My husband and I lived in The Mirada and left our lease early. Couldn't stand the lies from the…read morefront desk and the neighbors propping the security door open so their children could play in the halls. After we left we were contacted by a collection agency and they told us all of the carpets had to be replaced and other damage was done to our apartment. I have contacted the moving company since they were the last ones in our apartment and thankfully they take pictures to prove these false statements made by the Mirada. You can hear children running in the halls all day and night and yes, you can hear people talking as they are walking in the halls. I hated living here and would not recommend it to my enemy.

In my 13 years of experience with different residential facilities in 10 different states, and understanding what to expect when you live in an apt, I have never experienced the treatment that I have received by the representatives of Krueger development. In 2015 I lived in Chantacleer residences, owned by Krueger development. A few months into my lease I dropped my keys down the elevator shaft and called the 24/7 service number. The maintenance guy didn't answer for 11 hours; I slept in the stair way. Fast forward to September 2017 when I decide to move into The Mirada. A few weeks in we told the front that the beeping form the key pad in the entrance was too loud and that we could even hear hushed conversations in our bedroom, I work third shift often and I have sleep apnea, so I have a hard time already. This was ignored for many months, my wife and I resorted to taping the speaker. I finally ran into the man removing the tape, non other than the employee who left me stranded in the stair way in 2015. And then we were ROBBED!!!! when we got back in January, my wife's apple watch was gone and there was a paint stain on our couch. the secretary told us that 3 people had been authorized to enter our home to change a filter! The comment was later retracted, and changed to 2 employees. The front desk lady said she would reach out to the property manager which she couldn't even do. when we spoke to the property manager, he informed us that he hadn't even heard about this!! We filed a police report, contacted our carrier and the manager said he would help. We waited about 2 weeks and nothing.....so we went to the manager's office again and he did not even remember our names or who we were. He later said he'd questioned his employees but did not 'believe' that they were responsible for the theft. We told him that the cop called us and believed otherwise, so we gave him her info and he said he'd reach back, which I'm sure you know by now he DID NOT! We told him that we felt uncomfortable living at the Mirada, and that we would like our lease to be cut short, he declined. 7 MONTHS have passed and I am still woken by people's conversations on the way in. We've had to deal with noise at all hours of the day, annoying dog barking that lasts for 30 minutes straight, theft, disrespect and deceit. and nothing has changed. Finally, we recently learned that when we signed for what we agreed to be a 9 month lease, was actually a commitment to a 12 month lease without our knowledge!! We reached out to the owner of Krueger development last week a couple of times, and he still hasn't called back. Yesterday we put in our 2 month notice because we cannot continue living here it is NOT WORTH IT!!

Management itself is okay, but the building at 2015 J St. is absolutely disgusting, inside and out. The entire year we lived there, we dealt with cockroaches, loud neighbors, and the constant smell of marijuana and smoke. Clothing, bedding, even our Tupperware, all smelled of smoke when we were out of the apartment and elsewhere. It's going to take weeks and multiple washes in the laundry to get rid of the smell of smoke from our items. Other tenants smoked marijuana and it was constantly going through the vent and into our unit, leaving its nasty smell. I complained multiple times, the first, an email was sent to all tenants that this needed to stop, the second time I complained, nothing was done. I complained on MANY occasions that there was a cockroach infestation in the building, they really didn't seem to care, only scheduling pest control when someone complained. I'm not an exterminator but I know you have to have pest control come on a regular basis in order to take care of an issue. I would find cockroaches crawling on our dishes in the cupboards, in drawers with our silverware, in our dishwasher, crawling on the floor, basically everywhere in the apartment. Pretty sure if anyone that works for this company has this issue at their home, they would do what was necessary to deal with it. After moving and unpacking we found cockroaches crawling around, that we had to take care of quickly, not to cause another issue. Had to throw out our expensive coffee maker, as they were coming from that. Upon moving in, we found two cigarette burns in the carpet, asked if this could be taken care of, they said they would figure something out, nothing was done. We also asked that the locks be changed after we moved in. They were switched from another door...in the same building. The wrong key was given to my fiancé and we ended up being locked out that evening. The guy who came to let us in accused us of switching keys with the person below us, as they had the right key...? We were also only given 1 key, when asked for another, we were told to go and get one made....excuse me, what? Any other apartment I have lived in, this would have been a huge issue. Other tenants are nice, but are constantly heard fighting, screaming and arguing. Overall, my fiancé and I wish we would have spent the few extra dollars and gotten a way better place to live while in Lincoln. I wouldn't recommend renting an apartment or home from them. Charges 214.50 for a cleaning fee, I am positive we left the place in better condition that when we moved in.

