this review is based on customer service experience. the theater itself was great. the quality of the theater was good. the picture and audio was great but my chair was broke and wouldn't recline but that didn't really bother me. What pissed me off was after the movie was over, I wanted to get a refill on my drink and there was a concession stand right out of the theater. I wasn't buying anything so I waited right outside the line with cup in hand and lid off. It was obvious I needed a refill. I didn't expect the employee to stop what he was doing to immediately help me. But after helping 3-4 groups of people it was obvious he was intentionally not helping me . NOT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. but I really shouldn't have expected more. Then someone from the backs comes to check on him and I raise my hand. She comes over And I ask for a refill. I loudly said THANKS FOR ACKNOWLEDGING ME. I know the incompetent employee heard me cause he smirked and giggled. We shouldn't have to settle for this level of rudeness. All he had to do was acknowledge me and say I'll be with you in a minute. It takes a lot more effort to be rude than nice in customer service. If anyone at the theater reads this. It was outside theater 17 after the 9:30 am showing of Spiderman on August 1st. read more

This was the first time back to the theater since COVID and it was a little disappointing. Our seats looked and appeared clean which was good. The theater was crowded which I figured it might be for this movie. Concessions were limited. Some of the usual items they would have they didn't have, at least not tonight. The bathrooms were definitely an issue! To be honest I don't think they had been cleaned since closing the night before. Yes that bad! There were a couple of the urinals in the men's bathroom that didn't flush properly and one out of order. I expected a much cleaner experience throughout the entire building before I arrived than I encountered. read more

They do offer a single drink refill now but you have to wait in line. I don't get it. I'm not ordering anything that requires a transaction and I'm holding up the line for people that are. If this was in the middle of the movie and I had to wait in line I would have been pretty miffed! When the movie was over I walked up the the 4 employees that were standing at the end of the concession (right next to a soda machine) and was told to go stand in line. They weren't doing anything. Just fill my cup! Nope. I handed him my cup and left. So took it up to 4 stars as the theater itself is awesome but the concession service is just terrible. I wish they would invest a little more thought into how to speed up their process and be more customer service aware. read more

This is a nice, large, clean theatre with a lot of screens. Screens are clear and sound quality is excellent. They show all the lastest movies and are pretty good about having midnight showings for new releases. Since I'm a night owl, this is always a plus for me. They do an excellent job of cleaning up each theatre when a movie ends. I've yet to encounter any popcorn spills, sticky floors, or other trash when walking in to take my seat. Bathrooms have always been clean and toilet paper and paper towels are kept stocked. They serve Nathan's hot dogs at the Concession areas and they are super yummy. Granted they are over-priced hot dogs, but you're at a movie theatre, so it shouldn't come as a shocker. I don't care for the nachos; the cheese is served in those little cups where you peel the top off and it's just not good, nor is it ever hot, it's room temperature if you're lucky, but don't be surprised if it's actually cold. The only gripe I have about this theatre are the seats. They're just stiff or something and don't recline back at all. I almost feel like I'm sitting at a dining room table - not very comfy for watching a movie. And would it have killed them to put in the seats that have the arm rests which raise up and down? I really like being able to raise the arm rest between hubby and me so I can snuggle up to him. read more

The theater continually hosts some of the best options in the greater Jackson area. Including those in eastern languages which is terrific! The facilities are moderately in need of repair, upgrade or replacement. This including the ever advertised reclining seats. They're peeling or missing their upholstery in many places. With that in mind, it very well could've been the disinfectants heavily used once reopening post COVID shutdowns that caused premature damage to the seats (?). In all, a nice experience, adequate enough service, and movie selection make this a great stop for all! read more

This theater played my all time favorite movie, Gone with the Wind, in their classic series. The parking lot is huge. The lighted up sign attracts people to the theater. Inside is clean and the theater had comfortable seats. We enjoyed the movie very much. And the bathrooms were large and clean! read more

