I'm ENRAGED by their lack of customer service, care, timeliness, attention to detail, respect for me, my hard earned money, and overall lack of remorse for terrible work/service!!! I thought they were a great company when we met to discuss the small projects in my home. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE!!! It started out great, they showed up August 7th, 2024. My project consisted of installing two new toilets, installing two-bathroom faucets, installing shower faucets, kitchen sink faucet, installing a porcelain kitchen sink, installing new outlet covers and switch plates, towel bars, toilet paper holders, new light fixtures in the bathrooms, hanging a small bathroom mirror over the vanity. There were a few other smakk items that I requested but they were all things that most any handyman could do. AT LEAST I THOUGHT, AND WAS ALSO REASSURED BY JOHN McCUE THE OWNER OF FIRST CALL. The first two days they finished some but not nearly all of the tasks. I asked him how he'd like to be paid, and he said you can pay me 1/2 now and the rest at the end of the week. No problem!! Paid him $2703.00 and all's good! Let me add that I paid for every single item that was installed in my home, they had no expenses going into the job or by the time they left over two months later - NOVEMBER 5th, 2024!!!!! There are so many things wrong with the small tasks they worked on it's hard to just name a few. The faucets do not stay in one place when you turn them on or off, the entire faucet moves because it was never secured from the underside of the vanities. I just paid an actual certified electrician to come to my home last week to reinstall every single outlet and cover because JOHN McCUE's employee installed them incorrectly and the lights would not turn on and off as they did when he came out to put the new ones in place. They were upside down and the wrong switches were put in for a two-way light switch. I also asked to have one of the outlets for my range moved to behind my range because it was above the countertop and could be seen to be moved so it would be concealed. His reply was, "We'd have to put an entire new plug in to do that" and I said that's fine go ahead and do it because I don't want to see the plug. SO, he left the wire inside the box, put another plug behind the range and called it a day. Mind you, he didn't show up for two weeks because he had taken ill, so I waited for the job that should have taken one week max over a month to complete. John was taking them off my project to work on McDonalds restaurants that he has contracts for. I asked JOHN why my kitchen lights were not working the way they had before they changed the outlets and he said, "Well, MY GUY IS NOT A CERITIFIED ELECTRICIAN!!! I replied, you never mentioned that he wasn't certified ever! But that was it, he even turned the lights on from the other side of the room and it didn't work the way it had prior to them performing their services. JOHN McCUE comes off as a upstanding guy especially after I shared my experience of trying to find people to perform the duties I had contracted FIRST CALL to do. I'm suggesting you RUN - DON"T WALK - RUN! DO NOT HIRE THEM. His work cost $5,406.00 A monkey with a wrench could have performed what they said they could do. I LOOK BACK NOW AND THINK THE MONKEY WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BETTER CHOICE, AT LEAST I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN SOMETHING OUT OF IT - I WOULD HAVE BEEN ENTERTAINED. I am writing this review to express my disappointment with Curt's Softener, particularly with Dan…read more 2011 I purchased a new 2510 Fleck 1054 (tan) with Dan at Curt's Softener. Over the years, I have had a few problems, and Dan has come out to fix the issues. But on November 22, 2024, I asked Dan to come out and look at the softener system as the tank seemed leaking, and the salt in the container had turned to complete mush. Dan said the tank was 'sweating' and not leaking. He added 2-3 buckets of water to the container and said to mix it every couple of days to dilute the salt. After a few weeks, I was supposed to add salt again. I called him on Saturday, November 23, and told him the tank was not sweating but leaking. He said he would be out on Sunday around 10:00 a.m. I phoned him around noon, and he said he was sick and couldn't come out. He said he would come out on Monday. Never heard from him. I called him on Tuesday, November 26, and he said he was busy with emergencies. In the meantime, the tank was leaking more than ever. I have videos and photos to back up my complaints. Mushy salt was still in the container. Finally, I sent Dan texts with my complaints and said I would not use his services again. I wrote this review to inform everyone that he is not the helpful person he used to be.
