So all in all I really only had one choice within a 7 mile drive of me, and that was the Baycoast in Tiverton. This is the new Baycoast location. I was actually quite happy when it opened, because let's be realistic, although I have a Baycoast somewhat near my house, when I am going into town for whatever reason, I hated driving one direction to turn around and go the other direction. What I love about this location: It's brand new, so it's clean inside, the employees are nice, and when you go to the ATM or drive through, there's a farm right behind it with all sorts of cattle. It's quite picturesque. What I don't like about this bank in general: I hate that it's only drive through ATM's. Sometimes you aren't the one driving, and it's not realistic to go to a drive through ATM. If you are deciding on a bank in Westport, this bank hasn't screwed me yet, and I am not a fan of having a bank account (I dealt in cash for many years), so I suppose this one is good.

There *seems* to be a significantly longer delay in posting debit transactions to my account over the past few years.. For example, if I pay several bills electronically on Friday morning, they won't appear on my account until Monday, yet I receive an alert from my credit card companies that the payment was processed a day or two before. Same goes for checks I write to businesses or my landlord deposit immediately. It won't appear on my balance for a week or more in some cases now, when in the past they registered the next day.. It almost seems they are hoping customers will overdraft who don't monitor thier accounts closely. I am about to open another checking account with a online bank to compare.

There have been times where we have refinanced our mortgage over the years. The bank has made it convenient and easy to do this. Dan always let us know if it was worth refinancing. My husband and work different shifts so it makes it hard to get together to sign paperwork. It wasn't a problem there was a solution found. They have changed to an entirely different level. From no longer having an actual bank teller at the drive up (you do everything through the ATM and a video pops up with someone sitting in a remote location). To me that is VERY impersonal. You no longer feel like a "customer" instead it's more like just a "number". They no longer know you by name, or by face. You have to always stick your license in the ATM for them to scan after inserting your debit card. Just too much. It takes 10x longer to boot! Plus, I will add that overall, their bank tellers have horrible personalities. Not at all friendly, and usually have a puss on their faces. This past weekend we opened new accounts elsewhere, and once the Direct Deposits start hitting the new bank, we will be closing our accounts here. Sometimes extreme change is NOT A GOOD THING!