Can zero stars please be an option? We rented a home for literally $2300 a month for a year. A…read moregorgeous brand new home. No issues with the home. We cleaned from top top to bottom even mowed the lawn when we left. They took almost the whole 2300 deposit for carpet cleaning and re painting. The home was new, we were there a year. The carpets didn't need cleaned or re painted, wd kept everything super clean. ANYWAY, we didn't complain because we moved into another cheaper property from them. Which wd wouldn't have done if we knew they were going to do all of that with our previous place. They charged for weed pulling in the egress windows. I went back for some packages that had been delivered, looked in the egress windows and weeds were still there. I bet you they never got the carpets cleaned and no repainting was done. All false charges. Fast forward to 3 years later. We are being forced to move from our home due to false accusations from a neighbor/neighbors. No proof has been provided. No neighbors have confronted us. It's complete false BS things that they are claiming. All of this happened after a new door was put in. The previous door was crooked and all it took was one slam of it and the whole thing fell over. It was broken when we moved in. I believe that they made everything up because they were mad about the door repair. So get this, I'm not cleaning!! Why should I waste my time cleaning when they are going to charge $300 for cleaning anyway. We have lived here a while with 4 kids. I'm sure this place will need repainted. But also wear and tear for 3 years. We shouldn't have to pay for the whole thing right??? Wear and tear is expected. I know we won't see a dime of our deposit back. Another issue that I'm having issues is that I work nights and sleep during the day. I have had to wake up and leave the house for them to do house tours. No way I'm going to sleep knowing there is people walking around my home. I could stay and try to sleep but my anxiety won't allow that. I asked politely if they could please make the showings after 3:00 pm. They said they would try. When I spoke with them about these accusations from the neighbors. They said that there were several complaints over the last 3 years. If that was the case, why did it take 3 years to hear about it?? They also could not even tell me which neighbor. Why are my neighbors figuring out who the landlord is and complaining to them?? I still think this is all fictional. Please don't rent from this company. They are incredibly unprofessional and don't have an ounce of kindness in them. Here I am being forced to move the same week as my childs major surgery. Do they care??? Hell no!! Run far far away from them.

I lived at 1137 Charleston St in house for 2 years and 2 months. When I showed the place the guy…read moreshowing it to me said we couldn't go into the basement because there was no lighting and it was full off spider webs. There were no closets in either bedroom but I needed a place for me and my 2 kids. After moving in I put bulbs in the basement and cleared the foot of mud that covered the concrete. I have before and after pictures. Asked too meet with owner to get reimbursement. No such chance. I asked for someone to come patch the leaking foundation where the dirt was coming in only left with another mess to clean. In the winter I learned that the only heat source was 1 vent that the kitchen and living room shared. Both my kids got their feet severely burned they did nothing. 1.5 years later I finally got a second air conditioner put into another with. I got the place sprayed by Brooks exterminator. The was the best thing that happened while living there with roaches, spiders, mice and centipedes. I received $229 deposit back after $775 was given. The property managers I had 3 were awful and disrespectful. Kimberly Jennifer ?.... they raised the rent to $975 and are the worst slumb landlords in Lincoln Ne. They charged me for cleaning which was a joke $125 even fridge and stove were moved and clean. Carpet cleaning $175 which was already done painting 187.50 I have video walls were fine all the above are items u do when u rent to a new tentent. Oh not to mention the insurance they charge u after 6 months of moving in that u are required to pay. Makes sense but has not benefit to the renter. Okay never again. Rita Garcia
