This place completely botched my hair. I literally cried for 45 minutes after I received the cut. It was way too short. The layers were choppy and it felt and looked like I had a staircase in the back of my head. The stylist straightened my hair and burnt my ear without asking me if I wanted her to. She then charged me for her to style it without me asking for it. It was a ridiculous experience all in all and I will NEVER return to this establishment. I had to go get a second haircut elsewhere to fix what the lady did to my hair which made me end up having to go extremely shorter than I had originally intended. read more

I've been coming here for around two years and have gotten nothing but awesome cuts and awesome service. Today I popped in on my lunch break to get an undercut -- shaving the sides of my head and leaving the top long. I sat with a different stylist than normal, which isn't unusual. Latoya usually does my hair and she is fabulous. I showed my stylist pictures of what I wanted and I gave her instructions to leave the top alone -- I let her know that I was happy with what I had. Just shave the sides. Once my sides were shaved she started cutting on the top saying she was blending. Okay. Maybe I had some bad ends. Fine. She cut all of my hair off. I had chin length fringe that now barely goes past my eyebrows. I wasn't wearing my glasses and i let her know that I cannot see without my glasses. I couldn't tell that she cut off half my hair until I put my glasses on. She said she was going to thin it and I am okay with that. I asked her to rinse my hair so I wouldn't shed all day. Once she rinsed she started shampooing. I did not ask for a shampoo. I did not want a shampoo. I havent cried about my hair since high school and I'm in my mid thirties now. And I cried today. A lot. I didnt even want to finish out my day at work. This hair cut is awful, and there is nothing that can be done to fix it. Yes, she took that much off when I couldn't see after I told her to leave it alone. And once its done, you gotta wait for it to grow back. And I've rocked a pixie cut. I've shaved the sides before. This is some other bit of awfulness. She tried to tell me it looked too short because I have curly hair. Yes, I know I've had curly hair. I've had it all my life. I know the difference between shrinkage and my hair being too short. You would think that after you've been in the business for 20+ years that you would actually listen to your client. Very deeply unsatisfied. Mostly because my stylist did not listen to me. read more

Got right in and done in 15minutes. Kayla was our stylist. She used clippers from another stylist. She brushed the clippers clean but did not sterilize the clippers. Would have been a five if she had cleaned the clippers better. Also the lining clippers were terrible. Had to get some assistance from another stylist. Overall satisfied. So I went to City Cuts( a hair salon) in Valdosta in the Publix shopping center on Gornto Rd. They have a sign in the parking lot that reads 9-12 $9.00 for a hair cut. But if you don't ask you get charged $17.99 with the blow dry. I did not notice this till later in the day. I called and they said that there policy was you don't ask you don't get the deal. Every time I got to City Cuts, they botch something, but not badly. My biggest problem is that they cut the sides so short that they give me no hair that I can part, even when I specifically ask them to leave enough so that I can part my hair. But guess what? They're inexpensive and that means a lot to me! If I go to sport cuts, I have to wait longer, pay more and listen to blaring sports reports on giant screen TV's that are of no interest to me whatsoever. It's just simpler to go to City Cuts. And guess what? No matter how bad the haircut is, IT ALWAYS GROWS BACK. read more

I used to get my hair cut here all the time. August of last year I decided to let my hair grow out so I didn't go for a while. I went this past weekend and none of the regular ladies were there anymore. All new staff. I should've known right then to walk away but I didn't. I foolishly sat down, explained to the stylist what I wanted (a very simple cut) and then I watched in horror as she basically gave me a Marcy Darcy 80's haircut from hell. No, I couldn't say anything because by the time she'd made three cuts, I was done for. I will not enjoy spending the next six months letting this grow out just so I can finally get it cut into the style it was SUPPOSED to have been. NEVER AGAIN!!! My experience was not pleasant in the least. As new resident of Valdosta, I tried City Cuts because of the reviews on Yelp. It is safe to say, I will never return. Upon arrival, I was greeted and ushered to the chair. Nicola lacked any personality whatsoever, as she spoke maybe a dozen words the entire time. After explaining that I wanted a very simple trim, Nicola began cutting away clumps of hair without acknowledging my request. When I saw a large piece of (dry) hair fall, I asked now much she had just clipped. It was nearly 3 inches long ...far too much to be a simple trim. Furthermore, I had to insist that she wet my hair to cut it...due to a dry cut, my hair is now uneven..and also extremely bushy and frizzy... It's quite sad when the customer has to request simple things like tangles being brushed out, water being squirted on your hair before it's cut, or simple answer to a question like, "how much did you just cut." With rude, unfriendly, incompetent, unskilled staff, and poor results and terribly frizzy hair...I will not return to city cuts. I advise future consumers to do the same. Spend ten more dollars and get a decent haircut elsewhere. read more

I went to Valdosta, a 100 mile round trip to get a specific stylist to cut my hair several weeks ago. She had cut the back of my hair and did an excellent job. On current visit I told her the back needed to be shorter, and cut only 1/8th of an inch top top. I was appalled at what she did, my hair looked like a man's haircut..I had long bangs-clumpy, and the sides were not even 1/2 inch long. Top of my head hair was less than one turn on a 1/2 inch barrel curling iron. I did not say anything when I was paying as lobby was filled up, she was to get off at 4pm and it was around 3:30pm. it's been several weeks, I sent pictures, posted on their mycitystyles website, and no response from manager or district manager, I've tried looking up state of Ga professional license for salon to get owner's name, but it's not listed under CityCuts or CityStyles, etc. I asked for $40 for the one-week old hair color she cut to the floor...I am beyond embarrassed still to be in public, hair has bare grown out except in nape area. Yohoooooo!! City Cuts are you out there???? I will find the owner's business license city, county or state. I am still real upset by what Kelly did to me...I thought we had a good rapport about my hair...words of wisdom customers of ANY beauty salon: when a stylist turns you away from the mirror to cut ,color, perm your hair, asked to be turned back around to see what they are doing....she even thinned my hair severely--wet cut....she must have been in another world or worried about missing out on making more money, my cut/style--oh what a joke on style--trying to curl...bend hair with a flat iron that isn't even long enough to stay in the iron!!!!! stylist don't use curling irons anymore and if they do, they dont have one that is less than one or two inches diameter. my bill was $11.99---senior discount...I want that, the $40 color and $20 gas I wasted/spent on going to Valdosta, Ga from Thomasville, Ga to get butched up! read more

I have been a long time customer at City Cuts, but after today I will never go back there. During the week they have an early bird special so I always go during that time so today I signed in at 10:50 I was not called back till after 12 because it took the stylist over an hour to cut a guys hair, well any way as I sat and got ready for the cut I was told I could not get the early bird special. I made a decision to leave and being upset I just said I will never come back. As I was walking out the door one of the stylist said to me are you such a prude that you cant pay the extra $2, by the way the discount is $3 ( First of all she used the word out of context, second of all that was not the point I sat there for over an hour) but how RUDE I did not deserve to be treated like this.
