I've received great care from every therapist I've seen recently, as well as those who have left Circle of Wellness. Their dedication and professionalism stand out. Dr. Noe, in particular, has been very approachable and attentive to my concerns. Georgi in rehabilitation, along with Robin and Max (who is no longer there) in the stretch center, have also been very supportive. I've been a client of Circle of Wellness for many years, starting when my general practitioner recommended massages to help manage chronic pain and fibromyalgia. My insurance has always covered these treatments. After a few years, my treatment plan grew to include physical therapy, which meant visits on different days than my massages. This was tough to manage with two part-time jobs, other medical appointments, and daily responsibilities. Still, I kept up with it for years because the massages were key to managing muscle pain, headaches, and stress. During this time, I had two knee surgeries, including a total knee replacement, and spinal fusion surgery. Because of this, there were times I couldn't do physical therapy at Circle of Wellness due to therapy prescribed by my doctors elsewhere. During those times, I kept going to massage sessions only. Approx. a year ago, the owner, Leila, suddenly cut massage sessions covered by insurance from weekly to every other week without any notice or explanation. In place of the missed massage weeks, I was told to attend the stretch center. Scheduling these appointments around my work was difficult. Once, while trying to sort this out at the front desk, Leila made an inappropriate comment, accusing me of dishonesty if I tried to cancel or avoid stretch appointments. That was upsetting and unprofessional. Later, I asked for Dr. Noe to call me about the mandatory stretch clinic. Leila said no, saying it wouldn't change my care plan and insisted I make a formal appointment. When I did, Leila wanted to attend the meeting, which I declined. The consultation with Dr. Noe addressed my concerns. While the stretch center was helpful, I don't like being forced to participate. As a client, I expect my patronage to be respected. Saying it's required by insurance to participate in these services was also untrue. I called my insurance, and they reassured me it wasn't necessary to do stretch center to receive my massages. After the stretch center sessions, I was told I had to see Georgi for rehabilitation. This was unexpected, as I was only told to do half an hour of stretching. I found out that Leila talked about my case with other employees, suggesting I was trying to avoid responsibilities by citing physical therapy elsewhere. This is true, as prescribed by my doctor. Such discussions are inappropriate and unprofessional, and my medical documents can prove this. My original reason for going to Circle of Wellness was for medical massages; over time, the focus shifted to other billable services, with blame unfairly placed on me for expressing dissatisfaction. Before, when a therapist was unavailable due to vacation or illness, the front desk would notify clients and ask if they agreed to assign a different therapist. This practice has stopped, leading to unexpected therapist changes without explanation and an unhelpful attitude. I'm very disappointed by my interactions with Leila, whose communication lacks professionalism. Good interpersonal skills are essential for business management. Leila always likes to turn things around and blame the client. She doesn't take any accountability for her own actions. She is always surprised when clients come in and are upset. I will miss the other staff members, who have been hardworking and excellent in their roles. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude for the support I received from the therapists and staff who have been part of my care journey. I have been going here for years for massages. I was pleasantly surprised that even though they have a lot of therapists most of them were really good. There have been a few that weren't my preference in style but I just don't schedule with them. My last massage however was the worst I have ever had. It was with Nancy. It did not even seem like she had the skill level of a trained massage therapist. For the first time ever I made a complaint and requested a refund. On December 3, 2024, the owner, Leila MacQueen, cut me off from all of my therapies, because she cannot admit that she and her staff make mistakes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She told all of her staff to have "no contact" with me. She will not allow me to speak with my chiropractor, Dr. Christ, a significant member of my health care team.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ms. MacQueen clearly doesn't have the best interests of her clients at heart. She's defensive when confronted, behaved rudely to me when she called me regarding a failed draw on my debit card for my membership.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She refused to listen to me when I tried to explain to her my communications with her front desk staff about the issue she was calling me about.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She refused to listen to the fact that on my last visit to the clinic, I advised the front desk person that the card I had been using for my membership had been compromised and I was waiting on a new card to replace it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I paid for my service that day with another card, advised the front desk person not to keep it on file; and that I would provide my new card to them on my visit scheduled for December 3rd. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She admonished me for not leaving my new card number in a phone message to them. I never do this under any circumstance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She told me I hadn't confirmed my appointment for that day. I told her I had confirmed it last week by email. She hung up on me, while I was in mid-sentence talking to her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called her back and asked why she was being so rude to me? She retorted, "Am I being rude to you?" Her tone was ridiculing and dismissive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I didn't take her attitude towards me lightly and let her know. She then said she was cancelling all of my scheduled appointments, including those with my chiropractor, Dr. Christ. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called to speak with Dr. Christ on December 5th, and the receptionist told me they can have no contact with me and would not take a message from me for my chiropractor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have a doctor patient relationship with Dr. Christ and no one is to interfere with that. Ms. MacQueen is way off base if she thinks she has this right. Nothing occurred between my doctor and me to warrant MacQueen's actions. She was vindictive, unprofessional, rude, and inconsiderate. Her inability to provide excellent customer service, listen to patients, and acknowledge the shortcomings of her staff are serious impediments to patient health and care. I do not recommend anyone to go to Circle Of Wellness Rockford for care. Complaints have been filed with Medicare, my insurance company ,as well as the Illinois Department of Professional Registration, over her behavior and actions towards me. Heretofore, my care at Circle of Wellness was excellent. Unfortunately, because of Ms. MacQueens's vindictive action, I can no longer recommend the services of her business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Her final words to me before she hung up on me for a second time were, "Good luck finding somewhere else to go".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are other very good massage therapy programs in the area, Ms. MacQueen. You are not the only rodeo in town. Response to owner. You were the aggressor, not I. You didn't call me about my schedule. You called me about my card and confirmation of my appointment. Why didn't you know that I had, indeed, confirmed my appointment and told your front desk person that I would bring my new card in on December 3rd? If you are such a top notch administrator, how come you didn't know this? Did you call me to intimidate me, harass me, provoke me? If you had known that I confirmed my appointment, as I always have by email, assured your office that I would provide a new card on December 3rd, then you wouldn't have the need to call me. You failed in your job. This isn't about me, it is about you. Dr. Christ is a caring and highly proficient doctor of chiropractic. She helped me greatly and you, because of your vindictiveness, you cut me off of much needed care. I hope you are haunted by this. However informed me that if I was to cancel within 24 hours I would be charged $35. I have been receiving monthly massages for a couple of years at Circle of Wellness. Some massage therapists are definitely better than others; but price of monthly massage program was worth it to continue. As others have stated, the receptionists appear unprofessional and rude at times, but I was willing to overlook this. Unfortunately, in December, the therapist--Megan fell asleep more than once during my hour massage. I wasted an hour out of my busy schedule to not receive a massage, other than light rubbing (no massage) on my neck and hands. I was so upset that I immediately reported the problem to the front desk manager. Utilizing an appropriate service recovery tactic, the manager stated that she credited my account for the sleeping therapist. My anger was defused until I returned this week for my credited massage. I was now told that I only received a 1/2 hour massage credit (not an hour as I was told by the manager) and would have to pay $35 dollars for the $70 massage--not the cost of the $48 massage club. I cancelled my future massage appointment and will not be returning due to poor customer service. read more

