My wife wanted to watch a Filipino movie which only shows in certain Cineplex theaters. The movie "My love will make you disappear " was a romance comedy movie and was showing in the Ultra AVX theater. The chairs were comfortable and reclining. The sound system in this theater was supposed to give you an out of this world cinema experience. The laser projection picture quality was really good. However the movie did not offer any good action or sound effects. This movie should have been playing in the regular theater. The tickets came up to $45.20. Once you factor in snacks and drinks, your movie night may cost you around $70 +. There are a couple of concessions options : popcorn, candies, snacks. Hot dogs, burgers, poutines were at Outakes. Cinescape arcade area where you can play games and earn tickets. Some of the games are showing their age. They probably need to upgrade some of their machines soon. Basketball game speaker and screen no longer works properly. Overall the theater is pretty clean and spacious. There are party spaces for birthday parties. The theatres are showing their age and need to upgrade their sound systems. read more

The theatre itself: 3.5 stars. The sound was good, almost too loud! Yes yes, that makes me sound old doesn't it? Seats are comfortable and recline nicely, the floor wasn't TOO sticky, and the screen is good too. Another plus was at 7:45 on a Saturday night, there was no line for tickets. As a foreigner, I didn't have the Cineplex app and it's easier to quickly buy a ticket face to face than through a touchscreen kiosk. I know, that's so unmillennial of me to say. The rest of the "experience?" 1 star! The lines for concessions were bad and of course, prices are a rip off. The concourse gets very very crowded and as far as the washrooms, let me just say: don't use them if you don't have to! They were the worst I've seen in a long time, I've been in better truck stops in the American south let's put it that way. Absolutely disgusting. It also appeared that only 1 hand drier worked, which is pretty bad because they only had 2 to begin with! On a warm summer day, I can't say the place was well air conditioned. Where does $13.75 for a ticket go? So sneak in your food and drink (unless you want poutine, that's delicious) and heed nature's call somewhere else. This theatre seems to be here forever. It did go through some rebranding and remodeling over the years. I usually like coming here because they have earlier showings as the theatre usually opens at 12:30 ish. I can beat the crowds and have the theatre almost all for myself! Parking as usual can be such a pain. At 12 pm on a weekday, the side lot right next to the theatre was full! So give yourself a lot of time if you have a movie to catch. read more

I finally decided to see Black Panther after most of the hype is dying down. Read the reviews and watched the trailers. This cinema is very large and has several large theatres. Ticket purchases are done through self-service machines or on-line in advance so don't expect any attendant to aid you if you're not used to following prompts on a screen. You can sense annoyed people behind you if you mess up! There is a large sitting area to consume food while waiting for your movie to begin or to pick up family members after a flick. Concession food prices are higher than if you went to an actual food place. Heck, just enjoy the time out! read more

First the good news. We were impressed that at the end of the movie there was a manager and staff telling theatre goers thank you for coming and have a good evening. Nice final impression. First impression not so good. Spent $30 on snacks and asked for two courtesy cups for our bottled water. Clerk said "We don't do that!" Would courtesy cups cost them one or two cents each? When I was in high school, if we had a shortened day, I'd take the subway and LRT to Scarborough Town Centre to shop and hang out, as you would back then. A decade ago, I worked in Scarborough. I'd often come to this mall to shop and grab lunch. These days, I rarely come here, other than to watch a movie. I had Monday off. The movie that I wanted to see was in at 1:30 pm. I decided to give it a shot. There was plenty of parking. I walked into the theatre, bought my ticket, bought pink cotton candy and a small drink (my first eating the pink stuff while watching a movie), and decided to hit the theatre. I was greeted by the nicest usher. He said that we are "beautiful people." I loved what he had said and wished him a happy day. All movie theatres are on the second floor. You take the escalator up, which helps a klutz like me who carries snacks. Everyone about to watch the movie with me were respectful. They were quiet and polite. Well, that changed. I'd say that roughly halfway through the movie, two latecomers decided to come in and talk loudly. They sat practically behind me and chatted for most of the movie. It was annoying. My telling them to pipe down and the various stares that they got from everyone did nothing. I like that this theatre has TimePlay. I came second out of three players. Yay! I will say that the cleaning staff were prompt to come in when the credits were scrolling. I actually stayed till the end, as a preview of a future movie was being played. I got my fix and then promptly exited with my half-eaten candy floss. The legroom at this theatre isn't as roomy as others, probably because this place had been around for a while. I sat in front of some rails, so I could easily stretch my legs. I am hoping that the loud couple does not return to this theatre the next time that I revisit it. They were annoying on many levels. September 11th, 2018 - we wanted to see "Crazy Rich Asians". So after work we went to STC. When we went to buy our tickets the line was very long but it was moving pretty good. After we picked our seats we decided to get some food. We ordered a poutine and pizza/chicken strips (forgot to take a pic). The pizza was okay. But I liked the poutine. I hosted the screening of a new film last week at this theatre. I ran into huge problems the day before that were NOT the fault of Cineplex. With the help of Kristen from Cineplex sales who worked several hours of overtime and the manager of this theatre Pratik, the screening went ahead and all the issues were fixed. It was a great evening. I am so thankful to both Kristen and Pratik because had they not stepped in and fixed the problems I had encountered we would have had no choice but to cancel the screening at the very last minute. It would have been a disaster. If you want to host a screening then Cineplex and this theatre is the place to go! read more

