Got a Groupon deal for Rock the Yacht Cruise which is a 1.5 hour tour of Sacramento views in the evening. Weather was perfect for a date night. It did get bit too chilly so I will recommend to bring a sweater if you plan on sitting outside. There are indoor and outdoor seatings. Inside the yacht, music was playing and you can dance the night away. There wasn't much food options. There is a bar and they do offer alcohols. Overall, it was a cool experience.

First time here! Food: I tried the mocktail from the bar (margarita) and I liked it. :) service: nice staff . Ambiance: beautiful views of the Sacramento River and it was so relaxing .

Went on cruise July 17th..see receipt. This is a one hour tour aboard the Hornblower. The easiest way is to take the elevator out front of Delta King and then walk straight to the boat ( no steps or stairs!). It's a no frills excursion but I love history so i found it interesting. There is a enclosed main deck with air conditioning or you can go upstairs for a more open atmosphere. They serve cocktails ( i got the bikini martini and my boyfriend got a margarita). Just know they will be a bit pricey. We also got some chips and salsa but the chips were stale and broken so we left them. I would suggest bringing your own snacks since it's only an hour. We did enjoy sipping on the cocktails! It's a relaxing tour which gives you a better insight from the boat. You can walk around freely to view both sides of the boat. This tour appeared to be good for much older people as well as children. They have bathrooms on the boat for both men and women. Its only 32 bucks per person so it's a good value!

Both emails confirm cancelation with no explanation why, no offer to reschedule

Bought a trip on groupon for a party of 6 in April 2026. I was emailed a cancelation with no reason why. When I reached out, I was told that I would have to go through groupon. Got a call a month later to reschedule from a June trip to July. We rescheduled for a few days after the boat "would be back." Shortly after, I got another cancelation email. Reached out to the company AGAIN, got assured "someone local" will call me back. Never heard from them again. It is now August 2026. Thank you for ruining my husband's birthday gift

My family and I were very excited to attend the 1-hour Sacramento Historical River Tour and learn more about Old Sacramento. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing due to poor communication, lack of signage, and unprofessional customer service. We followed the instructions exactly as stated in the confirmation email and arrived at 1206 L Street, next to Joe's Crab Shack, as instructed. The email stated we were to be at the dock by 10:45 AM for the 11:00 AM tour, and we arrived at 10:40 AM along with several other guests. No staff members were present at the dock, and there was no one available to check anyone in. We waited until around 11:10 AM, during which time multiple customers double-checked their emails and confirmed we were all at the correct location. One guest even called the company to inform them that several customers were waiting with no staff present. At approximately 11:10 AM, the woman working the ticket stand arrived for her shift. At that point, we were told that a different location had supposedly been included in the purchase email. However, all of us had the same instructions, and the address we were given also matches what appears on Google Maps and Apple Maps. There were no signs, no arrows, and no posted instructions anywhere explaining how to access the dock or where the boat was actually boarding. When my partner and I spoke with the woman at the ticket counter, the situation became even more frustrating. She was argumentative and immediately blamed customers, insisting we had not read the email correctly. She refused to review the email we showed her and would not take accountability for the incorrect or unclear instructions. Instead of acknowledging the confusion or offering assistance, she spoke to customers in a rude and dismissive manner. We were explicitly given two options: 1. Move our experience to a later time 2. Receive a refund Because we had other commitments and did not have the time or patience to go back and forth arguing over money, we requested the refund. However, it became unclear whether the employee had the authority or knowledge to issue refunds. The interaction turned into repeated back and forth, and rather than continuing to argue, we disengaged. We were then told we would be partially compensated for only one ticket, despite having purchased three tickets. No explanation was provided as to why only one ticket would be refunded, and the employee stated that there was no way to leave a note or documentation regarding this promise. Because nothing was documented, we have little confidence that this compensation will actually occur. What made this experience even worse is that the boat left without any staff coming to locate the guests who were waiting at the dock. Some customers eventually figured out where the boat was docked, but by then it had already departed, leaving no opportunity to participate. Overall, we wasted our time traveling to the location, waiting well past the scheduled departure, and attempting to resolve an issue that was not caused by the customers. Mistakes happen. That is understandable. What is not acceptable is: * Incorrect or unclear instructions * No signage directing guests * Staff arriving late for check-in * Offering a refund without the ability or willingness to issue one * Promising compensation without documentation * Poor, dismissive customer service This was a terrible first impression for us and several other first-time guests. While we will attempt the tour again to see if the experience itself redeems the company, I am not optimistic based on how this situation was handled. The company needs to update their emails, provide clear signage, ensure staff arrive on time, and properly train ticket counter employees on customer service, accountability, and refund procedures, especially when errors originate within the company.

