Today was my first time at Stages! Lovely little theater. St. Louis is lucky to be getting the new Jane Austen musical before its Broadway debut and I'm happy I took the time today to check out the matinee show. Parking is a little difficult due to a small lot, but I was able to snag street parking around the corner which worked out just fine. I sat in the front row and had a great view. The seats were pretty comfortable and the patrons were respectful apart for some errant ringtones throughout the show. I treated myself to a signature cocktail during intermission which was a little too sweet (and expensive at $13 + tip) but also flavorful and refreshing as a dessert type drink. For the 2025 season, they are offering a discount on tickets with the code Explore50, making tickets for any of their productions $50 (inclusive of service charges). Unless you're a student or senior, this is the best ticket price you can find. It also allows you to sit anywhere so treat yourself and sit in the front row to admire Mr. Darcy you can! read more

Saw Carole King musical and it was just fabulous. Lead had a great voice and all the main players were just wonderful. It was funny, dramatic and had such great music and learned a lot about Carole King. Seats were fantastic and the theater is such a great place. Only complaint is I bought a ticket package that was stated included pre show reception with "drinks". But the drinks were a coupon for a single coffee or soft drink, just thought it was a bit misleading. read more

STAGES has phenomenal actors. This was truly one of the best plays/performances I have ever seen in my life... and I've seen many a show. We saw Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and as someone who had never even really heard of Carole King... WOW! I was speechless from the brilliant acting and phenomenal voice of the lead. The staff were super friendly and helpful as well. I'll review the venue separately (Kirkwood Performing Arts Center)... but it was beautiful and super modern! 11/10 experience! read more

We love Stages St. Louis and enjoy our season tickets every year. The theater is beautifully designed and decorated. Their shows are top notch and right in a smaller but modern theater. If you love live theater you are missing out. Their latest show, Clue, is hilariously funny and the first play they have done in over 30 years. Typically they do musicals. The actors are captivating and the sound and set is exceptional for local theater. If you keep an eye out on social media, they run specials for tickets. It's one of my favorite theaters and a great location with lots of great restaurants to grab a bite before or after the show. read more

I loved these performers! They were great! After reading the review of "Anything Goes" in the Post-Dispatch, both my mom and I were looking forward to seeing the performance at Stages St. Louis. We ended up going to the show on Saturday afternoon, as the Sunday performance was almost entirely sold out. From what I could discern, there was not an empty seat in the house for Saturday's performance. In fact, one of the employees even mentioned that the high stools--seats in the back--were at capacity. Before this visit, I was not aware that Stages held auditions in St. Louis and New York to attract Broadway talent and support professional local actors. The theater setup is excellent; we were fortunate to get seats very close to the stage but I don't think there would be a bad seat. The actors did an excellent job reinterpreting the classic musical comedy. The dancing and singing were phenomenal as were the costumes. Good to know: the restrooms can get packed during intermission, so plan to attend before the show starts. There is also a confection stand offering sweets (cake, cookies, etc.) that can be pre-ordered for intermission. I look forward to sampling the offerings on another visit, a distinct possibility given Stages' stellar lineup. read more

The theater is Crescent shape any of the seats are fabulous-- you can see the stage. It had several levels on the floor. I didn't notice the balcony I just noticed the stage, the lighting was really good great sound. It seems that all of their shows have equity actors. so for regional theater these guests are blessed with some New York actors starring at the STAGES which is a good thing. Stages shines again with its 2017 opening show "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". It's an updated version and the entire crew hit a homerun. A couple of new songs, new dance numbers and staging were fantastic. There wasn't a bad note all night but special kudos to Joseph, the narrator and Levi. Bravo! read more

Love theatre? Want to see great talent? Want to sit comfortably during the show? Don't want to pay an arm and a leg? Don't want to swelter in the summer heat of the Muny? Stages is your answer. Saw last night's production of "The Drowsy Chaperone" and was absolutely blown away!! Let me start by saying I'm a huge theatre snob. Especially when it comes to musicals. I know what I like and I like shows as they're done on Broadway with the best talent. Not only did Stages meet my expectations, but it blew them out of the water!! The theatre was a good size. Large enough to accommodate a large audience, but still small enough that you get the intimate theatre experience like I love about Broadway. On top of that, the space between the seats is large enough that you have room to comfortably sit without your knees hitting the back of the chairs in front of you. Affordable tickets are another huge plus. The talent was definitely equal to any of the casts that come through the Fox, but three of us went for what it would normally cost for one to go see something at the Fox. I left the theatre with a huge smile on my face with that feeling that only comes with having seen a great piece of theatre. (Plus, it was out in time to grab custard at The Custard Station!) I would absolutely return to see just about any show that Stages does. read more

