Sooo fun! We went here on a Thursday night and had a blast. The parking was more than I expected and the show was great!!! My only complaint was that the tent was freezing! We went outside during intermission to warm up! Food was reasonably priced, I got a brat, chips and a diet soda. Performances were great! Loved the dogs in particular. Ticket prices are reasonable as well. I def plan to go back!!! read more

This year is Circus Flora's 40th anniversary. I have never been prior and it was a great show. Definitely worth coming and supporting their show. There is live music and they're really good! Every act was incredible--everyone is so talented. Favorites acts of the night were: the Dogs, the trapeze, the kids who practice and perform at the City Museum, the runners...you'll just have to come and see! Don't miss the human cannonball during intermission. We did eat any of the food, but the prices seemed reasonable, medium for inflation prices. read more

I've never been to a circus and decided to see what Circus Flora was all about. They have street parking but we just paid $10 to park across the street. Outside the venue, they have concessions with food, drinks including those with alcohol. I didn't think it would be as big on the inside as it is. Plenty of seating and while I say in the center row, it still felt like I was really close to the action. So many great acts to see and they kept the crowd entertained with corny jokes here and there which makes it very family friendly. That pull members from the audience up keep them engaged which is nice. Every act was cool too see because it takes a lot of practice and patience to master the level they exhibited to us. Step up! Come one! Come all to Circus Flora! This family centered circus act is a whimsical ride. There were kids gymnasts, a family who did trapeze, energetic dogs jumping rope, and a lot of good family comedy! The food and drinks looked wonderful but wish I didn't come right after dinner. There is not a lot of parking so plan to pay to park. The restroom options are porta potties. The big top is semi-acessible (walker device). The music is played by a live band but they do bring the house down so bring noise headphones for the little ones. read more

What a fun event! I'm not much of a circus goer, but this is such a fun summer evening event for the whole family! It's kid friendly but they also have some adult drinks and it's very entertaining. Since we are part of Yelp elite we received four free tickets to the circus. It is not in a great area so just be cautious when coming. If you arrive early enough, there is free parking spot on the street. Otherwise you have to pay 15+ dollars in parking. I loved the introduction and how they get back to the community. You can get pictures with dogs, which is $15. There are food and drinks available for purchase. The inside of the circus itself was extremely hot. We were not able to stay a full hour due to the heat and having two young children. It is not set up for young children. They were trying to encourage me to not bring my car seat into the section and told me they would hold my Carseat. However, I was uncomfortable with that. I did have a ticket for her so the car seat fit in the seat with no problem, but we did have no one sitting next to us. If there was someone sitting next to us I think it would've been a bit of an issue. The circus started late. It did not cool down at all while in the tent. They did have a great performance, and my son was pleased, especially with the dog act. The reason for my three stars is not being very accommodating for smaller children who are in strollers and car seats, The heat inside the tent, which made it unbearable to stay the entire time and starting super late. Reason for starting late is an issue is because with little kids, they have bedtime but you for your mom you get it but also the long drive depending on where you're coming from. read more

Circus Flora is such a special St. Louis experience! Showcasing the talent of our wonderful city in an intimate Big Top setting. They don't use large circus animals which I really appreciate. They also have youth performers which is so amazing! It really shows kids that they can do anything. I recommend going early in the summer as it can get hot but it's so worth it! read more

I was so grateful to get the chance to come here to watch my first circus! It was an incredible show! I had to pay for parking across the street ($10) because there was limited street parking available. After parking, my family and I headed over to check in. This was my first time at a circus! I felt like a kid again, it was very fun. The show was family-friendly and offered a wide variety of entertainment from kids tumbling and making human pyramids to dogs doing backflips. The favorite for us was definitely the acrobats flying across the trapezes. We were moved to outside to see a guy shot from a cannon, which was a fun little break up of the entirety of the show. What an amazing show! I've driven by but we had never been. What a miss on our part! The performers were all excellent and at a level that I didn't expect. The variety of acts was also great. Baton twirling, horse riding, acrobatic dogs, trapeze artists, high wire acts and a contortionist! There were also a number of talented kids doing acrobatics. I'm sure I'm forgetting something's, and apologize to any of the artists that might read this, you are all extremely talented! If you get the chance, GO! (Pro tip, the parking lot directly across from the box office is cheaper and closer than the others!) read more

