Not to worry. I'd seen a review for 863 Enterprise and made arrangements to pick us up so far in advance, I worried they wouldn't remember us. Not to worry. Despite spotty cell service, the 13 hour time difference and the late arrival, Zack was there waiting! And he checked in via text along the way to let us know he had it covered. A real help when so much else is beyond our control. In fact I'd like to suggest a logo for him... 'Not to Worry Transfers!' I don't know how he did it but even I-4 traffic was tame and we made it to Lakeland in about an hour. If you travel, or if you have a fab trip planned, or even if you want to go to a nice restaurant or event in Tampa, Orlando, or even farther afield from Polk, Zack's your man! He even solved our inscrutable dilemma of leaving out of Tampa and returning to Orlando! There's plenty to worry about when travelling today. It's a comfort to know the airport trasnsfer bit isn't one of them.

Dealing with the dispatch person and the cab showing up were fine. The driver was also okay except…read morehe only put on his seatbelt when we were passing a LEO in a school zone and only signaled turns half of the time. The very bad parts were the price and the cab, itself. The dispatcher told me there was a $35.50 minimum price, which is ridiculous. But I was desperate and didn't have Internet access so I could use Uber or Lyft, which I did on my first ride of the day, from my home to a medical appointment for less than $15.00. It was only 6.8 miles! The $25+ difference in the rides was outrageous! What upset me more was how disgustingly filthy the car was. There were suspicious stains all over the seats and the headliner. I could just imagine someone projectile vomiting from the seats to the headliner. Then the door was also extremely dirty! The car was smelly (you could smell old cigarette smoke) and the A/C didn't work...at least not in the hellish back seat. I asked the driver if he could make it cooler but, I guess, he couldn't. When I got home, I took off my clothes and told my daughter to burn them. And then I wiped myself down with Lysol disinfectant wipes. I honestly felt subhuman sitting in that nasty car. I will NEVER use Checker Cab of Lakeland, again. NEVER!

Our driver was absolutely wonderful--he not only got us to the cruise port safely but also took the time to explain exactly where to go and what to expect for pickup after our cruise. When our flight was delayed after disembarking and we unexpectedly needed to stay at a hotel, he went above and beyond. He offered to pick us up and take us to the airport free of charge just to make sure the kids got there safely. That kind of kindness and care is so rare these days. This is truly a wonderful company with an owner who clearly cares about their customers. Could not recommend them enough!