Stages is a great Theatre Company/Spot in STL! It's a lot less popular and heard of but I highly recommend keeping and eye on their schedule. I've seen a few different performances here and they have all been phenomenal. Tickets can a be a little pricey but they do have "student rush" and, I think, "last minute" seats for the day of that are super duper discounted. This Theatre is the perfect size and all the seats are close. You don't really need to worry about where you are which is always a nice thing when seeing a live show. They have amazing performances. One of my favorites is The Drowsy Chaperone from around 2009. It was soooooo goood and that's one of my favorite shows. It's quite entertaining. Go see a play! read more

We are just coming home from our 1st visit to this venue. We saw the show, "Alaways.....Patsy." The lead was sung by Diana DiGarmo from American Idol. The show was fantastic! We loved everything about it!! There is not a bad seat in the house! The intermission cocktails and snakes were excellent and not super pricey. Since it is a smalle venue, the parking was not even a little problem. We will absolutely see other shows there! It just feels so much more intimate than the Fox. Acoustics were awesome! We will definitely be going back and considering the purchase of season tickets! read more

Intimate theater with stadium seating -- any seat except in the first row or two should garner you a clear view. The current production, "I Do! I Do!" is an adorable look at 50 years in a marriage that begins in 1895. It's a demanding show of the 2 actors (only two), so there are alternating casts. I've seen both Steve Isom/Corinne Melancon and David Schmittou/Kari Ely multiple times in this production and have taken many guests with me. Literally everyone I've taken to see this show has enjoyed it -- from a 12-year-old girl to my 91-year-old aunt. This little-produced musical is absolutely perfect for Stages St. Louis. I'm thrilled they're doing it through July 1. Go see it! read more

Tuesday evening we say the most wonderful 2 hour musical we have ever seen. It was Always Patsy Cline. It consisted of two wonderful entertainers! One being a fabulous singer and the other a tremendous comedic actress. Jacqueline Petrocca who portrays Patsy CLINE flawlessly. Zoe Vonder Haer portrayed the pen pal Louise to the T. Country music fan or not I recommend this musical. Spectacular!1 read more

What a great little Theatre company hiding out in Kirkwood. It's small enough to minimize the crazy crowds of The Fabulous Fox, but it's large enough to make it worth the while. The stadium seating was great and the parking was a breeze. Not certain I'd recommend changing a thing. However I'd need to return a few more more time to fairly evaluate. But over all the sound and view was great. read more

We are season ticket holders for Stages performances. However, I don't know if we will continue to do this. Making sarcastic political remarks during the performance is out of line and disappointing. We don't all have the same political views so keep this out of your performances. This happened in "Joseph" and yesterday in "9 to 5." We will not continue to support Stages monetarily or verbally if political statements must be part of your performances. read more

Worst customer service ever! Would leave 0 stars if I could. My daughter is enrolled in the performing arts academy. I struggled with the online enrollment system, so sent them an email. Two weeks later, I had received no response. I figured out the online system but then wanted to change her class. I emailed and left voicemails multiple times and no one got back with me. I finally caught someone at the desk and got her class changed, but there was still a charge to my account for the other class. I've called and emailed several times about this and have yet to hear from someone. They literally have the poorest customer service I've ever experienced. Additionally, my five-year-old finds the class boring. The teacher is consistently late. Parents can't watch. And it's way overpriced for what it seems we've gotten so far - play time in a small classroom with a few play lines thrown in. I would've withdrawn my child, but their policy is no refunds of any amount after the first day of class. Nevertheless, I'm still considering it. I've had my kids in multiple programs around St. Louis and have been pleased with most of them. This is the only one with which I've been tremendously displeased. Stay away. Huge mistake coming here. read more

My friend and I saw My One and Only yesterday afternoon, Wednesday/10-3-2012. Had front row seats and we had the best time and saw the most wonderful stage performance, up close and personal, I have seen in ages. It was FUN and exciting from the first minute to the encore. Every performer was outstanding and I desperately want to tap dance :) ((never happen)) !! My newest crush is David Elder, the best looking man I have seen in person in a long time, a very l-o-n-g time. xxxxxx ooooooo And, those "stage kisses"? They looked pretty darn real to me.