The space is smallish.. so you get to see what is involved in set up for different parts of the show. All of what you think of when you hear circus, outside of large animals, is well represented! This circus was introduced as a nonprofit organization. This is there 40th year celebration. They are local to St. Louis. 6/4 show was peanut free allergy show. That's nice to consider for those with peanut allergies. There were acrobatics, dog tricks, comedy,etc. there was a 15 minute break to use restroom and concession stand. Compared to my one other experience at a circus, Circus Flora is very intimate and family-focused. This was very different from attending a big-top circus event. It was much more like a small-top (small town) circus. There were so many opportunities to meet the performers and get pictures taken with them if you wanted. There were lots of local performers (local kids). It was clear that this organization partners closely with local children's hospitals and tries to provide entertainment for children who otherwise wouldn't be able to attend. The night we went was peanut-free (for allergy reasons) and they announced an upcoming sensory night for children who respond differently to stimuli. In terms of acts, there were lots of acrobats including a flying trapeze. A man was shot out of a canon during the intermission. Our favorite act was a group of performing dogs that were wagging their cute little tails the entire time! The kids seemed to really respond to the jokes and acts throughout. read more

I've visited Circus Flora every year since my early childhood, and I can't wait to continue this tradition with my own family someday. There's definitely not a bad seat in the tent, but there is something quite magical about sitting in the front row when the horses breeze past you. Every year, the show has a new theme that brings new acts and excitement, while of course making sure to include the classic favorites, like the Flying Wallendas. The tent's air conditioning is top-notch, so you won't have to worry about overheating on a hot summer day. There's plenty of parking conveniently located all around. A fantastic two hours. Air conditioned tent kept us cool. The theme for our show was "Marooned", starring two entertaining pirates. The acts by the various artists, including tightrope, acrobatics, trapeze, and horseback feats were all astounding and kept my school aged son and I fascinated. A must see in St. Louis! read more

How have I not been to Circus Flora before now? O M G! I was so impressed with the various feats! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. And it's very cool that all of the performers came out to meet the patrons at the end of the show. My only negative is that it was difficult at times to understand what was being said by the announcer. Perhaps the sound system needs to be upgraded so it is louder than the air conditioning. (And having a/c was a plus in the searing heat, so thank you Circus Flora for that!). Can't wait til it returns next year. read more

Every year I stalk the Circus Flora site to grab front row tickets right when they go on sale because I love it sooo much! The companion animals, the sassy/sexy/goofy costumes, the personalities and you betcha- the frozies. I can't fail to mention the peanuts my husband guzzles by the handful. Each year has a different theme and slight change in acts. There are staple acts that tweak their show a bit, as well. The pre-show festivities seemed to have died down in recent years where there really isn't much going on before-hand but that doesn't stop my excitement to get there early and look around. Come on over, get a pre-show cocktail in the theater district, a frozie at the show, pet the pig, take some photos and enjoy the greatest show in the Midwest! read more

Although Circus Flora has been a St Louis tradition for over 20 years Friday night was our first time. It is located just off the SLU campus and has well lit walkways and ample parking. We didn't arrive as early as we had hoped and used paid parking just north and an easy walk away. The circus is family friendly and involves an espionage theme that is just silly fun. The circus is nonprofit and very affordable with lots of ticket giveaways including Veterans Vettix where we got ours for a nominal fee. Animal acts include camels, dogs and a huge pig. There is an excellent high wire act and an act where a couple shoots crossbows towards each other and pops targets. There's plenty for kids including face painting, camel rides and lots of snacks. Adult beverages are also available for sale. There is juggling and a woman who performs an aerial dance suspended by her hair! The finale involves 1,2, and 3 motorcycles in a small cage that is better than any LAS Vegas stunt! We definitely will go again next season! Great fun and a pleasurable night out! read more

