I still remember my very first taco…read more It was 1971, just after I moved to East Gary, Indiana. I had made a couple of friends at school, and one day they took me to a small Mexican fast food place called Arman's. I had never had a taco before. I didn't even know what one was. They ordered for me. That first bite changed everything. It was spicy, full of flavor, and unlike anything I had ever tasted. I couldn't stop eating them. Back then, tacos were under fifty cents, so I went as often as I could afford. That taste stayed with me. Fast forward to a couple of years ago when I discovered A1A Burrito Works. I walked in, and to be honest, the decor didn't impress me. But I wasn't there for ambiance. I ordered two tacos to go and headed back to my car. That's where everything changed. I tried to eat while driving. That was a mistake. These tacos were massive, packed with meat, lettuce, and everything that comes with "The Works." I had to pull over just to properly enjoy them. And then it hit me. One bite took me straight back to 1971. After decades of eating tacos all over the place, these were the first ones that brought that feeling back. The same bold flavor. The same satisfaction. The same experience I never forgot. Since then, I don't go anywhere else for tacos. If you care about flashy interiors, this might not be your place. But if you care about real flavor, generous portions, and food that actually leaves an impression, this is it. For me, A1A Burrito Works isn't just another taco spot. It's a time machine.

I took half my burrito home and had it for lunch the next day and my wife made 3 meals from her burrito bowl. The guys working Sunday were very nice as well. We plan to return soon and order same thing.

These characters had the audacity to refry the fries and gave them to us hot, hard and overcooked. I didn't say anything I just made up my mind that they're srry butts will never get another dime of my money. For young people to be that lazy and not have the common decency to make their customers fresh fries is beyond my rational mind. Think about it, how can they be trusted with proper food storage and follow health department protocols and guidelines when they're this lazy. They can't be or shouldn't if you ask me. I don't know how these chains expect to survive when they've continually gone downhill severely the past few years. I'll be going to the local Chick-fil-A or Culvers for now on for fast food and make my own cheese burgers and fries at home. At this point they are just wasting resources because there's no longer a standard with these fast food restaurants here in Palm Coast save a couple.

Environment: Casual, semi-fancy, very clean, and spacious. Warm, gentle lighting above tables and various wine bottles on display. There were also terracotta pots with fake plants for a touch of greenery. Food: Breadsticks were offered and they were warm, brushed lightly with olive oil, soft, slightly chewy and so good paired with the salty, creamy butter. We ordered the Fried Mozzarella, which was fresh, crispy, and salty, with a satisfying cheese pull. The marinara sauce for dipping was bright and slightly sweet. I got the Minestrone soup. It was tasty, comforting with fresh veggies like celery and zucchini, juicy tomato chunks and firm yet tender beans. We also ordered the Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo. The pasta was coated with very rich, creamy, salty, cheesy sauce, paired with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. The steak was peppery, but it was chewy rather than tender. Service & Flow: Our server was extremely pleasant; he was friendly and helpful in pointing out entrées and the never-ending soups and salads. He offered freshly shredded parmesan to accompany the pasta, more warm soup, and soft breadsticks. He frequently topped off our water glasses and promptly cleared used plates. The wait time was reasonable and as expected- 30 minutes or less for our meal.
