I wanted to write an updated review since my last one was when our son was going to this place for the first time. Now our son is almost 2, and I'm still unbelievably impressed with Dr. Ortuno & his office. He really is amazing and I can't express that enough. You can tell how much he loves his job & how down to earth he is. He's so easy to talk to and he really cares about your child. I wish I had a pediatrician like him when I was little because it would've made going to the doctors much more easier and less stressful. He's patient, caring and gives great advice when we ask for tips. I make sure to recommend him to anyone in the area looking for a fantastic pediatrician. We are forever thankful. read more

LOVE Dr. Ortuno and his MA Kara. Both of them have have been so kind to both my kids and spent as much time with them as needed in their apts. Kara is the FASTEST shot giver EVER!!! Neither of my kids cried when she gave them their shots!!! My son is an epileptic and is also under Dr care at CHOC... Kara has helped me a billion times with referrals and confusing paperwork!!! Both of their level of care is beyond awesome... I am sad to see her go. read more

I'm a bit sad to read some of these comments on here. We love Dr. Ortuno, the other pediatrician (female) the MA, and Receptionist. The entire staff has always been helpful with answering our questions and last minute appts. We've been coming to this office for about 3 years now. Today, I took my daughter to Citrus Valley Urgent care during my lunch break. We arrive and there is a sign that says they will be closed from 12pm to 2pm for a meeting. Like what?! Ahh this is suppose to be an Urgent Care. So where are we supposed to go? They didn't have an alternative and the front office assistant was rude when I asked her. So I called Dr. Ortuno's office. I believe I spoke with the MA. She said they didn't have any same day appts and are going to lunch in a few mins. I asked where does she recommend I go? I have no idea where to go if the Urgent Care we go to is closed. The MA asked me what are my daughter's symptoms. I told her. She asked where I was heading and how far I was. I said, I'm literally down the block. She said can you get here at 12:10pm? I said YES! They saw my daughter before they closed for lunch. Although, my daughter's situation felt like an emergency it was not an ER visit. So I'm very thankful for this pediatric office for being there during my desperate need to help my daughter. Today wasn't the first time they have seen one of my kids last min. They have squeezed us in before. However, today was a day that made me think how truly grateful I am for having picked this pediatric office for my kids. And why I made the switch from Kaiser to Anthem. read more

We have stayed with CVP because of the nurse Kara. We have been with Dr. Ortuno since my 15 year was born. Kara has made sure that my mom worry stays at bay or makes sure that we get in for urgent appointments. My kids all love Kara and she does a great job explaining vaccines before starting. read more

Receptionist doesn't do her job, won't answer calls or process referrals correctly. The doctor seems annoyed and just wants to push you out.

Girl on the phone sounded incompetent. First, I had someone hang up on me then called back got a different girl and she was incompetent...better off with the girl who hung up on me. read more

Open during covid times! Wait time. I hardly have to wait. I've been coming here 3 years now with my kids and recently had a newborn. The longest I've had to wait was maybe 10 minutes from appt time! Services: everyone is amazing there. The staff, nurse, PA, and doctor. I usually see the PA with my kids and love how she remembers us personally. Great environment read more

Horrible service the doctors are okay with the attention they give but nothing spectacular and as far as receptionist and medical assistants go it's absolutely horrendous service I've been waiting 48 hours for a fax to be sent and instead of someone reaching out and letting me know me know the fax is not working my child was sent away from school this morning because they could not bother to do their jobs and no apology for the inconvenience I just get told we've tried too many times to fax it and it's not working so come pick it up! I would have given one star if not for Jasmine and Shilpy. We have never had an apt. w/ Dr. Artuno. We had come her after many failed attempts to find a decent pediatrician. We thought this one would work. However, without me pushing for it, we almost did not find out about a medical condition that my daughter has, had I not been insistent. We also had to go to a pediatric dentist per recommendation of a lactation consultant that Shilpy connected us to via Corona Regional Medical. The pediatric dentist informed me that she has multiple issues that affect her feeding and directed us to an OT and PT. We are now doing that as well. From here, we find out more issues we have to combat with for our daughter. This prompted me to request a phone call with Dr. Artuno immediately. Jasmine took the request and listened to all the concerns I had regarding finding things about our baby, which I would have preferred to find out at her pediatrican's office. Dr. Artuno followed up with me via phone, and the phone call was okay, until he laughed at something I said. I was supposed to bring our daughter in to see him this week, and my husband and I bowed out--followed the cancellation policy, of course. What I do not understand is how Dr. Artuno does not review patient notes? You just left it for the PAC? Shilpy is great, but she should have told us we were overfeeding her, amongst multiple other things. All of our concerns should have prompted a meeting with the doctor. read more

Connie and the nurse lead are both extremely rude and should not be working in a pediatric office. Both of them should consider new careers away from children and people. They refused to give my daughter her vaccine appt AFTER I was told she could come in by one of their other receptionist(You can listen to your phone call recordings for proof) and then when I call back the next day I'm told I need proof the she didn't apply for medical otherwise they can't take her which is complete b***s***. The next day I call I'm told AGAIN I can make an appt I get transferred to Connie who is also a b**** and no help. She then told me what her lead nurse said and I told her that her lead was completely rude and a b**** when she spoke to me. She said she wouldn't let me talk about her lead like that. Oh I'm sorry you don't wanna hear the truth? That everyone talks to patients rudely? That nobody in that office cares for anything other than a paycheck? I feel sorry for Ortuno. He's going to lose a lot of patients with those people in the front. Now I'm happily looking for a different pediatrician. read more