The Flying Willendas made me so nervous esp since they didn't have a net! I will say it was hard for us to hear the clown that narrated the show. My husband and I went to the 'Trial of the Century', we really enjoyed how the story was woven into the performances. Really enjoyed all of the different acts. Amazing performers, I don't think there is a 'bad' seat in the big top, we were on the side stage and it was great. They also check for vaccination cards, which we appreciated. If you are afraid of clowns, get over it because Circus Flora's production this year, Vagabond Adventures, is nothing short of amazing! It's not the typical circus with a ton of animals that look like they are in hell during their "performance". Instead Circus Flora tells a narrative that is supported by high wire acts, flying trapeze, awesome tumblers and yes there are horses and the cutest dogs ever as the animal acts. Circus Flora relies more on the creative and human aspect of performance. For the past 3 years, I have attended a Circus Flora production and this year is by far the best. And it is great for kids and adults. Nino the clown is a crowd favorite and you can hear the little kids yelling his name. So cute. Don't miss Aureila Wallenda on the rope swing. Sort of cool sort of scary since she's doing it without a net but completely mesmerizing. And did I mention the tent is air conditioned?? It was practicely freezing inside but I nice change from the 90 degree weather outside. There are concession stands with water, soda, cotton candy and such so all of circus food you woud expect to have is on hand. Great time for the family, a date night or go with a group of friends. I fell in love with the circus after going to Circus Flora this past year. Being terrified of clowns, I never could bring myself to go but this year my friend Lisa was able to get a deal on tickets and invited us. Nervous all week, the Sunday came when we were to attend and I will admit I was sweating a bit. Would clowns be greeting people? Would they come after me? I was thinking the worst things and of course my friends promised to "protect me" if necessary. Lets just say I was blown away by the experience. From the atmosphere inside the tent to the energy outside, everything was a wonderful theatrical experience. The acts were breathtaking and incredibly exciting. I loved the story line and people were riveted. There was one clown who did freak me out but that is due to my own neuroses. This is a wonderful event to bring family and friends to for a unique experience. I would highly recommend Circus Flora to anyone! read more

This was my second year seeing Circus Flora and it was still just as amazing as last year! First, it is EXTREMELY affordable, especially for a circus. Their tickets range from $10-$48 (depending on the day and time). We went last night (Tuesday) for $10 a ticket. After fees and everything, it ended up being $13 a ticket, which is incredible! For that $10 ticket, we were able to sit in the middle of the side mezzanine (and that was with waiting until the day of to buy the ticket). I honestly don't think there is a bad seat in the house, but will say that you miss some of the facial expressions of the performers by sitting on the side. Therefore, it may be worth it to spend an extra $10 to get a head-on view. Similar to the tickets, the parking is cheap as well ($5). However, if you're lucky like me, you'll park on the street nearby for free! In addition to affordable tickets, the performance is incredible. They had some of the same great performers as last year (e.g., the tumbling children and the tight rope walkers). They also had some equally fantastic new performers (e.g., trapeze group and the adorable dogs). I really don't think there was a bad act in the whole show, which really says something. No different than last year....I was equally impressed with the live band, the comedy, and the ring master. I'd say there were only two downsides (and I'm being very picky). First, the theme (Pastime) wasn't as fleshed out as last year, but still was a good story nonetheless. Second, the speakers seemed pretty loud (but maybe my ears are just sensitive). Finally, It is worth noting that the circus is non-profit and that they do quite a few great things for the community, including Clowns on Call and Tumbling & Teamwork. Finally, they give away tickets to children and families from underserved communities. The show is running through July 3 (everyday except Monday). I definitely plan on going again and you should too! read more

Very family and wallet friendly. Parking was great too for $5. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. Yes, I had read the reviews, but compared to say Cirque de Soleil, this Circus Flora was incredibly cheap. Even walking in the concession stand prices were cheaper than a movie theater. Then you go in to this huge tent in the parking lot where every seat seems like a good one. I was blown away by the performances. It was a fantastic show. It was fun. The clown was really funny. The tumblers were great. The animal acts were amusing. The high wire act raised my blood pressure quite a bit, and the trampoline finale was just loads of fun. It was very high quality. I have to add that the best part, the cherry on top, was the live music. Who has freaking live music at a carnival? Circus Flora does, and it was amazing.