This has been my go to theatre since the day it opened. Not anymore. Was refused a free mini poster that was advertised to be given to moviegoers "opening weekend". I watched the film Friday but was unaware of the poster being offered so i went back Saturday to request one and they refused saying that Friday doesnt count as the weekend, even tho there are photos all over social media at other Cinemark locations of people holding up their mini posters FRIDAY. To refuse a regular local customer who has spent thousands of dollars here at this location an item that is of zero cost to them and rightfully his anyway is ridiculous and poor customer service. Add to it the leather seats in many theatre rooms are in need of reupholstery. Won't be returning. read more

Well after spending 15.00 for a small popcorn and 2 drinks I was really disappointed that 1/3 of the small popcorn was the bottom of the barrel with un-popped kernels and burnt popcorn. I was there yesterday to take my 5 yr old granddaughter to see the Mermaid. First of all we paid to see the 3D one and the ticket guy did not give us the 3D glasses and we had to go back and get them after sitting down. The second thing was in a bathroom with 5 stalls and it only had toilet paper in one stall. When we were walking in and went to sit down in our seats, I noticed that the seats had a huge portion of the coverings torn off of them and the seats had butter and coke spilled all over them and popcorn was everywhere. It was the nasty thing. I have been going there since they opened and I have never seen it look so terrible. We there there for 1225 pm showing. Well one thing is for sure, we will not be back there, we will wait for the movies to be streamed. There is no amount of excuses to have a movie theater in such bad shape. I think this place needs more staff and some upgrades. IT COULD BE A REALLY GREAT THEATRE. They were one of the first, if not the first in the area to upgrade to comfy recliner seating in the last few years. Which was initially an inconvenience for me (I typically go to the theatre 2-4 times monthly), as seating become less in each room. So for popular movies, I would often end up seated directly in front of the screen. On my last visit, tickets were being purchased at the concession stand because there was no staff at the box office. There's a potential security risk with no one checking bags at the entrance. Staff was limited at the concession center and staff overwhelmed with the dual task of ticket purchases, concession orders (which has expanded to the sell of blankets, plushies, and tumblers), and fulfilling/making food and drinks; they also now how personal pizzas and cheese sticks from Pizza Hut. I stood in the "concession" ticket line for almost 30 minutes and then moved across to the actual concession line where I stood for 20 minutes. Needless to say the movie had began by the time I made it inside. My son and I ended up doubling up in his recliner as mine was broken, leaning to one side, and only reclining about a fourth of the way. (This is the 3rd time in the past couple months I've seen a broken recliner but my first time actually unknowingly selecting that seat.) The theaters have also been less than clean. There are over 20 screen rooms in this location and they also have other mini concession areas on either theatre side, yet these have not been in use for more than 15 years. This location also only offers XD and should have some of the newer options like 4DX, RPX, IMAX, etc as they have the space for it. The arcade room is also pretty poor. I would be happy to see them expand this, along with a table seating (pub styled) area where you can come in and enjoy food while waiting for your movie to begin. read more

