The level of inconsistency of not being knowledgeable about their products and how simple transactions occur-is unacceptable from the teller-all the way up to manager. From my experience Of being in the corporate world -everyone on the team should be on the same page as far as knowing how to provide the best level of service for their customer. Today, Wednesday, May 19th, 2021. I made a phone call before heading to the bank -spoke with Dennis and mentioned to make a deposit into someone else's account would require for me to get a money order and can't be done with cash unless I had an account with chase -which my credit card with chase would exclude me from being considered an account holder. I called back at 4:25PM and spoke with a young lady - told her I just spoke with Dennis -and I asked if I made the money order deposit would true money be readily be available-I confirmed twice with her and she said yes because it's like guaranteed money. So I hurried to get money orders and made it to the bank by 4:50PM (center closes at 5PM). Upon arriving, I approached the teller and confirmed that it was her that I had spoken too before I got money orders. She confirmed that. She was very lovely, friendly, professional, and courteous. The issue I was having is that :She made the deposit and then told me the funds weren't available until 5/28/2021 . Then, reversed transaction to try and see if she can cash checks using my credit card but that didn't work. I asked for the manager which told me that the reason this is happening is one of three things, my friend has either had fraudulent activity in his account, or has a new account, or has had frequent times where there were no funds... which all seemed like he was trying to come up with an excuse as to why the funds wouldn't clear sooner. And stated typically it's available one day to the next. But my friends account is different and that he should call the bank to release the funds if I make the deposit. I reached out my friend and he mentioned that he has never bee in those potential categories that the manager has mentioned . Staff failed to: ****Realize that my friend needed the money for a state of emergency -Which could negatively impact his living situation by becoming homeless for not securing the apartment he was able to come across and afford. Staff failed to: ****Make banking easy for the customer. Staff failed to: ****Meet expectations that have been previously set by Two staff members. Staff failed to: ****Have the simple knowledge of how their products work. Staff failed to: ****Please the customer. The teller did apologize for not being able to fulfill my request but never once did the manager-he should take notes from the teller on common courtesy when there is an inconvenience. I went to the location where I got my money orders and wasn't able to get my money back because the checks were made out to the recipient account holder and stamped a bunch of times on the back. Now, I have no choice but to go back to this banking center and deposit the checks and wait a week for my friend to receive the money. This banking location at assembly row Somerville, Massachusetts-shouldn't set expectations via phone or in person that they can't fulfill. It's that simple. I wasted two hours of my day by trying to reconcile and obtain my cash at hand. Thank you to the whole team for making a simple transaction become a nightmare from hell. Staff failed to realize by stamping checks, giving me misleading information, I was practically cornered and left with no other option to go back and deposit checks with them because they've been stamped too many times and made out to someone else which I can't cash. This banking center is not taking into account the impact they have on someone's life by making a simple mistake. Which could have totally been avoided had they known their stuff. Know your stuff: and, commit to your job because at the end of the day they pay your bills, rent, and food. It's your responsibility to remain ambitious and honored in the position your in. I hate that they skim a percentage off of what is already not enough to live on for a service these people deserve to get for free like the rest of us. It really just makes me sick. I guess there's no real reason why the Check Cashing Company should be the particular recipient of my wrath, but I drove by it tonight and saw some of my neighbors getting scammed, and it made me sad.
