A location that's ABSOLUTELY GOOD FOR NOTHING!!!! I am SOOO glad I am not personally a member of Citibank, however my Best Buy CC utilizes Citibank. One would think that if you have to make a payment, you could do it directly with the bank that company deals with? That is not the case with this branch. There tellers are probably so incompetent and lazy they don't know how to process the transactions. I just also received check (once again from Citibank) and wasn't able to cash it at this branch. I was told another branch farther than I'd like to go to cash a check would be able to help me better. Going into and out of this branch was just a huge disappointment. This branch of CITI sucks, they would lie to get you to open a bank account with so called promotions, but be aware they could use any excuse to actually give you the bonus you expecting and provide you no help when their system has glitch's which made me pay for tax on "bonus" I never received. If could give this place 0 stars I would. I never had an issue with this branch before but I've mostly just dealt with the ATM. Unfortunately I recently had to deal with fraudulent charges and I had to be at a branch location in order to take out money while the block on my account was temporarily removed. When I tried getting my money from the branch they refused to help me stating they couldn't. I called the fraud department and they in turn basically had to tell the branch manager to do their job in order to get things done. Now I'm waiting to close the account, only one person is helping people and the branch manager just stands behind the Clerks and sits, basically not bothering with customer service. To just have one person handle customers service is ridiculous and not asserting yourself as a manager to speed things up is laughable. read more

Horrible Service. When I foolishly and stupidly gave out my account information to some scammers instead of closing my account and mailing me a check for the remaining balance. They just closed my account. I haven't seen a check for the remaining balance of the money in my account that they closed for almost 2 months. She helped me open a CD account and explained the whole process very well and guided me in choosing the best option for my account. This bank looked a lot better on the inside then the out and was under the impression I would receive exceptional service, but that was not the case. This Citibank not only took up a lot of my time/day but was incredilbly rude. The teller by the name of Maria Lopez made this happen. I came in with a wavecap (du-rag) on and felt lime I was being racially profiled just because I was black. Maria then told me I cannot cash my check and proceeded to deposit the check issuing a hold on it. I left the bank and called the 1 800 # and was told that " I should have gotten the option to choose and not deposited right way" I went back to reverse and Vance the transaction and Maria had an attitude and got my gf really upset. Today, we tried to open a business account with the banker. but the banker Ethan H. has a terrible attitude. and within less than 10 min. he keep using hand sanitizer, I was so scared because it seems like he has so many virus in his hand. I was here to try and add my wife's name to my checking account. I went in the bank and there was only 1 customer in the bank, doing business at the teller. There was a gentleman sitting at a desk doing nothing. I went up to him and told him I needed some help. He asked how he can help and I told him I would like to add my wife's name to my account. She took time off work to go with me that day. This gentleman said he could not help me without an appointment. I asked why he can't help me since he's doing nothing at the moment. He said he was "expecting an appointment". But surely you can help me and then when your appointment shows up, they would be next in line for help. Isn't that how things work? Just as I was about to leave, I went to the teller to deposit my check. The teller was very helpful and courteous. He asked if I wanted to apply for a credit card because they had a special promotion and to ask his colleague, the gentleman that's sitting at his desk doing absolutely nothing to help me apply. I told him I didn't want to waste that guy's precious time as he can't help me add my wife's name to my account. I would hope the management of this bank read this review, maybe change things up a bit to be more service oriented. Not only offer help when they want you to sign up for new accounts, but to service the needs of current account holders as well. read more