Not my first Cinemark Tinseltown USA theatre, but my first time at the Pearl, Mississippi location. The family and I drove over to watch the Tarzan movie due to their better variety of showtimes than what was being offered in Ridgeland. Upon arrival the line was horrendously long, which was terrifying, but we quickly found that they had several self-serve kiosks for ticket purchasing. For the life of me, I don't know why anyone would stand in the heat and wait in line to buy a movie ticket when there's a faster, easier, and air conditioned alternative! --but oh well, to each their own! We skipped the line, and went inside to purchase! #WINNING Although it had an older appearance, this Tinseltown theater was consistent with others in the comfortable seating, clean restrooms, and helpful staff. A line 20 people long, but they only have one ticket vendor. Meanwhile, their self serve kiosk hasn't been working for months-at least not when I've been showing up. It literally took 25 minutes to get through line and I was late to my movie despite showing up early. I guess I'll go to the Malco. We rarely enjoy movies at the theater bc our youngest is 5. She cant make it very long before moving around. So, we arrived at the theater to watch Toy Story 4-all 5 of us (3 kids aged 9,8,5). The only seat grouping they had left was in the very front row. Ok, never sat there, let's do this....we get to the front row, and out of 10+ 'luxury loungers' in the front row, only ONE lounges. I would have to have left the theater if my husband hadn't offered me the working lounger (neck issues); our kids were complaining of being uncomfortable, they all had to sit with their heads cranked all the way back to even see the movie. Love the new seats. Hate all the negative remarks being made. If you want to be able to see the seating, which is well marked, I suggest you get there on time before the lights are dimmed. I mean really. During the previews the lights are up plenty for finding your seat. As for not knowing where you want to sit.......big deal. After your first visit, then you should have no problem. I do say that the first time you go, especially with several or even a group, the choosing your seats from a screen can cause problems. However, it should only take you one time to know what to do the next time. The problem I witnessed the first visit, was two older women who paid separately. By the time the cashier was ready for the second to pay, the next cashier had sold the seat next to the first lady. Not good. But, as I stated "live and learn". Eagerly went to enjoy the latest Star Wars film in 3D and bought D-Box seats. Yup...mine was broke (dangerously so!). Manager was about as nonchalant as it gets, and although offered a refund, she never broached the concept of offering complimentary tickets to make our ruined Friday-night right. I'm a long time customer and past employee so my expectations here have always been high because I know what it can be. I will admit over the last few years it hasn't been the same as when this place first opened, but I've noticed in the last year they've gotten much better. I went for the Hunger Games Double Feature last year and more recently to see Zootopia. The theater and lobby area were clean on both visits. I will say for the Double Feature, the theater wasn't prepared to handle tickets the right way. Their print machine didn't print my tickets so the manager told me it was fine, but later when I wanted to take advantage of special concession pricing for Double Feature attendees they said I had to have my stub. When I explained the situation the cashier at concessions didn't seem to care, so I had to get the manager involved again. He was apologetic and pleasant in resolving the situation. For Zootopia, the girl at the box office was super friendly. She looked excited for us to be there. That was pleasant. Concessions was fast and friendly as well. The theater was clean and the movie played without any issues. I would recommend this theater for residents of the surrounding area or visitors to the area. They have new seats and digital screens that make for a complete experience that's significantly improved compared to even a year ago. read more

I have been coming here for years and have yet to be disappointed. The lines for tickets are never long, the concession stands always move quickly, the staff is accommodating to all of your needs. One time, we were at a movie premier and they mistakenly played the wrong movie which cut us back about half an hour. They apologized and even gave a ticket for a free movie the next time we attended. I also love that they showcase many independent movies that you are unable to see at other theaters around the area. I also enjoy their XD theater and the complete renovation they performed to it. I am a loyal patron, and I always chose here before any other theatre and will continue to do so because of everything I mentioned above. PS they have excellent popcorn with the best amount of butter! read more

this location is terrible. the employees here are slow and incompetent. you would think that the employees would have have basic skills to add to facilitate a positive experience, but not here. expect to wait excessively long time in line and all while the management stands there and watches. the theaters are extremely nasty. just take a look and a picture of the seats before you sit down. they obviously never clean. the apparent attitude and unprofessional demeanor of the staff and management just is why this location is declining so much. please speak up to management when you are here. go to madison theater. read more

