The Mac and cheese is some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had. The rice and beans are delicious along with the plantains. The Cole slaw is also the best Cole slaw in the area. We love having this place walking distance to us. It's a perfect lunch or dinner spot.

This visit, the moment I walked to the counter I was greeted with a smile, and I remember her from my first visit. I ordered the 1/2 chicken because it was only $3 more than a 1/4 chicken with 2 sides. You get both white and dark meat and I order fried Yucca and black beans & rice. The chicken has so much flavor from the charcoal. The Yucca was perfectly fried fresh, and the black beans and rice were satisfying. It is a little pricey about $27 with fountain drink and a 15% tip (in my opinion they should not ask with their point of sale system when it is not a full service restaurant). This is the reason why they got a 3 star instead of 4 stars. This reminds me of Peruvian style rotisserie chicken that I use to eat when I lived in Washington DC area. Here, they are branded as Latin American Charcoal Chicken. This not a full service restaurant. You order at the counter and pick up at the order at the other end. They have a small but adequate dining room. I wonder how they are during a lunch and dinner rush. I will soon see.

Overall, I am pleased with the food but not as much with the atmosphere. Of course, the only place…read moreto compare this to is Culver's. Let's begin. The and fries were undoubtedly better than Culver's. The burgers were marginally better. The cheese curds do not have as good of texture as Culver's but they are very good and salty. Custard, virtually no difference. Freddie's is slightly more expensive. Why I am choosing to give 4/5 stars is because of the atmosphere. I will submit that I ate here the first or second weekend it was open, so things may change from now. It was very hot in the restaurant and there was not as much seating compared to Culver's and the restaurant is noticeably smaller. Atmosphere was just not as comfortable. Also, they got my order wrong, so my ice cream melted as I waited for them to correct my order. Overall, I would undoubtedly go back. Hopefully the atmospheric flaws will be fixed over time. Food is great, but I will still choose Culver's over Freddie's. But go eat there, it is great!

Everything else was pretty decent and the fries were really good just a tad bit salty; but I can let that slide. I had gotten the double jalapenos burger combo and it was very shocking that I paid $11.39 for to open it and find out that the patties were as thin as a crepe; and mine was overly salted... This was my first time ever trying this place; my mom recommended it and I was excited to try it but it was rather disappointing for my first time. My family has come here a couple times a while back and they said it was great burgers; great fries; everything great and so I wanted to try it so now that I finally did my first time was very disappointing and I don't think I'll be coming back here; my first impression was not that great. My parents used to say that when they came up here and when you bite into the burger you could actually taste the burger sadly now all you can really taste is the bread... and if I would've known how my first experience would've been like I would've chose some place else

So today was my first time and the menu makes you want to try one of everything because it all looks so good.. Since I couldn't do that I decided to get two burgers and a fry. I got the Chili / Slaw Cheeseburger and the Reg Cheeseburger to eat later tonight. The Chili Slaw Burger was good and the fries as well.. The only Cons to this establishment is it's a huge building and I had every intention on going inside to sit down and eat but it's not that kind of place.. You can order at the drive thru or you can park and walk up to the side window and order that way ... It's basically like a Sonic but no tables or chairs outside to sit at even though they have plenty of room. No bathroom access such as Sonic either. I was a little disappointed about this but it is what it is. A local lady who had ordered and was waiting with me said that they were going to put tables and chairs outside but the city wouldn't let them.. That didn't make sense to me because there is a Sonic directly next door which offers tables, seating and no bathroom.. ‍ Staff was friendly and offered great service, the food was good. Prices are actually more than reasonable here and I was surprised to see that. Try it out and let me know what you think. I would recommend it for sure.

Also - 4 shakes were ordered: Peach, Strawberry Cheesecake & 2 Watermelon shakes. Watermelon is my most favorite fruit ever so I just couldn't picture it in a shake. It's vanilla ice cream & then they add chunks of frozen watermelon. It's the 1st time I've ever said a shake was refreshing! I half expected to see a watermelon seed at some point! The Strawberry Cheesecake was mine because I adore cheesecake. The Peach Shake was for my best friend. I'm pretty impressed with Cook Out. The burgers were incredibly fresh & delicious! Also - the whole order was ready in about 3-4 minutes. The cheese on the burgers were melty & the bacon was freshly cooked. So we had an amazing lunch & I'm already studying the shake options so I'm ready for my next visit!

This past Tuesday we ordered an original recipe zax pack and another order of 5 lemon pepper chicken strips, since one pack is not quite enough for our family. Because they sometimes take SOOOOOOOO LONG to make the food, I ordered it approximately 30 minutes ahead of time, for my spouse to pick up. Unlike most other operations, there was no email or text confirmation of my order. Just what I could see in the app. Around the time the spouse was supposed to be picking up the order, I get a frantic call that they don't have the order. I had already paid, and since I get notifications any time my credit card is used I had an email showing the exact charge, matching the order in the app. Turns out someone else took the order. Some random person walked in, grabbed our bag, and walked out. You would think the manager would be able to see the order in their computer, since we gave them the time, the order, and the charge. Nope. In fact the manager would not even remake the order unless we could provide the order number. Now remember, we have no email or text message with the order and order number. I had to hunt it down in the app. It's in very tiny, dim text and is hard to see. I finally found it, and sent it to my spouse to show the manager. Once the manager had the order number, they made the order, and what should have been a quick pick-up turned into an ugly, time-consuming ordeal. Not only that, they made the order wrong, and the 5 lemon pepper chicken strips were original recipe. The year is 2026, and yet this company operates like they barely know what they are doing. Allowing randoms to steal other peoples' food, and then giving the legitimate customers the 3rd degree, leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. There is too much competition in the chicken finger space for terrible customer service.

The concept and set up is actually pretty cool. Walk up window with outdoor picnic tables under a roof. Great for Florida. However, my husband, Son and I went to give them a try and we got our food in a sloppy manner. The teenage worker couldn't really answer any questions we had. Certain things weren't even available on the menu in this place is fairly new. The menu isn't even that big. The food wasn't terrible, but there was nothing that would bring me back either. The thing that turned me off, the most was as I was sitting at the picnic tables, homeless people were coming up to use their restrooms accessible from the street (since there's no indoor seating). This of course is not the restaurant's fault and it's very unfortunate but also un appetizing. This woman was in there, practically the whole time we were seated to eat. We also noticed people would just drive up and try to use the restroom and wasn't even patronizing the restaurant. I really hate it when I have to grab a key from a gas station when I'm on the road so I wouldn't want that to be happening at a restaurant where multiple people are touching keys after wiping their ass but something has to be done about people who are not customers using the restroom. I'd say a key code or something can be printed on every receipt. If the smartlock on my Airbnb's are changed with each new guest. Then the restaurant can come up with something like this as well. I wish them the best. I hope they figure things out as a newer restaurant with a cool concept, but I don't see myself going back.
