I felt that the life groups lacked proper oversight, and the management of those groups felt spiritually unhealthy and exclusive. Unfortunately, navigating the cliquey environment and lack of leadership support left me feeling deeply disconnected and hurt. While the main service has great qualities, I personally struggled to find a safe, welcoming, or structurally sound community here. If you are looking for deep, structured small group accountability and supportive management, you may want to look at other local congregations.

The church itself is young, only 6 months old and certainly draws a "younger" generation (think gen z/millennial). However, my husband, not a millennial loves this church. It's a safe space for anyone and everyone along their journey of seeking Jesus. Bible based. This is a big deal for me. We've attended great churches before that are just sadly watered down. The team at QCC packs a huge punch of the Bible but still maintains a fun, witty, loving atmosphere. Enjoyably bible based! We've been accepted with open arms since day one. If you choose to check out a service and attend regularly, I very highly recommend doing the Growth Track where you learn about the church and specifically what gifts God has given to you. It's a very fun, short "workshop" that plugs you into everything QCC has to offer! Bonuses: free coffee and childcare UpdatIng: after spending some time here, we've chosen a different path. The younger generation just didn't relate well to us over time. If you're 18-24, this is the church for you!

Caracole, Inc. works very hard to support their community, and are relentless in their passion to provide prevention, education, and outreach opportunities to really make a difference in the population that they serve. So impressed with this group. You seriously could not find a better group of staff and volunteers to run such an important organization. They're so nice, would bend over backwards to help someone, and continue to work hard even when a pandemic tries to get in the way! Love this group and the work they do.

The people are very welcoming, and we quickly made a new circle of friends through this church. It made the transition to life away from our family much easier. New City just moved from meeting in John P. Parker Elementary's cafeteria, to a beautiful old church building in Norwood. I had no…read moreknowledge/previous involvement of the Presbyterian faith prior to attending New City, but I felt wanted and invited there all the same, and I found New City to be a place that truly lives out love, grace, and sacrifice. The attendants act out their faith through generous giving to those in need in Norwood, especially Sharpsburg students. Huge perk of New City: they have a great kids' ministry with separate classes for every age, so your child gets individualized attention and age-appropriate lessons while you're in the church service. All kids' ministry volunteers are background checked and trained. I highly encourage checking out New City, whether or not you have any faith background. You will be welcomed with open arms. Be sure to get there a little early so you can find street parking and grab a fresh cup of Deeper Roots coffee.

After one visit and viewing multiple services/messages online, I have determined that I would not…read morerecommend this church for those who want to receive a message of Biblical truth and strong bold leadership. If you are ok with being misled by passifists that will leaven the bread with too much leaven then it could be your place. From the misinterpreted scriptures to the infiltration of "feelings" and "personal beliefs" to explain scripture, I was to the point of wondering if the church is really just a social club. The message of the gospel is watered down in the midst of their mission to appear attractive to the young demographic . Turn it into a concert and keep it dark enough to hide in the cave. Keep the itching ears coming back it seems. Doing anything "short of sin", doesn't mean rushing out the door to make it to watch Sunday football, or playing Whitney Houston in the bathroom directly after service. There is truly a boundary that exists between reaching the lost and showing respect to the Father in His house of worship on the day of worship. If these leaders don't see that, you need to really question their teaching principles. It's not about me being offended, it's about showing respect to God in the place of worshiping Him, glorifying Him. It's not about us, it's about Him. And unfortunately, I feel this particular church has a problem with understanding how to reach the lost without being of the world. I was told today by a woman representing the church that they are a "happy place", " welcoming all" , and yet she was not too keen on being questioned as to why they were playing secular music overhead directly after service. I was told in response that Crossroads is "not for everyone", meaning, it's not everyone's cup of tea, there are other churches available for those "other" people who don't quite fit their mold, despite their online mission statement recognizing this fact that there is one church. So then why suggest other churches? Yes, there is 1 Church. Jesus will come for His bride some day. That bride is The Church. But, if one is "offended" by something , then it's not for them? I'm sorry, but that's not what the Bible teaches. Jesus doesn't tell us to tell people to check out another church down the street if they're offended by what's being taught. Take heed. This church may have good intentions, but their good intentions are being played with by some people in the church who are allowing the world and their feelings to control their teaching instead of the Holy Spirit. I feel it's my duty as a follower of Christ to bring some things to light. If this is your church, please question" why" often , and study your Bible more. Learn to discern what you're being taught. Ask for God to direct you. It doesn't mean stop going, it means asking questions and being firm in your faith. Avoid falling into deception. Going into places where people sin to reach the lost or sharing in some friendships and fellowships is different than altering a place of worship to fit the desires of the sinner. We shouldn't manipulate the house of worship to make it culturally current by taking God out of it. That's what the Nicolaitans did, and God detested it.

They work in partnership with Children's Hospital and do amazing work with children and their families, including siblings! I'm truely in awe of all the great work they are doing and how much they are growing.