2024 company holiday dinner party 12/5 aboard the Hornblower City Cruise boat with Captain Roger, food by Crisp Catering, a 21+ event. This experience was around 1.5 hours with live DJ entertainment, 2 drink tickets per person provided for a full bar (cocktails, wine, beer), and first come first serve limited onboard cocktail seating. Casual attire dress code, advised to dress weather-appropriate, private event, maybe 75 -80 people total. I recommend the Tower Bridge Garage (1289 Front St). From the L Street Dock, boarding time was between 5:30-6:00pm, and the cruise was from 6:00pm-7:30pm (weather permitting). If the waters are rough, the boat would stay docked for the evening. There were scenic Sacramento river views, but since it was nighttime, it was pretty dark once you got past the Westin/Scott's Seafood. Once leaving and approaching Old Sac, you had very nice shots of the Tower Bridge, ziggurat, and city. It was a clear night with the moon and Venus leading the way. It was cold outside, but both levels of the boat inside were warm and comfortable, decorated for the holidays. The first deck was where tables and chairs were set up (sit-down), restrooms were located, and the catering was set up. The second level was where the DJ and dancing, the cash bar, and some standing-height tables. Music, food, drinks made for a fun off-site event.

One hour cruise up the Sacramento River (plenty of facts given). Recommendation- start sitting on starboard side (right side) for viewing purposes. Full bar on board for hydrating purposes.

Sights and sips was a great time. Minimal views past old town so I'd go if you're down for a drink and dance floor.

    Enjoying the expansive river.

All aboard the City Cruises boat for a historic tour! Living in a river town makes playing tour-guide an easy feat... especially on a beautiful day! Our river-tour guide provided an overview of the gold rush history & how it impacted the river. Go & learn! The ticket prices were reasonable. Reservations were easy. Just go on their website. Several minutes before boarding-time check-in at the designated stand. And there you go!! Enjoy the river breeze & learn something new!

I don't have many pictures of the actual entire interior or the exterior for that matter. My bad. Lol To start, I had a group of over 30 for the sights and sips tour. Let's get into this. Parking: in Old sac is horrendous on nice days. It would've been nice to know there was valet parking a few spots away from the launch. Even with getting there before 2, it took 40 mins to find a park and walk over. Venue: The boat itself was decent, nothing to write home about. Had it not been for my 30, it looked to be a pretty dead cruise. Now onboarding, we were waiting for someone to tell us to come on down as we stood outside of the ticket booth. I just happened to note the time and asked the ticketer when will boarding begin. To my surprise boarding had already began. Fine, cool. I rush down the ramp to give the person our barcode. Upon entering, there is a upstairs and a downstairs on the boat. The bar & DJ are only upstairs. It would've been nice if there were "reserved" tables. Again, my group size was rather large and really could've taken up the vast majority of seats upstairs. Being that there were maybe 10-15 other people so we were staggered between inside and outside on the top deck. They had fun things for the kids to do downstairs. That was great. Service: The DJ was exceptional. I wouldn't say he spun top 40, it was definitely a lot of older songs but he was jamming. We did make a couple of requests and he gladly played them. Shoutout to him for keeping the party jumping. The bartender said she was hungover and her service sucked. We decided to not order anymore food because she did not wash hands or anything between patrons. Now maybe she was overwhelmed with the amount of people on board and maybe she needed a 2nd bartender. However, group sales knew how many people would be on board and it should've been handled appropriately. Sales: If you want to boost more sales in your Sacramento location, you have to provide better service. I dealt with Jasmin and she was nice enough. As a travel agent there are endless possibilities for renting out the entire boat and hosting something, however, there just aren't any concessions besides the reduced cost per ticket for the sights and sips tour. It should be revamped for sure. All in all, I would do this again. Maybe I'll look into the San Francisco tour.