You actually have to pick a star to place your review. Wow. I've never been to a bank that won't take your money or payment. It just seems you walk into a twilight zone. No customers of course and 2 open windows for service. I couldn't not make a credit card payment unless I had an account. But my credit card shows your bank. Then they tell you. Get a pin and use an ATM as if the only 2 ladies working are only there for show. Nothing like being with a credit union no fees and the believe in customer service. I visited to El Monte branch quite offen. I visited the branch on Saturday at 1:40pm for open account. Bank closes at 2:00pm on Saturday. I was refused to serve because it closes to the closing time and was asked to set an appointment if I need to open account on Saturday. I was so disappointed. On my way to leave, I passed by the Branch Manager's desk. He has a customer at the time. I asked him please help me because I can't come back in next week. The branch manager was very nice, willing to help, and asked me to wait for him once he is done of serving the existing customer. The Branch Manager and a teller, Kevin Hwang stayed overtime to help me. I felt so sorry of making them stayed overtime. I come here a lot because it is near where I am staying. Too bad I am usually in a hurry or bad-timing and keep missing the check-in to show I am a regular. Anyhow, I usually come here to withdraw money from the ATM that is outside when I need cash-payments. Otherwise, I usually go in to make a deposit; trying to save up and become a Citigold status without receiving monthly charges for the missing requirements. Plus, services are quick, never really a line compared to Bank of America or Wells Fargo. I have happen to come across the same bank teller every time I make a deposit. The friendly bank teller looks young and beautiful, and I always have her shred my receipt after when I am done. I did noticed and feel like even though she is dress really nice for work, but she is sort-of revealing compared to other bank tellers. read more

I'm no longer at my other citi branch in Monterey Park. But this place seems cool. Quick service if you come in before 3pm. That I noticed. I got a 2 credit cards/check acct./saving acct. Here. And still have my other accts. With chase. Anyways you can pay or deposit all thru their Atms. Even your credit cards so that makes it a lot easier or pay on line. I'm only a 1.5 miles away so guess this will be my new branch. Haven't seen any Sexy girls and I don't know if any of them speak Spanish, lol...So make sure you know English or your going to be screwed! Hahhaha read more

The Teller Amanda has poor customer service skills, shows discourteous behavior, lacks knowledge of products and policies. I visited the bank to complete a transaction she didn't greet us in the beginning nor thank us for banking at citi and end of transaction. She lacked professional customer service skills. When asking a question instead of doing her job description she rather referred us to go online and I asked to see a manager and she pointed I could go to the other side of the branch and go look for manager myself. From prior customer service experience if there is an issue with a customer, I would try to problem solve if not I'd get the manager at customer request. If I were a secret shopper, she would have not passed. She makes the customer feels like if she is doing you a favor by letting you bank there ( like if it were the DMV for example). The Teller: Amanda requires more customer service training and needs to update her knowledge on bank policies. And it wouldn't hurt her to smile at least once throughout the transaction instead of having a resting b* face look the whole time. She kept demanding a fee on the transaction when it clearly stated online on citi website that if it exceeded over $1,000 USD in foreign currency exchange no matter what account it would waive fee even when the baker that helped us told her she instead that it was going to be charged. (At the end of transaction I saw that I was correct about fee because of the amount I had exceeded there was no charge - even though she insisted there was going to be one no matter what) I left the Teller line displeased and went to see manager but there was no manager so a banker name Vanny helped us. She apologized for our experience and helped us complete the transaction till the very end. She hit all the expectations I had as a customer. She was courteous, smiling, looking up info if not calling customer service to check, asked us about our day- making small talk, using customer name and went the extra mile for the customer. I would give her a 5 stars but this review is to warn u about the Teller. I'd recommend Banker Vanny for excellent customer service skills but stay away from Amanda!!!! read more

Where are my sh*t emojis because that is what I need to give this branch, not stars. 10 am on a Friday and you have one teller and 12 customers in line. Then you come up with the bright idea that you would have an employee walk up and down the line asking customers if they would like a tootsie roll and if they would rather use the ATM. "YES" we would rather use the ATM where there is no line genius, but the transaction we need to make cannot be done at the ATM. Or maybe I'm standing in this long line because I think it's awesome to watch how a bunch of idiots run a business instead of going to the ATM where there is no line and I can be in and out within a matter of minutes. Instead of asking dumb questions and handing out old Halloween candy, maybe you get a cash drawer and open up a window and help some customers out. Or even better, maybe the manager sitting at his desk watching the people pile in and the line back up, show some initiative and leadership skills and lead by example and open up a window and show his slow moving single teller the importance of providing customer service and getting the customers in and out while they still have life in them.