This location says they have a "coin shortage" and wouldn't give change to my 11 year old daughter change at the concession stand. She was paying with her own Christmas money. So I literally went there today looking forward to watch GOTG3 with my littler brother. Who is 11 years old and I am his LEGAL GUARDIAN. We get there at 7pm, bought DBOX seats which are like $40 bucks, and just seriously Excited. Keep in mind I was also a movie club member and paying their monthly fee. So we get to the podium and she ask for my ID which shocked me and then they ask for my sibling ID and I'm like he is 11. Mrs. Tiffani Martin, the person that literally runs that Cinemark location turns us away because he is not over the age of 17 and with no ID. I left got a refund but decided to come back and talk to her. I explained to her that it was unfair not to let me in with my sibling when we been waiting for this movie for such a long time. And I explained to her how much money we have spent at this exact location and never ran into this issue before. And she let this entire family walk by and she didn't ID them at all. And she stated it was because they were with their mom. That was like a stab in my heart like if I wasn't a good or close enough parent as a biological one would be. I left upset and told her it unfair for her to ruin family time. And that it unfair to treat a customer like this that has been loyal for so long. It didn't faze her at all but her comment was a stab in my heart and made me feel worthless and like I didn't do enough for my child. THIS IS A TRUE DISCRIMINATION ON FAMILIES!!! It is RIDICULOUS!!!! I grew up coming to this theater, and it's held up pretty well over the years. There's plenty of parking even if it's crowded. And service is okay, depending if the person selling tickets and working concession is mad at the world. Anyway concessions is the usual at this location popcorn, nachos, etc...I don't come across too many salty batches of popcorn when I visit here. The seats are comfy, the arm rests go up, so if you're not in a crowded movie you can easily prop your legs up. The sound and the screens are good as well. The only annoying thing at this theater is that the kids movie hop and they want to sit next to you talk... But I'm sure that happens anywhere. They just need to beef up security here to cut down on it. But other than that Tinseltown is our goto theater in the Jackson area... because proximity is definitely important. read more

I hate having to leave one star, that unfairly gives a star that is not due. However, you have to to be able to leave a written review. NEEDS NEW MANAGEMENT! My number 1 problem was I wanted a small popcorn for my 5 year old child. I was told they were out of small bags and if I wanted a bag of popcorn at all, I would HAVE to purchase a nearly $8.00 medium bag of popcorn. I spent $35+ for a 9:50am movie for 2, a FORCED PURCHASE medium bag of popcorn and tiny small drink. For $35, I could have purchased a much better experience day for her ie: 4 hours at a trampoline park. Then, my seat was smeared with butter and the floor beneath my seat was so sticky when I lifted my foot after stepping in it, my shoe was actually pulled from my foot. I had to hunt down someone who then had to find something to clean it with (and my seat) and after 2 attempts, it was still very sticky but he left anyway. Also, the commercials were so loud, we nearly left. I had to hold my child's ears until they were over and just prayed the movie wasn't so loud, which thankfully it was not. There is no need for a 9:50 am kids move to be SOOOO loud, it is unbearable for the small children coming to see it. A group who is usually way more sensitive to sound anyway. I haven't been to the movies since before my 5 year old was born, and we will not be returning anytime soon. $35 was beyond ridiculously expensive, I can own the movie for half of that in one month from today when it's released digitally/DVD. HOW DOES A MOVIE THEATER RUN OUT OF POPCORN BAGS!?!? That is terrible management. A less than $0.01 bag that you are charging a 500+% markup for should not ever run out. But IF the poor management continues- there should be concessions made for the people wanting that. NOT offering anything for the inconvenience is also bad business. read more

The building is clean enough, but there are always inconveniences when we go here. There were 7 employees in the concession area. 2 lines were open, then I guess 2 more people started running registers. Can't tell if they should have been the whole time or just decided to join in. The lines weren't too long, but it seemed funny to me. Also they have about 4 fridges with various drinks in front of the counter for people to grab bottled drinks and bring to the register to pay; however, they have added locks to them. So we couldn't really do so. I ordered a drink from them, and the bottled drinks were locked behind the register, too. All 7 ish employees were like we don't have a key. I couldn't really tell if someone went looking for one. We finally found one side of one fridge that wasn't locked. I guess the fridges weren't really on, though, cuz our drinks weren't cold. Also, we usually go on Tuesdays, when they have discounted tickets, so we go right after work, and plan to eat hot dogs and popcorn. Every time, I order a hot dog, they say they aren't ready and won't be for 20 minutes. You can see them on the rollers, so I get all excited just to be saddened. This time I was too hungry, I went back as the movie was starting to get us the hot dogs. The popcorn is sometimes really good, sometimes it's meh. If this place didn't have the awesome chairs, we probably would never go here; the Malco is better overall. But the awesome chairs and discount on Tuesdays get us every now and then. read more
