This RaceTrac features all the best upgrades that you are now seeing in RaceTrac's...this includes the café, covered patio with fans, yogurt stations, upgraded coffee stations and self check out lanes. I will say outside of the coffee stations that offer iced coffee now (yes!), the self check lanes are my favorite part! You know gas station lines can get long, real quick...not here as they have about 4 -5 self serve checkout lanes and they are phenomenal! Outside of the upgrades, this location is well kept and the service is always fantastic. While I am partial to QT, when I am in the direct area, I always make it point to stop at this RaceTrac!

For more than 8 years, I used to frequently visit a plant less than a mile from this place and had no idea it was here. Exterior / Interior It's a gas station / convenience store, located right on the corner of Allgood and Damar Rd. (It's less than 5 minutes north of The Big Chicken). Limited parking and be careful exiting the lot. It's on a curve, no traffic light and most motorists seemed intent on disobeying the speed limit. Interior seemed clean and orderly, most customers seemed to be buying food or scratchers. They have this virtual gambling machines and each one was occupied. Crowd was a mix of friendly working class folks and surly sour faced people cursing and trying to steal other people's joy. Food I ordered a turkey club for myself and a chicken philly with fries for the SO. I took the liberty of opening his sandwich and fries to take a pic. My turkey club was quite tasty. I would have his again but I'd ask for it to be placed in a Styrofoam container and I would probably omit the third slice of toast. Thanks to the tight, foil packaging, may sandwich got pretty steamed up by the time I got to my destination. My sweetie said his cheesesteak was excellent and he enjoyed his fries as well. The fries and tator tots have their own dedicated cooking station - and they looked and smelled delicious. Also want to give some Kudos for variety. The cooking area is TINY but somehow, in addition to cheesesteaks and burgers, they also have cold cut sandwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, shrimp PoBoys, BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, beef / lamb gyros and hot dogs. They even have a veggie patty sandwich! Customer Service The 3 men behind the cash register were friendly and the person I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and kind too. (I called to ask about hours and whether they had a menu online). The young lady doing all the cooking was friendly and efficient. She smiled as she asked if mushrooms and onions were ok on the Philly. She kept smiling as she asked if I wanted it dressed with mayo, tomato and lettuce and she thanked me for stopping by. She was manning the grill, the fry station and taking orders and still she managed to stay upbeat and pleasant. Price / Value I think the food prices are pretty reasonable. Another reviewer said the cheesesteak was $5 - either regular inflation or COVID ... it's $6.49. My turkey club was $5.79 and I think the fries were $1.89. They don't have any paper take-away menus (you know I asked) and no online presence so I snapped a few pics of the menu they have written on the an actual, old-school chalk board. Unfortunately, the chalk is very faint and the menu is very hard to read. COVID precautions None at all that I could see. No masks were worn by anyone. There is a plexiglass divider between the customers and the cashiers and the cooking area is on an elevated platform, but otherwise - nada! Overall Overall, once COVID is over, I would stop back by if I was in the area. They are open for breakfast and they stop cooking at 4pm, so I would suggest arriving no later than 3:30pm. If the owner reads this - I would LOVE to see a chicken gyro added in the future. Lol. You already have the flatbread, onions, Tzatziki sauce ... just use that tasty chicken you use on the chicken philly.

However, for the most part it is well kept and cleanliness has never been an issue when I stopped here. Service is hit and miss at this location with miss being more than hit. Overall, I enjoy RaceTrac as a brand, but given the continued service issues here, I would rather swing through another nearby RT or QT location.

Due to its central location, this place is popular and congested. If traveling on I-75, this station is right off exit 269. If traveling on I-575, this station is about a mile off exit 1 (after exiting, you'll have to make a U-turn to get to it because of a median on Barrett Parkway). The best and cheapest places to get gas in this area (Town Center) are the Costco at 645 Ernest W Barrett Pkwy NW (if you're a Costco member) and the QuikTrip at 105 Ernest W Barrett Pkwy NW. The gas prices at this station are more expensive, but not unreasonable. You can watch news updates on your pump's high-def display while you fill up. There are 16 pumps at this station. If you fill up on premium, Shell's premium gas is marketed as "Shell V-Power NiTRO+," "an innovative, patent-pending formulation engineered with triple-action protection for optimal engine performance, delivering unsurpassed protection against gunk, unbeatable protection against corrosion, and our best protection against wear." I've filled my car up with Shell's premium gas multiple times, but not regularly, and haven't noticed any difference. The on-site convenience store is known as Sam's Mart. It's not as nice as QuikTrip or RaceTrac, but on par with the generation of c-stores that came before. Both the gas station and convenience store are open 24/7. They inspected the flat tire and saw now leaks or holes. Then filled it up with air using his pump and it was just fine. The air pump at this gas station literally took my air. Once I looked at their yelp page I see others have had issues with the air pump as well. The store needs either put a sign up on the pump to state that it is not properly working or get it fixed. They are just taking advantage of peoples money.

Always busy station and had good service until the last test. The tech was expecting issues with the printer and lost his cool. Tossed a tool or two and almost struck another associate. Also observed a person working on front brakes and was not using the correct tools. Stopped by for fuel. No fuel, no lights were on. Perhaps the contract expired.

Nearby businesses inclues CVS, Tip Top Donuts, Bojangles', a laundromat that is called QT Laundromat (no affiliations) and a pawn shop. It's near a CCT bus stop so there are plenty of foot traffic as well as vehicle traffic coming in and out of this place. Yet the folks here really keep the place humming. I was there lol 11 PM yesterday getting my caffeine fix. As…read moremost people know Quiktrip coffee is just mediocre. That's not the problem. The problems with this Quiktrip is that the cashiers are very rude in the police officer that was there August 29, 2023 at 11 PM was extremely rude to me! He tried to tell me I had to leave and couldn't finish my coffee I had just bought from that quick trip location. Then he persisted in trying to bully me out the door to leave the Quiktrip. Just because I was drinking the coffee inside while it was raining and my car was being worked on until today. The next day so I didn't have it to sit outside of the stupid quick trip to drink a coffee I had just purchased in there. He then tries to say I can't leave my bicycle outside the Quiktrip while I am in there shopping and buying their products!! It's not a problem or illegal to consume products at a 24 seven shop right after purchasing them there!!
