My family and I recently had the opportunity to stop in at this nice little burger joint in South Dakota. We were on the road from Minnesota going to see Mount Rushmore and wasn't sure if there was any place had good quality food along the way as we didn't wanna stop at you, typical fast food chains such as McDonald's or Burger King so we figured we would give this place a try. Overall, the food was phenomenal. Great portions on everything that they have to offer there from the burgers, shakes ,fries ,onion rings ice cream, and even slushy. We got a chance to try all of these items in one after one each item we tried was a home run. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we were so glad that we made the decision to stop in. The great news is it's not far off of the main highway. Just a few minutes up the road. They have an easy to access drive through and even room to sit inside and outside, but seeing how we were in a rush we just went through the drive-through and got our food and headed off after a few few minutes. The only thing that caught us a little bit off guard was the style in which you order. It's all à la carte so each item is individual and unfortunately that can add up pretty fast so we ended up spinning about $90 three people to eat so that's just something to keep in mind if you are stopping here just be aware. It is a little bit more pricey, but I will say that the food is great and the portion sizes are excellent. read more

The owners were so kind and so welcoming...even just gave us ice cream cones when a class of school kids came in so we did not have to stand in line again for ice cream!! My son and I had the best hamburgers and fries at this little place. I've had plenty of hamburgers and these were about the very best. They use high quality grass fed beef, and it results in a fantastic flavor. Fries were hot and fresh. Chocolate shake was delicious. Very nice, clean place with a spotless bathroom. The friendly lady owner even made me a fresh cup of coffee so I could stay awake on the road on our way to Sioux Falls. Don't miss this place if you're driving through Murdo or live in South Dakota. Got there just before closing. Lucky us, as I didn't see anything else around. I went in and ordered burgers and drinks for the hubby and myself. They were very busy and everyone was working hard. It's a family business and the son took my order. Very nice and polite. The place was small but cute, like the hamburger and ice cream place it was. Our food was ready and the hubby & I ate outside as we were traveling with our little mini schnauzer. Our food was great, the flies were horrible. When we were finished, the hubby took our trash and condiments back inside as the family was doing closing stuff. The dad asked about our car and was super nice, as well. First of all, Heather, the co-owner, was super nice. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to speak with Chad, co-owner, in the kitchen. He was busy making the best cheeseburger I've eaten in South Dakota. Actually the best cheeseburger I've eaten anywhere for a long, long time. It was thick, it was hot. It was juicy. It was tasty. It was perfect. I ordered mine with pickles, lettuce, onion, and tomato, a hard to beat combination. Even the hamburger bun was really, really great. My wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and she talked me into splitting an order of onion rings with her, which was actually a mistake. We should've ordered two orders of onion rings. They were so good.! And I don't know what kind of coffee they serve, but the coffee was absolutely delicious and would be worth stopping for if that's all you wanted!! Circle E was VERY busy on Father's Day Sunday at lunch time. Most seats inside and out were full with families celebrating their patriarchs. The kitchen was pumping out food as fast as they could. I ordered a corn dog and their loaded taco dog. I had asked for clarification of what was all included on the taco dog. The cashier was unsure but someone behind the counter rattled through the toppings. I didn't want to hold up the line so I went with it. My food came and I opened the HEAVY clamshell to-go container to reveal the MASSIVE loaded taco dog. Picture this: a 10" tortilla, a 1/4 lb hot dog, taco-flavored ground beef, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and sour cream. This thing was so so big and really tasty. I'd recommend it. The corn dog was good too. A little bit better than your standard corndog with mustard to dip it in. The ice cream treats that I saw people getting looked really good. Fantastic short order grill and ice cream spot! We were driving through on a Bad Lands road trip and thankfully our timing for lunch landed us in Murdo so we could feast on this great food. I'd describe it as an upscale Dairy Queen offering burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, shakes, cyclones (like a blizzard) and more. I highly recommend the Hawaiian Chicken sandwich which has sweet onions and pineapple and a great lighter version to the burger. My husband said his cheeseburger was the best he's had. Service was efficient and everyone was welcoming and smiley. Both indoor and outdoor seating (in the summer) and plenty of parking. My husband and daughter loved their cheeseburgers. Not much for vegetarians, however. All the fried food is cooked in beef tallow. For vegetarians they have a house salad and a larger salad.
