My grandfather is a customer of this bank and since he's old and it's cold, I do his banking for him here once a month. It's literally a 43 second walk from my house to this bank. The people that work here are always so nice and sweet and YOUNG. I swear some of the people they employ are teenagers. Just because they are young, does not mean they are dumb. Their math skillz are far better than mine will ever be -- they don't care when I come to make a deposit in two different accounts and I have them figure out what 1/2 of the check is. I'm really bad @ math! They are open on Saturdays from 9am-3pm. That is a great thing, let me tell you! I'm glad they are still in business!

This is my second pre approval first was with a different bank and I was given a pre approval the same day! I'm a little worried after reading all the reviews . I understand it can be very busy, but almost 2 weeks just to look over paperwork and get an answer that I need different paperwork is somewhat unacceptable . The person I'm working with is great and very knowledgeable , but unfortunately she's probably overworked and has many other pre approvals to do which I get it's prob not her fault . It's always been a popular space, but now it's full of light, new furniture, and open space (but still a couple conference rooms). I'm a bank customer, but I much appreciate how the staff welcomes everyone to come here, whether you have an account with them or not. I was very excited to see they now carry Verve Coffee, one of my favorite roasters from California. (They formerly carried Peets.) Cap One customers can use their debit cards for 50% off, which is an even better deal now that the drinks are a bit more expensive. My 12 ounce lavender honey latte was $6 without the addition of non-dairy milk and tax. It was a tasty treat on this cold, cold day - definitely on the sweeter side. There's still an ATM near one of the front doors and another inside, with a large digital display for additional bank products. But again, they're not pushing to sell, so you can just come in for a drink and a chat, or just a relaxing place to sit. The wifi is still fast and there are plenty of outlets. It looks like they now carry some sandwiches and hot food in addition to pastries. So I'll be back!

When their service representatives can't resolve an issue, they often resort to "someone will get back to you in 1-2 business days." I've had this happen to me several times and I have sometimes missed callbacks (other times I'm not sure if they actually called me back). This is very inconvenient and frustrating and should not be part of their standard business operation. Recently, I did a balance transfer online after speaking with a person on the phone to confirm the terms for balance transferring. When I received my statement two weeks later, I saw that they charged me additional interest on top of the transfer fee. They categorized the transfer as a "cash advance" and they are charging me the high monthly interest. When I called in, they agreed with me that this was an error but they could not resolve the issue. They, instead, directed me to their Member Services Dept and I was told that they would get back to me in 1-2 days... I would not recommend this card. Their customer service department is unpleasant to deal with. Their website is clunky... If they are serious about enhancing their company (as it seems they are trying to do from their efforts via newsletters and revamping their website), they need to focus on quality customer service and make having this alumni credit card meaningful and beneficial.