Went in to see Slenderman. It was um. Yea. ...not the best. The cineplex was like any other location. There's snacks and fun arcades. The youthful staff were very courteous and they seem to enjoy being employed! The cineplex should give some perks like moving watching because I asked the youthful staff how was this movie or that...and they honestly never watch it. Part of being in customer service they need to be knowledgeable in the commodity they are selling whether they are selling tickets to doing janitorial duties. Gotta give your employees once a month perks. read more

The theatre is quite old but brings a lot of childhood memories. The screen sizes are relatively smaller than newer theatres but you have to appreciate the upgrades they make at Not my go to theatre but certainly better than Morningside and Pickering. read more

Compared to most theatres, this location's always a fave! Best part is definitely the drink machine! Not sure why all Cineplex's don't have one yet but it's always fun to mix the different types and try new drinks! Another perk is the auditorium layout! The rows are spread apart well so you never have the problem of a tall person sitting in front of you and blocking your view. Other than that, it's a pretty standard theatre and a worthwhile location to go to. read more

It's hit or miss on visits here. Last week the theater we were in was extremely humid and made for an uncomfortable experience. A more bearable experience happened this week when it was not humid but freezing. Both of the showing rooms I was in had big screens and good sound. The seats are nice in that they can recline a good amount. The headrests are also pretty comfortable but not so comfortable that you'd fall asleep during the slow parts of the movie. It was clean enough in the vicinity. Some of the showing rooms are a short trip up an escalator but you can see all the rooms from the main floor. There is a large central concession stand that isn't too far from each of the theaters if you want to run out and grab a snack. There's an arcade with some updated machines and indie games. There's also a party room which can be rented out for kids birthday parties. read more

Pretty nice looking theater, better looking than Fairview by a mile. $6 Tuesdays are a frequent for me provided there's a good flick playing. Won't be visiting the concessions, sorry not going to spend $14 on a large bag of popcorn and pop which in my mind is not worth more than $1. And I'll continue to laugh endlessly at the people who go for that nonsense. Go to the Xscape Entertainment Centre before or after your movie where you'll find tons of games! I really hate movie theatres- but I went here today because a friend had tickets to a movie. I was pleasantly surprised. The viewing room was clean and had reclining seats. It wasn't too big so you weren't overwhelmed coming in from a bathroom break in the dark. I also liked the food selection. You could get anything from a burger, to a poutine, to nachos , to ice cream! Everything was much cheaper than I expected them to be at a movie theatre. They also let you bring all of this food inside the viewing room, which doesn't happen in other theatres that I've been to. The bathrooms are far from the viewing rooms and not very clean. Thats why Im only giving this place 4 stars. All in all its a good place and if I decide to go to a theatre again, I would really consider coming back to this location. read more

Took my wife to see the Terminator last night (10pm show, Aud 12, 4/11/2019) at Cineplex Cinema Scarborough. Bought pop corn and drinks to enjoy the show. However, we had lights on during the first 15 minutes of the movie. I had to go out and find a staff, which took a while since it was the last show of the day, to come and shut off the lights. Pretty much ruined the entire intro part of the movie. After complaining to Cineplex customer service the following day, Cineplex claimed that this incident never happened and that we were lying, despite us showing photo of the screen, lights, and glare on the screen. Cineplex at Scarborough Town has gotten through a fair bit of remodeling and renovation but over the years but evey through the years it been a fairly good theatre, now they have dbox as well ultra avx which is a good addtion, I use to preffer Silver City at Fairview but now I feel Cineplex at stc is the better theatre read more

Tried out D box for the first time at this theatre and I have to say...quite a fantastic experience! I will admit that it has to be a movie where you can appreciate movements in fast paced scenes and those with a lot of action. Furious 7 was a great way to appreciate this and the seat did not disappoint I also liked the fact that you could tailor the intensity according to how much you can handle, which does give you more control over the experience...although let's face it-I went for MAX! There is a cup holder for your drink as well so don't worry too much about spills. I would think twice before buying a saucy hot dog for the duration of the movie. At 19.99 it is definitely on the more expensive side, but a great way to use 1000 scene points! read more

Really convenient to get to as its attached to a mall. Can get busy so buying tickets early is normally recommended. This place isn't too bad as it shows a lot of current films and they will have several theatres for a big blockbuster movie. I personally don't care for AVX but it's nice that you can reserve your seat. They've upgraded their arcade and even their concession stand. They have a larger array of soda than before. It's great getting a 10% discount on concession items as food is quite pricey. This place isn't anything special in comparison to others but it's quite convenient to get to and from. read more