Drinks were excellent, the bartender had a warm and friendly vibe 7/14/24, she was awesome.

Cavin who booked my reservation was amazing, the quality of his customer service skills was indeed refreshing. He was so helpful and informative. His ability to deliver the tickets and direction immediately by text was impressive. His top notch professionalism made the process extremely pleasant and easy. I wish everyone who called could experience his expertise in what great customer service skills feel like. From the tone of his voice and calming reassurance was highly appreciated by me, I had led than 35 mins to get to my destination so he took time to make sure I had the exact appropriate directions. The trip was awesome, I loved every minute of the boat ride, snacks, DJ, staff and drinks. The Captain was friendly and personable, he had a way cool vibe.

I bought a Groupon and took my mom on this wonderful tour. We went at 2 pm on Halloween and it was perfect. The weather was wonderful...just a nice day. They boarded us 30 minutes before we left. We were the first in line so we raced to the top balcony for the best view. They have seating up there as well as seating inside the boat. They had music playing and a small bar area where you could purchase drinks and snacks. The cruise went down past Chevy then turned around and went up the river the other way. The view was beautiful...the cruise was a lot of fun. I would for sure recommend this for you to try. We had a wonderful time.

"I'm On A Boat! I Got My Flippy-Floppies!" SITREP The "Alive After Five Cocktail Cruise" is all sorts of magic hap'nin on the water along Sacramento River's meandering course from Old Sacramento. THE SETUP If you are looking for a nice chill, relaxing, cruising time along the water, and also getting to hang with a bar, lots of peeps, and feeling the Delta Breeze through your hair, guess what: #YourBoatHasArrived! TICKETS The tickets are $25 at face-value. =But here's the deal: as of this writing, if you go onto GROUPON now, you can find the groupon for $15! https://www.groupon.com/browse/sacramento?lat=38.582&lng=-121.494&address=Sacramento&query=hornblower+cruises&division=sacramento&locale=en_US =And then our steward will exchange the groupon for the ticket: https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=AhjdxPsiJAoKEh42GziOcg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w =It really is a sweet discount. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bOvJT8Pn4mt8rL2Vru3iqw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w =Reservations with Groupons still need to be made separately - IN ADVANCE - for the specific night you want "to cruise" - and the reservations fill up fast: do not expect to just show up last minute and get on board. A couple work-peeps got the Groupons but did not make their reservations, and so were SOL...except that a couple other work peeps couldn't make it in time. So their reserved Groupon numbers were used for the 2 who didn't make the reservation, and just traded their Groupons to those who couldn't make it (they'll be able to go another night, and who knows, I just might join them cause it's that much fun). BOARDING From the street level office, you need to use the gang planks and descend almost 30-40 feet to the berth of the Hornblower boat at the dock you will be boarding. "Alive After Five" takes off at 5:30pm, but the boarding process starts at 5pm. We had traded our Groupons for tickets and got to the docked boat by 5:10pm, but guess what: we were already practically the last people in line. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=U4o37iPuz9CwbgFgR5_1_w&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w Remember: the boat leaves promptly at 5:30pm. This is not like a movie theater where you can still sneak into your seat 10 minutes into the trailers or even after the movie starts - once the boat leaves, you can't get on and then, you are SOL too. THE BAR! They have a very serviceable bar on the boat. The bartenders are animated & kinetic & know their drinks! I got a "River Rum" which features Bourbon and select juices, like pineapple & orange - so good! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select_video=UhXDdEMuF2VPF1CgIygnSg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE PEEPS! From all over the area, enjoying being off work, taking some time to enjoy drinks, killer scenery on and from the water, with more of the Delta Breeze going through our hair. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select_video=f3JYKh3TJOt8l34xSSkGoQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w SCENIC HIGH NOTES For me, there are always memorable scenic views that I enjoy: * Seeing the view of the bridges from the water. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select_video=T8CTO8dQdPgpG9emxcTfmA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * Those random boat shots, such as this old PT Boat from WWII, such as the one that JFK captained when he was in the Navy, and that was featured on the show McHale's Navy. [It is still used to train sailors!] https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=zbXshgCD71wbLER2UrWRcA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * Seeing lovely coworkers being total river divas! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=38U_WLC9Ke6D8VCDWnno-Q&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN Good friends, great drinks, beautiful river cruising, makes for a fun time!

