    Stopped in here on a whim. Had a wedding to attend later that afternoon & was in dire need of a dress . I forget the name of the lady who helped me pick out my dress but she recommended a dress that she also wore to a wedding (her customer service was exceptional) so if you see this and remember me thank you girl lol. Their were so many beautiful dresses , so the name Cinderella Dresses is fitting . Would definitely recommend

    I think there's a lot to love about Serendipity Consignment, but my experiences here have been…read moremixed in some pretty substantial ways. The good: Their selection of clothing and especially of special event dresses is fantastic, the owner is very warm and helpful, and their clearance area has fantastic prices. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, I've had some not-great experiences at the store: The first time I went, my visit was fine. The owner wasn't there, but one of the two people working was really nice, and I found some great deals. My second visit was pretty stressful. I went in with my fiance and stepdaughter to look for elopement dresses. The woman working there, who was older and had gray hair, asked us if she could help us find something. We told her that we just wanted to browse. In response, she told my stepdaughter that there were some cute dresses she wanted to show her. My stepdaughter is a sweetheart and very shy. She didn't want to correct the woman or really have to deal with her at all, so I again told the woman that we were fine and just wanted to browse. The woman's response was to again tell my stepdaughter to follow her. My stepdaughter was deeply uncomfortable, and at that point, so were my fiance and I, but she begrudgingly followed the woman. We didn't understand why this woman was seeming to want to challenge our desire to browse. She didn't ask us once what we were actually looking for. Once my stepdaughter was able to break away from the woman, we left. It was the oddest experience--like some weird power play that we didn't understand. I didn't want to let that experience ruin Serendipity for me, especially because it's important to me to support small businesses. So I decided to give it one more chance a few months later. They really do have a great selection of dresses, and I was still looking for something special. That day, the owner, who seems like a really sweet person, was there and the shopping experience was a good one. I purchased two beautiful previously owned dresses. Here's where the experience went south, though; I made the mistake of looking up how much the dresses cost new once I got home so I could congratulate myself on my deal-finding skills. I discovered that they cost LESS new and that they were still available for purchase. So I paid more than I would have had i purchased them new, and the receipt indicated Serendipity doesn't take returns. It was very disappointing. I still might go back at some point, but I'll be checking the cost of items before I make any purchases, and I'll be reserving my visits for times that the unpleasant sales associate isn't there.

As I mentioned what I didn't like catered the dress closer and closer to my taste. Two of the last dresses I thought well I have a better idea now and I'll just try these last two to see. The one I tried was the second to last but also the one. Super easy decision once I saw me in it. My intentional concern was alterations. Alterations lady though...was so BOMB! No matter how many times I needed her to take it in she was accommodating. In the end the one issue I did face was with my bridesmaids dress. I had bridesmaids in different parts of the country. They helped me pick the ones I wanted send my girls they info to find in their states. They where forthcoming when my MOH dress was delayed do to the pandemic. I can go on some more but in my experience I was happy long and short.

Days later on pickup day I've been calling for hours and I wasn't able to reach anybody. I arrived at the store and my pants haven't been tailored or tampered. My suit needed to be pressed and tags wasn't removed. On top of that my son suit wasn't delivered to the store, one of the guys lied to my face and said the tracking showed the suit out for delivery. I took my suit to a nearby place and they serviced it. I went home and they sent me a message saying that ups can't find my son's suit but they know it'll be here by Monday. Straight liars. Don't recommend. Make your own suit by hand w some needle and thread before you come here.

    I did not have a good experience with Men's Shop. My mom and I walked in 3 weeks prior to my prom…read morelooking for a suite. They didn't have anything in stock that I wanted, so I ordered something from the book. Less than a week later when I went to try it on because it arrived, we realized they sent the wrong pant size for the suit, so the employee told us we should be able to just take out the material in the pant leg and it would work, but me knowing how small they were and the size of my thighs, I knew they weren't and we said to call the company and have them send me the right pants. A few days later, my mom called the store (because they said they would call but the employee never did so my mom had to be the one to consistently check) to check and make sure they were ordered and the employee said yes and they would be overnighted. Another few days later, my mom called again, but this time the employee said "Oh well the warehouse didn't have them, so we decided to just take out the pants like we talked about", which confused my mom and I because we knew that wouldn't work. And just like I thought, when we came in and tried it on, they still didn't work. So, on Monday (with my prom the following Friday), the employee said he would call again and get the right pants overnighted. My mom checked in every day, and no pants...idk how he "overnighted them" but they didn't come. So Friday, the day of prom arrives, and we show up to the store, still no correct pants, and I decided that I would just take the small pants for now because there wasn't really another option, except black pants (but they didn't look good with my suit). This whole time I had been keeping my cool, but when my mom started asking questions to the employee, he proceeded to keep cutting her off, lying in our faces, and be plain up rude. So I opened my mouth to ask a question, and he proceeded to cut me off, not let me talk, and scream over me. So I had to raise my voice so that he would finally hear me out. My blood was BOILING. We asked if we could speak to a manager or owner, and his response was no. That is not how you run a business. That is terrible customer service. After we left with the pants that were too small, we got the call 10 minutes later that the right pants arrived so we turned around, swapped it out, and ran out of there VERY fast before anything else went badly because of the lies we were told. In the end, we did get the right pants, but they were unhemmed still and it was overall not a good experience with TERRIBLE customer service. DO NOT recommend. He could have easily fixed the issue and made it right, and instead he yelled at us and continued to lie to our faces. Absolutely upset.

I then called Berty and got her voicemail. I texted a message along with the pictures & video to her phone. After about 3 hours and no response, I called again and once again got her voicemail. Hmmmm... ok... this IS a business day within business hours right?? This time I left a message. Berty called me back about a half hour later. She stated that she was "in a meeting" and started chatting me up about the dress. She stated that she had some beautiful material that I might want to use and that she's designed for many many clients, blah, blah, bluuuuhhh... ok cool. So when I asked about pricing she started telling me that I needed to come by her shop to take measurements and that she needed my email to send me her address? Okkkkaayyy... we got off the phone once I told her I'd text her my email. I sent her my email and also wrote that I needed a price quote to be included when she emails me her address. She then texts me her address with no price quote! SO, I ask myself, "Self, why did she ask for my email if all she was going to do was text it to me? MAYBE she's just going to email the quote by itself." Welp, THAT was 7 days ago and I've recieved absolutely no further correspondence from Berty whatsoever. Why couldn't I just get a quote over the phone like the other dressmaker did?!? I mean, THIS is what you do right?!?!? THIS is your area of expertise right?!?!? At least TELL me you not going to be sending ANYTHING, smdh. Very unprofessional... SO, I guess I will be contacting Daba Dressmaker back since Berty obviously doesn't want my business.

    I was disappointed with Clothes Mentor's buying process because it lacked transparency. During the…read moreevaluation, the staff would not disclose what price they intended to sell my items for or explain how they determined the amount they were offering me, without that information, its difficult for customers to make an informed decision about whether the payout is fair. In my, opinion, this lack of transparency can pressure customers into accepting offers without understanding the potential resale value of their items. A business that buys secondhand goods should be upfront about its pricing methodology and how offers are calulated. Being open about expected resale prices and payout percentages would help build trust and allow customers to decide whether selling items is worthwhile. I left feeling that the process was unnecessarily secretive and not as customer focused as it could be. I hope Clothes Mentor will improve its transparency so customers can make informed decisions rather than feeling misled during the selling process.