The massage was just mediocre. The problem was that when I asked for a different masseuse for the next time, I was told that my appointments had already been made and that I couldn't change which I thought was especially odd so I told the receptionist to just go ahead and cancel all of my appointments. She then changed her story and said I could have someone different on my next visit. Then they called to cancel my second appointment and then later on, canceled it again. After that, I was done. I have great satisfaction with Sophia as a massage therapist. She is great- brutal, but amazing. I have been going here for a couple of years and have had the same front desk experience as others. I contacted Circle Of Wellness a couple of months after my move back from California. I had been a member of Massage Envy for over 3 yrs. I tried many therapists but I couldn't get relief. I needed Deep Muscle Therapy. I have Spasmodic Torticollis. The office staff was great and very professional. They answered my questions and my first appointment was with D'Angelo. Immediately, my quality of life changed. He massaged my neck and under my scalp. He even massaged around my eyes. My headache lifted and I was able to turn my neck to the left, which I was unable to do for years. I am now receiving Botox for my condition. With the Botox and D'Angelo, my pain level is so much better (from a 10 to a 5 or 4) I will continue to get my massages every two weeks, or weekly, if need be. Sherri is absolutely amazing! When I called to make my appointment I didn't have the best experience. The receptionist just wasn't helpful and seemed annoyed. Sherri does amazing massages. I'm training for a half marathon and I do heavy weight lifting and her massages help so much with my recovery and performance. I was given a gift certificate package of 3 massages for $105. I had also purchased one for myself, and used it. I went to the office for my appointment on 2/16/21 for a massage, using the gift. I was told at check in that that certificate had been 'voided'. Apparently you are only allowed 1 package per person, yet no one said anything to my fiancé when he purchased me the gift package. They were fine taking the money for a second package, but not allowing me to use it. The staff in the front were incredibly rude and not helpful. I ended up walking out with this issue unresolved because I felt so frustrated and disrespected. I am out $015 gift at this point. read more

