This is HANDS DOWN the absolutely best Gordita I have ever eaten. It's at Cisco's Taqueria at 3403 Louetta (near Ella). I really mean it. I can't even come up with a close second. They're filled full, have avocado in them and the breading is nice and thin, not all doughy. We've been here multiple times and the quality and taste are consistent.

    Chilaquiles

I got their chilaquiles. Both red and green. So good! The green opened up my airways a bit, nice and spicy for me. Recommend their quesabirria tacos and menudo on weekends too

    Menu

Great food. The workers were friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. The food was cooked made to order and came out very fresh and hot. Would recommend.

Come in and get you a Barbacoa Gordita. Won't regret it. So flavorful, crispy, good. The pozolle is clean and can't wait to come back for more.

Occasionally, I'll have flour tortillas if I can't have corn. I thought I had already eaten the finest tacos ever made up in the Woodlands, but that place went out of business. Heartbreak. Then I read about the Taco House, outlandish claims of excellence. I have to try this upstart tacoria! Oh my god, every thing I had read was true. The finest tacos ever made are here, the tortillas are thick, flavorful. The ingredients that go into your taco are infused with a magical flavor that is unbelievable, there is a lot to choose from. My wife and I ordered 4 and ate them there. We then got 4 to go , with the orange sauce, the mildest one. Do yourself a favor and use it liberally, you won't regret it. The restaurant is located on FM 2920, in the space my favorite hamburger restaurant, 'Jack's', was.

I'd wanted to try La Cocina for a while for that reason and those plans finally came to fruition. You walk up to a counter that has all the ingredients for taco making right in front of you. The guy asks you how many you are going to want, and if you want flour or corn, so he can let them know in the back to make your tortillas fresh. About 2 minutes later, out came our tortillas. I ordered 3: one with eggs and bacon, one with some kind of egg and sausage combo and one non-breakfast taco with fajita meat. The fajita taco was just okay, but the breakfast tacos had me thinking about them for hours after the fact. They aren't very big, so if you're a growing boy like me, I'd aim for 4-5 of them. The guy behind the counter tried to guide us into his suggestion of 2 each, but I jumped in and said make it 3 for me. If I could go back in time, I would have done 4 and made them all the breakfast variety. Both breakfast tacos were straight bangers from another dimension. All the sauces were great and none were too spicy. I might have to return to this place sooner rather than later because I really did think about it the rest of the day. I love you, La Cocina.

Bottom line , this is my new favorite for menudo... awesome flavor, contents are spot on great (with onion.. a first!), and the barbacoa was awesome!! I initially googled birria tacos near me and seen a review say something along the lines of 'their birria tacos are to die for' so I had to try them out. Thank you to whoever posted that review! It was actually like 5 minutes up the street, which was so convenient. It's next to the store/gas station. Plenty of options for parking, but there's not any traditional parking lines or spaces. I just parked near the side. Also, I believe they ONLY take cash! Of course I ordered the birria tacos and ate them there. They were pretty good and I could definitely see myself coming back (especially for the convenience). I will say that I've had better (I'm a huuuuge authentic taco lover & I've had plenty of birria tacos from different places/cities). I would give them a 8/10. I was looking for it to be more on the "messier" side (packed with meat, real cheesy, loaded with onions and cilantro), but theirs was more on the conservative side lol which I'm glad they took their time making it, but I like my birria real messy! I did find another birria spot but it's 20 min away so I would still come back due to convenience. Overall great tacos!

My brother and I stopped in for carryout breakfast tacos on a Sunday morning. Alas, they didn't have brisket breakfast tacos, but had some good alternatives. Their flour tortilla is the choice here, and I believe it is Sonoran style: good enough to just eat by itself. My absolute favorite was the barbacoa ($3.25), very tender stewed beef with added onion and cilantro...not meant to be a breakfast taco I think. The other 3 tacos I tried did have egg. The potato & egg ($3.25) had big chunks of potato and plenty of egg: very filling not particularly tasty. The chorizo and egg ($3.25) was was prepared together, with the small chorizo pieces mixed in with the egg. And the fajita and egg ($4.79) used two slices of skirt steak flavored with fajita flavoring...for my preference, works better in skillet fajitas than in a breakfast taco. They also have menudo on the weekends, and both their corn and flour tortillas are homemade. As mentioned before, the flour tortillas are really good, and the barbacoa is definitely worth a visit.
