The inside store itself has kinda always been the same with what it sells. Currently it has a Moe's counter where you can have a Moe's sub to order or grab one in the cooler that is already made if you don't have time to wait. There is also an Aroma Joe's coffee shop inside. No place to sit down & drink the coffee or eat your Moe's. No place outside either. Aroma Joe's does have a drive through for those who don't want to go inside. I remember this use to be a donut shop before. There is a bathroom outside of the store & you may have to go inside to get the key?? It's been years since I've used the bathroom here. This gas station can get very busy & isn't always the easiest to get into due to the busy traffic on Lafayette road. Gas pumps are easy to use. Pay @ the lump or inside. There's a good choice of scratch tickets & you can get your lottery tickets here too. Guess what?!?!? You can use your debit card or credit card to pay for these things now.....can be very dangerous for some & very convenient!! lol I don't recall seeing any gas station hot food or soda fountain inside & this may be due to having the coffee & sub shop. There's plenty of beverages, chips, snacks, sweets & some house hold items to choose from inside. I've even seen an ATM machine. It's a gas station, what can I say?? lol I met the manger on my last trip inside & he was very nice/friendly. Big smile on his face. There is an air filling station outside too but it was waiting for repair last few times I had stopped in to purchase my Powerball tickets & a Moe's. I do miss that it's not open 24hrs anymore. I saw the grill in the back and thought, "No one can screw up a BLT, so why not?". This is me willfully ignoring the fact that, during peak COVID season, the woman making the sandwiches was incorrectly wearing her mask, fully nose-breathing on all the food she prepared. Twenty five minutes later, I opened my sandwich bag and smelled Chinese food. Specifically, the pink boneless pork strips that come with a Pu Pu Platter. Seeing as how I was now 1/7th of the way into my drive, I convinced myself that it was just the residue from a dirty grill. So, disturbing (stupid?) as it sounds, I choked down the sandwich - it was, after all, meant to be my lunch. It was the most disgusting BLT of my life, followed by a rare case of severe heartburn. You would think that said heartburn might be somewhat mitigated by the metric ton of bland bread that comprised 4/5ths of the meal, but you'd be wrong. Besides having a friend at my destination smell the empty bag (just to see his facial expression when he learned that a BLT produced that bouquet), I thought that was the end of it. I learned better, a couple hours later. If you've had food poisoning before, you know what came next, and I will spare you the grisly details. Needless to say, it was several days before I felt myself again, and the first half of my visit was a bust. The fact that my 12 oz. can of unsweetened, black coffee was $1 more than I have ever paid, anywhere else ($3.99, which I did not see until I viewed my receipt) was just another kick when I was already down. Screw this place. I liked, however, that they have a role of plastic bags by the pumps, eliminating the need to use a paper towel, when touching public surfaces. Though, all in all, I'd rather use the paper and not be poisoned.

So pissed, I usually go to this station because I thought it was owned by a local small business,…read morebut I was wrong. Yesterday I feel at the station due to very slick ice under the canopy poles, another patron asked if I was okay. I was very sore, but nothing appeared broken. I am not one to strike up a law suite, but wanted the clerks to know to put some salt or sand down, so no one else fell. I went back into the store and explained to the two clerks, I just fell on my butt, you may want to add some salt or sand out there, they both looked at me and one said, and I quote, "ya right". No are you okay, where is the ice you fell on so we can add some sand, nothing. I was so upset and very sore, it ruined by whole day. I decided to call the store and speak to the owner just to inform him/her that the clerks were horrible, when I called the clerk said, the owner has 150 stores and does not come here, but the manager will be back Monday you can try her. so much for small business, I certainly won't go back there. I was just thinking maybe some courtesy would be nice, nothing, that being said, I won't be back there and I hope others don't as well. Done venting, back to my heating pad.
