The gas prices were easily .10 cheaper here than all the other stations lining the highway. Not sure if consistently this cheap, but I felt like I won a small time lottery when I scoped the price per gallon. The station itself is located up on a hill that can make it hard to get in and out of, but also kind of ominous as it overlooks the small two-lane road below and allows for small peaks on to the highway. The gas station itself is your standard MAPCO with all the self-serve stations for food and drink, plus a variety of drinks and snacks you expect at any convenience store. The place was clean for the most part and well maintained, but also did show its age, but it's a highway gas station located in a tiny town...so it was expected. Lastly, the Attendant was friendly and helpful. Overall, solid place to stop to top off the gas tank and grab a snack near the state line!

You exit (heading south) and make a right turn followed by an immediate right turn that goes up into the gas station. The thing is, if it's dark, you really can't even tell that you are pulling into a gas station. It's like they dug this out of a hillside, but didn't flatten it out .... very claustrophobic in here. This Exxon gas stations sits right off of Interstate 24 on Cummings Highway. In the sense of a…read morebasic gas station where you can fill up and grab a snack/drink, this place has you covered, but for anything beyond that including safety, cleanliness, restrooms, ease of access, etc...you are out of luck here. I popped in on recent trip from Atlanta to Nashville and definitely wish I would have waited a few more exits. Getting in and out of this place is a nightmare and borderline dangerous. Honestly, the whole layout of the lot, gas pumps and parking spots are the same. The issues don't stop in the lot as the interior of the store is equally cramped, dirty and just not well taken care of. Gas was a decent price, competitive, but not any better than other local stations off neighboring exits. There is not much on this exit, so I get why this place stays busy...but yikes! Overall, I will plan my stops a little better next time I am headed up or down 24.

So, when I stopped at this gas station just to grab a Sprite after an appointment nearby, I HAD to respond to the delicious smell of fresh deep fried chicken. I am so glad that I did! The chicken was so flavorful, authentic deep fry style of a little crunchy on the outside and soft but hot perfectly cooked inside. And so were the potato wedges. That price for such a lunch feels unreal.