They were incredibly easy to work with and managed to get us in for a Father's Day weekend charter on short notice on Folsom Lake, which was much appreciated. We booked a 3-hour trip and packed in a ton of fun! The crew was totally flexible and let us customize the experience to be exactly what we wanted. We cruised around the lake, swam, and even tried water surfing behind the boat. Sky was amazing with our daughter--she gave her a lesson, walked her through the basics, and coached her the entire way. It made the experience so much more memorable for our family. Highly recommend Wake on the Lake if you're looking for a fun, professional, and flexible boat charter experience!

The captain was very professional, friendly, and made the whole trip feel safe and relaxed from start to finish. We cruised by Pier 39, enjoyed breathtaking views near the Golden Gate Bridge, stopped by Skates on the Bay at the Berkeley Marina, and even did some fishing along the way. He also showed us many other beautiful spots around the bay that you can't really see from land. Overall, it was a magnificent and unforgettable experience on the water. If you're looking for a memorable boat trip in the Bay Area with a skilled and professional captain, I highly recommend this charter!

From the moment you step aboard, you notice how immaculately clean and well-maintained the boat is. The beautiful wood interior is especially impressive and adds to the overall experience. Captain Dave puts safety first, clearly showing guests where to step, explaining the navigational equipment, and reviewing safety protocols in a calm and reassuring way. His knowledge of the Sacramento River is outstanding--he pointed out historical sites, wildlife, and great riverside restaurants, all while providing a smooth and enjoyable ride aboard Papi Loco I enjoyed the Sacramento River excursion so much that I booked a second trip from Alameda to San Francisco. Once again, Captain Dave delivered an exceptional experience. As a special bonus, he even shared freshly caught crab at the end of the day. Captain Dave provides safe, memorable excursions that you will truly remember long after the trip is over. A perfect 10 out of 10. Kudos to Captain Dave--I highly recommend his tours! R Draeger