This is a wellness center that offers massage and chiropractic care as well as other well being services such as reflexology & acupuncture. I have only had massage. What's great is that they offer a massage club. They will auto deduct $44 for an hour massage every month. Then, if you have more massages that month the price drops to $40 for the second & $35 for any further that month. That's really affordable! They have several therapists to chose from so I think no matter what you'd eventually find someone you like. The atmosphere isn't fancy but it is relaxing. I have never met a ruder and more disorganized group of people in my life. I have been working with them since December and trying hard to overlook the front desk incompetence. I have had appointment mix ups and cancellations withou 24 hour notice on their part. But if I do a same day cancellation I owe $25 fee. I guess my time is not as valuable as theirs. What takes the cake is their financial ladies. They start the conversation with no respect. It's like they think they can speak to someone anyway they want. My last phone call was just to confirm my appointment and the lady starts talking randomly about my deductible. I pay prior to each visit like everyone else. I can meet my deductible with any office not just theirs. I realize they want me to meet my deductible with circle wellness but I don't have to. I ask questions and the ladies yells or tells me I don't understand my own question. The care isn't special and can be received at any credible chiropractic office. I simply don't have to tolerate rudeness. I definitely don't have to pay for it. All future appointments are cancelled. I will not recommend or return. read more

This is not your typical spa like massage environment. However, the cost is very reasonable. It may take a couple visits to get the right therapist you want also. Be specific in your request. If you prefer male / female; gentle or firm therapy. Quite or talkative therapist. For me nothing is worse then a chatty therapist. So I am clear that I want quite during my session. They do offer ear plugs also. The Southside of the clinic is the quieter side away from the physical therapy and chiropractic area. The cost is around $30-40 per hour depending on if you are first timer or not. They do accept health insurance also. It's a reasonable deal. I have paid $90 for an hour massage around Chicago and it was no different. Remember this is Rockford not LA or Chicago. As always I prefer to support local business. read more

I've been going there for over a year now and I just found out about their Shady business practices . I understand completely that there are going to be two different charges for if you are paying cash or using insurance but I certainly didn't think it would be five times more if you use insurance . Let me explain a little better, If you walk in off the street it will cost you $44 for a 1-hour massage paying in cash . If you get that same massage using insurance they will bill $220 to your insurance and if you have a high-deductible plan like I do you are responsible for whatever your insurance would typically pay which they didn't tell me what my deductible amount was until AFTER I had a huge balance due. I would have been okay with the hugely different amount if I was told initially, obviously I wouldn't have come as much but it should have been my informed choice to make. When I did question the billing practices I was yelled at, talk to with a completely condescending voice, I was told and I quote "you people always trying to get something for nothing" I have no clue what "you people" she was referring to because I have never in my life gone without paying a bill. As far as the massages go there are a couple of great masseuses there however there are a whole lot that are not up to par especially when you think about the price that you're paying for it. read more

I never write reviews but i had to after the way i was talked to by the manager. I was running late for my appointment due to an emergency and called to ask if it would be ok if i was a little late. She responded with attitude from the start and simply said "No" and nothing else. I asked if there was an opening a little later for the same day and again she rudely just said "No". I then asked if I could make an appointment for the next day. Again just plain "No". I informed her there had been an emergency and that was the only reason i was running late. She stated, "Well regardless you will be charged $25 dollars soooo". I asked her if there was any way at all to waive the fee just this one time and that i was wanting to reschedule, not cancel. I had never been late to an appointment or missed one the entire time i had been a customer there. The rudeness in her tone continued to increase as she said, "No. That is not how we do things here. I will not reschedule you and waive the fee even one time. We don't do things that way here sooooo." I was so shocked at how i was being talked to that i had to ask why she was speaking to me so rudely when i was being so nice despite her tone with me. She then started laughing!! While laughing she told me she "was not being rude and that regardless she was charging me $25 dollars now because i was late." Keep in mind this conversation was taking place before i was even late for my scheduled appointment. The laughing, rude tone, and complete disregard for customer service was enough for me, so I finally just told her I would not be coming back ever again. I have recommended this place to so many people and will also spread the word to them about how i was treated. I informed her of this and she literally giggled and said "Oh that's fine! Bye!" I literally had to check my phone after the conversation and make sure i had dialed the right number and that it wasn't some high school kid playing a prank on me! I am still so shocked by how I was treated! I completely understand the $25 fee, however, I really did expect a little more understanding in an emergency situation that i had no control over.
