Super easy to find and is just off of Broadway in El Cajon close to the 8 freeway. There is plenty of parking so you can be in and out pretty quick. I did my transaction and left within just a few minutes. The next time I am in El Cajon, I would not hesitate to return to this location and if the need arises, I would not hesitate to switch to this credit union.

The manager, LUIS LOPEZ, has been neglectful, neglected, rude, and unhelpful. A teller explained to him that I needed to speak with him and he said he's in DUO and needed to focus his attention on a teller. If you are the only manager available and a teller says that she needs you to assist a customer, as the manager are the only one that can help, why would you make the customer wait for over 15+ minutes for you to assist?! Unfortunately, the SSA was still depositing my retirement check in an account that "CHASEd me away" had closed. I went to "CHASEd me away" and demanded my retirement money. Unsurprisingly, they accessed a restricted account and gave me my SSA $$$ in the form of a cashiers check. The manager of the El Cajon branch recently helped me to change my checking account of record to my HomeStreet account. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

What's important right now is that I had a money order to deposit and when I was leaving Target I saw a HomeStreet Bank and said to myself, why not deposit there? It'd be a good test of their customer service to see if they can deposit it without an ATM card or even an account number on me. It took the teller a minute, but she did indeed find my account and a few minutes later, I was walking out with said money order in the bank's hands. I have personally ever experienced in a bank and we've been with the Navy Federal Bank for 30 years. My mother is elder Bedford. Her debit card wasn't working. She hasn't drove a vehicle in 20 years. They wanted her to get a identification card, which is fine. That took a week remind you there's no food for her. There's no medicine for her. There's nothing her kids had to figure something out the following week go back into the branch. They literally give this 80 year-old elder so much obstacles just to unlock her debit card and get her money, it was absolutely asinine the disrespect we got from that branch and the people working there was diabolical. Again on her son, and they looked at me like I was literally a criminal who should not be in there when in fact, I'm the one who's been taking care of my mother for the last 20 years I took days off work to go in there to solve this issue so we can get her medicine. They told us basically go get another bank account from another financial institution find 16 different forms of identification, even though the woman told us she knows my mom was the woman but there's policy and that's the problem. Navy Federal's policy basically is elder abuse it needs to change because there's no way an elder woman should be waiting almost 2 weeks to get her money and then go back in to have more obstacles to have to deal with just to identify her even though the branch lady says she knows the woman in front of her is the same woman. She informed me exactly what was needed and I wrote down everything she requested, word for word. I live an hour and 20 minutes away from the nearest branch and wanted to make sure before I made the drive. I woke up early on my only day off on a Saturday morning, drove an hour and a half, and waited 45 minutes before being told that I didn't bring the correct documentation and that I couldn't be helped. I advised the assistant branch manager that I brought everything the branch manager told me to bring. She just held her hands up and said there was nothing she could do. There was absolutely no apology or empathy. Take your business elsewhere. I have dealt with this horrible service and "don't give a crud" attitude MANY times at this branch. Find yourself another credit union. Don't waste your time here. They obviously don't give a heck about their customers. I used to love SDCCU. Now, they're just like any other big bank. It is so easy to deposit using the app, so in that sense, it feels like a big bank, but I can also call the branch if I have a specific need. I have bank accounts for myself, my husband and both of my kids. We have mortgage and car loans here as well. I can use the numerous ATMs around the city, so even though I don't live nearby, I can still access my money. Also, my daughters add to their piggy banks with coins all year long, and then take them to the fee-free coin kiosk to turn their coins into dollars!
