This place is great for a quick bite to eat. Fast friendly service at great prices, huge portions, and good green salsa. Really good green salsa. Make sure you eat your chips with the salsa!! My husband and I stop by here when we are visiting his friends on this side of town. The service is friendly and they are open late. I can't brag on a quesadilla since it's just a basic quesadilla. Just meat and cheese. The beans and rice aren't anything special. The horchata is sweet, but doesn't really taste homemade. The enchiladas were really good and tasted really fresh considering most restaurants make them in bulk (pre rolled) and just add fresh salsa heated in a pan and melt the cheese. When we first walked in, we were not greeted and after waiting for a bit, someone eventually told us that we could sit wherever we wanted. My review will only be for breakfast. I have eaten inside once and ordered take out 5-6 times. Located in an old closed down Arbys fast food restaurant with plenty of parking and seating. Nothing fancy and a little dated but it gets the job done. They also have a drive thru but I have never used it. I usually call in my order day before and pick up very early on Sat. I do this when it's my turn to buy breakfast for coworkers. I suggest these 2 favs of mine Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles Con Pollo with red sauce. Both are really good but I prefer the 2nd more. So the reviews say 4 stars buuuttt if I give 4 stars the place has to legitimately be that. It is clean as some reviews state but the waitress took a little long to bring back water or menu or take my order or anything. Ended up switching my waitress to a waiter. I didn't ask for this but this is just what happened, and I was fine with it because he was a little more attentive so it worked out. The pricing is fair and portions are grand but I agree with one of the other yelpers... the food is a tad bit on the bland side, as in, when they cooked the food the negated to use salt or pepper. I had a breakfast burrito which included chorizo (Mexican sausage), retried beans, eggs, white cheese and potatoes. Lots of ingredients and all cooked well with the exception of needing a little salt and pepper. One thing I can say is their red and green hot sauce that comes out with the chips is ON POINT!!! Just when I'm moving to Dallas, I finally find a place in Houston that has what I consider decent Mexican food and not strictly Tex Mex. My Godmother ordered chicken tacos and they looked very moist. My Godfather ordered a California Burrito which had rice instead of the traditional fries that I'm used to. Friendly staff and delicious food. The aqua frescas, I can tell are powdered mixes, but that's ok, I may be wrong. I would honestly say my go to for the mornings are the Chilaquiles Norteños. Absolutely to die for. Dinner it depends on what mood I'm in. I haven't gone wrong with Pollo, Puerco Y Res (Chicken, Pork and Beef) or the Enchiladas Jaliscienses. I have to admit, an authentic place with a drive thru is truly a good way to keep you coming over for some of the best burritos in town. On nights that I just wanna stay home and eat a good meal with a delicious margarita, El Rodeo de Jalisco is the place to go. I am a fan of their burritos since they are delicious, large and reasonably priced, along with their mango margarita to-go which is also my favorite beverage. The staff is better when you come inside and dine rather than drive-thru, seems like they are always in a rush and for some reason always forget to bag something up hence why I rather just stay there and dine or walk-in for a to-go order. Their salsa is a little watery sometimes but it is very delicious especially when it's warm, my family goes crazy over their chips and salsa. Carne guisada is another of my favorite dishes to order, it is always warm, slightly spicy and delicious. I'd say give it a chance! read more

I love this place. I drove by this weekend, but I had already eaten so I didn't stop. I did notice that the parking lot was FULL. I decided to pop in today to see what the place was about. As soon as I walked in, I observed what looked to be like a typical taqueria. I sat down and browsed the lunch menu. I noticed a few things upon looking at the menu. Food looked authentic - check Food was cheap - check Food looked good - check So I proceeded to order the lunch quesadillas. They looked and tasted just like the picture - they were great. In looking at some of what the other patrons ordered - everything looked good and authentic. The only thing not authentic about this taqueria is the place looks and feels clean! (I haven't tried their breakfast yet). 5) Free ice cream cones for dessert.
