Lawrenceville area and want a unique pick-me-up, this is a great option.

We went for cold brew and of course couldn't not order food once we were surrounded by the delicious smells! The empanadas are superb. The crust is so crunchy and delicious. The mokoa had great reviews from someone I was with, they said it was the top 3 they've ever had, so I will be back to try coffee drinks. Prices were on the average side of expensive for drinks (around $7) and the food was around good price ($7-8 per arepa). The store is nothing to look at, but it's full of heart. You can buy just about any kind of hot sauce you can think of there. It's not a traditional grocery store -- but if you're looking for items for a Latin feast, then this is your shop. Crema, cotija cheeses, and the list goes on. **4-stars** for their taco stand out front. My husband and I each took advantage of their 2-taco meal for $12 for lunch. I got roasted zucchini & corn for one and chicken al Pastor for the second. The diced, sautéed zucchini was cooked perfectly, but for some reason, the taco just lacked flavor, even after adding their tomatillo salsa and some crema. The chicken al Pastor taco was good, but it was a little dry. My husband thought the same about his. He did say his pork al Pastor taco was really good, though. Not dry at all. The difference might've been the diced chunks of pineapple that were visible in the pork taco. I wish they had more veg-friendly and seafood options! All of the tacos are on flavorful corn tortillas -- an authentic experience that's so appreciated! We've missed this kind of Mexican food after moving to Pittsburgh. We took advantage of the outdoor seating just outside of the grocery store. The owner told us he is --- in just 2 weeks -- opening a Mexican restaurant on the spot! Hurrah! Can't wait to return.
