I saw the head man a couple of times but he wasn't really interested. He told me on one occasion that he could do nothing with my tooth, I would have to just let it crumble. I went to another dentist who fixed it up no problem. That being said, I didn't actually leave the practice but found out that they no longer had NHS patients and I had been taken off their book when I rang for an appointment!

I did not receive any notification by email, letter or phone. The receptionist said I could not be re-registered as an nhs patient but they could accept me as a private patient. I have always prioritised my 12 year olds dental appointments and she is still a patient with them but only until I find a much better one. My daughter recently needed an emergency appointment and when I called was told they were only treating private patients on that day...they didn't even ask what her issue might have been - no element of triage whatsoever! When I got her out of hours treatment and was provided with antibiotics for her we were told she was in a pre-sepsis state and it was so lucky we got treatment when we did especially with it being Easter weekend. The practice is very old and decrepid in places and one can only hope that with their incessant desire for private patients over NHS ones that they use some money for an update. Pretty dull and uninspiring practice who care more about money than patients and this is evident.

Mr Jon Swarbrigg was recommended to me as a practitioner with a very good reputation and equally good results. Mr Swarbrigg was extremely helpful and understanding of my concerns.? After my first consultation he explained what could be done and the results I could expect. He also provided me with before and after photographs of other patients who had previously been to him for treatments. He gave me the confidence to put my trust and teeth in his care.I saw Jon several times, firstly to take photographs and to prepare my teeth for the fitting of veneers. No new patients were invited! The online booking link which you used (or had forwarded to you) also made clear it was for existing patients only. When it became clear you were not a pre-existing patient and booked your self an appointment incorrectly your appointment was cancelled. We are attempting to rebuild our general nhs list in an equitable manner prioritising pre-existing patients by age group. I once went to a dentist that was in a basement and I was truly terrified so the bright and clean dentists on street lane put me right at ease. The waiting area is comfortable, stylish and really tidy; there is also a bathroom that is so luxurious it should be in a beauty spa. I only had a routine check up and thankfully no nasty work was needed. The dentist was really sweet and suggested I start using sensitive toothpaste as gave me some samples to try. I have found practically all other dentist's scary; this one however is warm and friendly.

I managed to get a same day emergency appointment here, with David Blaine (ok, David Blaen, but it's pronounced the same, which is awesome for he is indeed magical), for £56, and after discussing my options I decided to have the tooth out. For which there was no extra charge! All very quick and more importantly, pain and stress-free. I can't recommend Dr Blaen enough. He is a dude. He is private though, not NHS, but he's worth it. He also has a mega beard.