First off, this Doctor is hands down THE BEST Pediatrician I have met in all of Corona. I had been taking my son to him for the 2nd half of 2013 to him. Very passionate MD with a lot of knowledge in his field. All around good guy. why the 3 STAR RATING? It is due to my dissatisfaction with Citrus Valley's front office and NOT this doctor, we switched benefits to Blue Shield PPO through Covered California when my wife lost her job (I am self-employed so I cover the entire premium for our family's benefits with zero subsidies from the government), we are paying very good money for "Platinum PPO" coverage accepted everywhere except at Citrus Valley Pediatrics. I wished they hadn't reassured me that they take ALL Blue Shield PPO Insurance and anticipated no problem with the Covered California PPOs when I had asked their office in late 2013. According to the front office now, they do not take any "Covered California" plan, no matter how strong the plan may be (there are bronze, silver, gold, and platinum level options). I am not sure what led Citrus Valley to not accept Blue Shield PPO through Covered California but wish they hadn't told me two different things. This doctor is the best in town but Citrus Valley is likely going to lose a number of current and future patients for not accepting Covered California PPO's as more people sign up for those plans. read more

I have been taking my children to see Dr. Ortuno for many years now. I trust Dr. Ortuno and his staff very much. I have NEVER had any complaints about him or his staff in the 5 years I have been going there. They are always so friendly and kind and always make my visits with my children feel important. read more

I have been taking my kids to Dr. Ortuno's office since 2012 when we moved to Eastvale. My youngest son was born in 2013 and he has not been to any other Dr's office. I had never met a doctor Like Dr. Ortuno who is so awesome! I love the fact that he has the patience and love for his job and the kids he treats. Seeing that he treats the children so well gives you that sense of being at peace and trusting his judgment. Unfortunately, Dr. Ortuno has not been there for a while due to an accident he had, but has been substituted temporarily with PA Kanda who does a very good job as well and is very caring and loving with my kids specially the youngest. Connie and Kara have been there since I started taking my kids there. They are very well trained, helpful, loving and funny individuals whom honestly surprise me because I don't know how they do what they do nor where they get their patience from. Children can be a handful and even more when they're sick. Add a worried parent on top of that and they get a good load to deal with. I feel for them when they get the one parent or parents that are more than a handful put together with their kids. I mean the ones with No patience and the attitude that expects the medical assistants or nurses to do everything for them and solve everything for them. I think as parents we need to take a step back and examine ourselves and the attitudes we have when we go into a Dr's office and expect the red carpet to be rolled out. I can assure you that at Dr. Ortuno's office your children will get the most awesome treatment. My kids live going here specially my youngest son who totally loves Connie and Kara. He lives them so much because of the way they are and he feels so comfortable with them like if they were family that whenever we have to go there he goes behind their desks to hug them because that's just how he feels he should be with these ladies. These ladies have become a part of our family so much so that they are on our list of invites whenever we have our kids' birthday parties. These ladies go above and beyond to be helpful in any way possible from receiving your children and you with a smile, starting a conversation, asking how your other kids are doing, to making any extra calls to help you get what you need. I can assure you that if ever and maybe just ever you feel you had a bad experience with them, it was probably you who had the problem and maybe you weren't doing well. As adults, we need to examine ourselves first before we throw that rock at someone else. read more

Dr. Ortuno and his staff are awesome. They're very knowledgeable and provide excellent care. My daughter had been to other pediatricians elsewhere. However, none were like Dr. Ortuno. Can never get an appointment for immunizations. If you don't call on the 15th then you're pretty much screwed for the next month. So you book on the 15th for the following month. So in inefficient. It might work for them but that's no way of putting the patient first. If your child needs to be caught up with immunizations, they don't care all they care about is if you called on the 15th. Definitely not a place to take your children since they put their office needs first before your child. read more

I took my 2 year old here today because he had a low grade fever and was complaining of an ear ache. The call center to set the appointment up was very helpful and professional. The front office woman was super sweet and very friendly with my son. The office is decorated with lots of fun colors and animals and my son enjoyed looking at all of them. The wait wasn't very long, maybe 5 minutes after turning in my paperwork before we saw the doctor. The exam room was nice and big, they even had a cute touch of Dr. Seuss exam paper on the bed. I really appreciated that this office keeps minimal papers in the room and little to nothing in the drawers under the sink. This hasn't been the case in most places, which is really hard with little ones, so that was awesome. Finally, Dr. Ortuno was amazing. He was friendly right off the bat, establishing a rapport with my son. He made my son laugh during the exam with tickles and funny noises. My son usually has to be held down when doctors check his ears and nose and the Dr. was so great I didn't even have to touch my son once. We have definitely found a wonderful doctor. read more