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon here, and rate this guy as horrible. You can't keep my money for…read moreover 3 months and think you deserve anything but disgust. Grady O'Bryant, you are a crook. So the story goes... I bought two tickets to his New Years event. $79.00 each. The event was cancelled, shut down by the city for not having the proper licenses. No notice... people showed up and were told it was cancelled. (Found out it was just the liquor license... party could have happened anyway, just no wine.) Grady blamed his vendor, but in an email, still said it was his responsibility. It was. Belive it or not, I am a forgiving person. Grady gave away some bottles of Champagne at the door to upset patrons and promised a refund. Hey, crap happens, and I still proposed to Amazing that night upstairs. :D We took our bottle over to the Sheraton bar and chilled for New Years. All in all a great night anyway. On January 2nd comes the email from Grady. We can take a full refund for our $79 tickets, or take tickets to his February event (which he was selling for $59.) OK Grady. How bad at math do you think I am? I respond the next day saying I'd like a full refund. I don't hear back. 2 weeks later I send another email. "When will I get my refund?" I don't hear back. A month later I call and leave a message. I don't hear back. March 13th I send an angry email telling him I'm going to sue him if he doesn't refund my money and I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I finally get a refund the next week with this message: "Michah, Your refund for $158.00 was processed. I apologize for the delay. Sincerely, Grady" Can't even spell my name right. For god sakes, it's in my email address. I encourage everyone to make sure this crook never sees a dime of yours. I don't care if his events that do go on are fun. Anyone who would keep your money if you don't threaten court shouldn't be in business.

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!…read more We booked back at the end of July. This is our first time going with this business, usually we book with Sac Brew Bike. The night went pretty decent, I thought about booking with them in the future because their rules are pretty lenient... HOWEVER, after what I have encountered, I will NEVER EVER book with them again and I'll make sure anyone who asked me about brew bikes... I will share them my experience with THIS business. They care for making money off of you and then treat you like garbage right after. I understand a business is trying to get it's bag, but at least have some human decency. It's not like we treated the driver and the host bad at all--we offered them the alcohol that we brought with us and offered food that we ordered at one of the stops we made, left several boxes of alcohol for them at the end, and on top of that tipped very well. We wanted to make sure that everyone (including the employees) is having a good time because it's not the easiest thing to be in the heat, bike, and deal with people at times. I get that it's their job and they signed up for it, but it's just nice to see everyone around you having a good time. Let's proceed to what happened... shall we? As we started biking, the employee told us that we can leave our jacket on the hanger on the inside because there isn't one on the outside (where we are sitting). I proceed to do so, thinking nothing of it because I know it'll be safe there as we get on and off the bike. Arriving to our last destination, we all hopped off and a few minutes later... I realized that I have forgot my jacket on the bike. My friend who booked the bike called them immediately and they picked up-- informing my friend that they see the jacket AND that I can pick it up first thing in the morning. Fast forward to the morning. I drove down to the address listed on yelp...I pulled up and guess what? I couldn't find the building for "Off the Chain Bike Bus Tour." I thought I was at the wrong location... I had to second guess myself and walked back and forth to see if I have missed the building. Keep in mind, I know downtown sac like the back of my hand-- I go out extremely often and even work in dt. It led me to the address of a restaurant that has been shut down and chained up. It didn't felt right. I got confused... so I called up the number. The owner picked up, he informed me that they are only out there if someone books with them and the next time he is out here, he will check or have his guys check the bike. I left it at that and followed up more towards the end of the week. Here is where the math ain't mathing... So, how come the staff said that they saw the jacket and that I can pick it up the next morning? When there isn't even a location for this business (I forgive about there not being a location). However, it doesn't make sense... if they were to store the bikes away and come out for the next customer, wouldn't the jacket still be on the bike? Unless... one of the staff took it and the owner is covering them. As you may wonder... what type of jacket is this? why would someone steal a jacket? It's a ZARA jacket... so, I guess it's worth having sticky fingers over. I followed up again today. The owner picked up and I asked about my jacket. He came at me rude... saying "You called us 3-4 times. There is nothing we can do." Sounds super defensive to me; you know people don't act defensive for no reason. The response is super ignorant as a business owner. I informed him how unprofessional it was for his staff to provide misinformation and how it played out in general. He said "there is miscommunication," and that's it. Like that's all he can say to me as a customer? OH OKAY. I understand people lose stuff all the time. I wouldn't be upset if I placed it at a bar and then accidentally forgot about my jacket. However, I was informed that they see the jacket AND that I can pick it up the next morning... but when I try to pick up the jacket, my jacket is no where to be found. It makes no sense at all...
