Dr. Noe, in particular, has been very approachable and attentive to my concerns. Georgi in rehabilitation, along with Robin and Max (who is no longer there) in the stretch center, have also been very supportive. I've been a client of Circle of Wellness for many years, starting when my general practitioner recommended massages to help manage chronic pain and fibromyalgia. My insurance has always covered these treatments. After a few years, my treatment plan grew to include physical therapy, which meant visits on different days than my massages. This was tough to manage with two part-time jobs, other medical appointments, and daily responsibilities. Still, I kept up with it for years because the massages were key to managing muscle pain, headaches, and stress. During this time, I had two knee surgeries, including a total knee replacement, and spinal fusion surgery. Because of this, there were times I couldn't do physical therapy at Circle of Wellness due to therapy prescribed by my doctors elsewhere. During those times, I kept going to massage sessions only. Approx. a year ago, the owner, Leila, suddenly cut massage sessions covered by insurance from weekly to every other week without any notice or explanation. In place of the missed massage weeks, I was told to attend the stretch center. Scheduling these appointments around my work was difficult. Once, while trying to sort this out at the front desk, Leila made an inappropriate comment, accusing me of dishonesty if I tried to cancel or avoid stretch appointments. That was upsetting and unprofessional. Later, I asked for Dr. Noe to call me about the mandatory stretch clinic. Leila said no, saying it wouldn't change my care plan and insisted I make a formal appointment. When I did, Leila wanted to attend the meeting, which I declined. The consultation with Dr. Noe addressed my concerns. While the stretch center was helpful, I don't like being forced to participate. As a client, I expect my patronage to be respected. Saying it's required by insurance to participate in these services was also untrue. I called my insurance, and they reassured me it wasn't necessary to do stretch center to receive my massages. After the stretch center sessions, I was told I had to see Georgi for rehabilitation. This was unexpected, as I was only told to do half an hour of stretching. I found out that Leila talked about my case with other employees, suggesting I was trying to avoid responsibilities by citing physical therapy elsewhere. This is true, as prescribed by my doctor. Such discussions are inappropriate and unprofessional, and my medical documents can prove this. My original reason for going to Circle of Wellness was for medical massages; over time, the focus shifted to other billable services, with blame unfairly placed on me for expressing dissatisfaction. Before, when a therapist was unavailable due to vacation or illness, the front desk would notify clients and ask if they agreed to assign a different therapist. This practice has stopped, leading to unexpected therapist changes without explanation and an unhelpful attitude. I'm very disappointed by my interactions with Leila, whose communication lacks professionalism. Good interpersonal skills are essential for business management. Leila always likes to turn things around and blame the client. She doesn't take any accountability for her own actions. She is always surprised when clients come in and are upset. I will miss the other staff members, who have been hardworking and excellent in their roles. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude for the support I received from the therapists and staff who have been part of my care journey. Their dedication has made a significant difference in managing my health challenges. I give 5 stars to the therapists and the Dr's. 2 stars for the owner. read less

However, she insisted on lightening my hair further, claiming that toner alone would turn it green. When I tried to clarify what I wanted, she shut me down, saying, "Don't tell me how to do my job." Initially, I thought she was joking, but given how she treated me afterward, I realized she likely wasn't. The next morning, I woke up unable to brush my hair properly. I felt stiff, tangled chunks in the back of my head and immediately called the salon for help. The receptionist booked me an 11:30 AM slot, and I asked to speak with Marita to let her know I was coming (assuming we were still on good terms). Instead, she rudely dismissed me, accused me of wanting a free service, and told me to "just wash it off." I then spoke to another manager, Christina, hoping for better customer service. Unfortunately, she also shut me down, refused to let me come in that day, and told me I'd have to prepay for a future appointment just to be seen. I ended up having to go to another salon, where the stylists confirmed bleach had been left in my hair, causing significant damage and breakage. Mistakes happen, but how a business handles them matters. Instead of taking responsibility, Marita and Christina ignored my concerns and refused to help--leaving me with severely damaged hair. If you value your hair and good customer service, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Photos and screenshots will be posted to comments They had me sign a form agreeing that they couldn't guarantee the color would come out exactly as I requested. When colleen reached out to me this week after this whole incident, she also dismissed my concerns and lead with what I signed even after I explained the color was not the problem, the bleach was. And then stopped responding

The person I had no longer works there so I was excited and hopeful that my experience would be better. Unfortunately, this recent experience was no better. The visit began with a disappointing start when upon check in we were informed that the steam room was out of order. This is a small business (my sister and I were the only clients in the women's section) and the only spa amenity is a small steam room. There is no sauna, hot tub, salt room etc. The steam room is it and it was closed. Not a good start but whatever things happen and I'm here for the facial. Had Adriana who by all accounts was doing a good facial until about 30 min in after putting the heated cloths on my feet...she said she would be right back and left the room! I have never had someone leave the room during a service anywhere. Usually when they put the hot towels on your feet they work on your hands or massage your neck and shoulders. So this was strange. From my last experience, where the esthetician kept leaving the wet towels on my face and sat in the room without touching me until the cloths got cold, I expected to not have it happen again. Unfortunately the same thing happened. Don't know if this esthetician had to use the restroom, felt sick or what but she was gone for a while. I was left in the room with the wet towels on my feet and nothing else being done while she was gone. She was gone for about 5-7 minutes and when the appt is only so long, any time there are "no hands on" is time that is lost during the service. It could have been spent giving a neck and shoulder massage which I never received. I've always had the neck and shoulder massage performed with a facial and I believe was meant to be performed as I was told by the front desk to remove the bra because a neck and shoulder massage was included. The esthetician leaving mid appt resulted in the service being stalled and her not having time to complete the neck and shoulder massage. She was gone so long that when she finally did come back in the room the wet cloths from my feet were cold. There was no apology and she didn't even extended the appointment later for the minutes she was gone to make up the time. As if time wasn't lost enough, when she returned she then put cream on my face and then let it sit on my face for another couple of minutes without touching me or continuing to do something while it was on. It almost felt like she was just trying to use up the time during the 60 min session to just get through the duration. I kept moving to let her know that I was awake in case she thought I was asleep and wanted to take advantage by doing nothing. Still she continued to sit and do nothing. It's like if you felt sick maybe stay at home or put me with someone else. Because to me it felt like she wasn't all in and not doing her best. When the session was complete I mentioned my disappointment to the front desk. Truly, for the 60 min session, it felt more like it was a rushed 45 min session. I was told that a manager would contact me when next they were working. The business is open Tues-Sat. I went in on Saturday so I expected to hear back at least by Thursday or latest Friday. In addition, I filled out their internal survey to also explain my experience in writing and notify them directly. It's been more than a week since my service and survey and I have yet to receive a reply. I was holding off on writing on this forum in hopes that they would reach out to me privately but since they didn't seem to want to respond to the private survey only they see, I am writing on this public forum where they seem to see reviews, to ensure that they correct these issues so no one else has the same experience. I've gotten over 20 facials in my life and have never had the experiences like I've had at this local establishment. I live in Chicago and am used to state of the art spa facilities and impeccable services. This day and age when money is tight, it's a splurge to spend time and money on a nonessential expense like a facial. So when I do and the experience is not the best, it's really disappointing. I had a negative experience the first time. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried a second time with no better results. I will not be returning for a third time. They have lost mine and my sister's business. The old days when they were called Weiss Morris Day Spa and the service was exceptional are gone. This place used to be so great but sometimes things do not get better over time. Frequent staff turnover, broken facilities, inconsistent estheticians and bizarre inservice practices are all I need to move on. So I'm done paying for mediocre services from WM Day Spa. I will instead exclusively receive my spa services from the exceptional spas and professional estheticians we have in the big city.
